- John the Baptist is one of the most enigmatic and powerful characters found in the new testament. Cousin of Jesus and son of Elizabeth and Zechariah, John the Baptist came preaching the Kingdom of Heaven, which is alluding to Old Testament prophesies such as those found in Isaiah.
When John heralds the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven, what does this tell us about John the Baptist and his place in salvation history? And, what Kingdom is he talking about?

Thanks... I always kinda wondered exactly why people would flock to John the Baptist (aside from the prompting of God's love).. To receive a baptism of water. I wondered what other circumstances first urged the people on... You explained it so well.
Long live John the Baptist!!! In our Mexican culture he is a Saint of the Saints and one who is worthy to be in Paradise!!!
I always thought the Blessed Mother would be one considered as the 'Saint of all Saints'.

@@tonygville2969 Sure, just be careful as many will incorrectly conclude that Jesus is speaking of all people throughout all of history (including post 30AD). But, in context, Jesus is speaking of Old Testament prophets that have "arisen." You may very well be aware... I just mention this for those who may not be aware and, possibly, some who may want to have this text possess implications on Mary, for example, when it does not. God bless.

@@CatholicProductions It also has a ring of hyperbole to it, so maybe Jesus was actually saying no previous prophet was greater, but I would guess He didn't necessarily mean that as a comparison of greatness between John and Isaiah, or John and Jeremiah, etc.

If the Baptist didn't like Pharisees and Sadducees, what kind of Judeans did he like?
In a first century Jewish context, especially among the Pharisees and Sadducees was an assertion of superiority. I would even say that they believed to be racially superior on account of their relation to Abraham. John the Baptist put those vipers in their place.
1Peter 1:3-4

So what really happened is that Peter, Paul and a few other guys were watching Mary Magdalene and her friends take their weekly baths in the river. After they left they saw Jesus and John up river and they were playing some kind of naked dunking game. So Peter says, "Hey, what are you guys doing?" Jesus and John were caught off guard so John says, "Oh... um.... I'm dunking Jesus in the river like that story we heard in school about Achilles. You know, make him immortal." So the guys kinda say, "Oh, ok, whatever." As they are walking away Peter says, "Those two are always playing grab ass somewhere while the rest of us men are spying on the ladies." Then Paul says, "That John guy is Batshit Crazy, and now he's playing some naked dunking game with Jesus. I mean.... not that there's anything wrong with that." So from then on they referred to John as "John the Batshit". Move ahead a few centuries, several different language translations of the story, and "Batshit" became "Baptist". So basically the Baptist religion is based on some Baptist, aka "Batshit", naked guys dunking each other in a river.
The New testament is not the word of God. Just the Old testament is. Because God is very much against human sacrifice. All forms of it. So God will not replicate or emulate when he is against. And the prophets of the Old testament said that it is an abomination to God to have the innocent end of righteous die for the sins of the wicked. God is against the core beliefs of the church... That someone could die for someone else. And the book of John is not being honest at all. .. because God said that he would send Elijah the prophet back here to Earth before the true Messiah came... And some Christians will claim that John the Baptist was a prophet Elijah but that is not the case at all because people asked John the Baptist if he is in fact the prophet Elijah and he said no he wasn't and then they ask him are you even a prophet? And he said no I am not... So the book of John and all of the other gospels are lying all over the place .. if you study the Old testament very carefully and you read God's words and very carefully then you will start to understand that the New testament is not definitely not God's word. Plus in the old testament it never mentioned that a virgin will have a child... If you look at the correct translation of the Hebrew translation it does not say virgin at all.... And plus that was a prophecy for King ahaz... About his son King Hezekiah... It was definitely not about jesus. Please do some research and you will start to understand. Or you could do nothing and continue living your life as you have but know this that you are going against the word of God in a really big way... And at the end you will be very surprised and ashamed and feel guilt like never before
A righteous judge is a Mother because she loves all her children equally. Elected by God to sustain life without her you cannot be reborn. The snake on his belly deceives him and tells him he will die unless he claims me as his property. It is a implant in the DNA of a male beast. Setting a bad example his children suffer. Appearing sinless Cain was blamed for killing Abel. The parent is to blame not the child, and he reaped what he sowed. He became the Son and died for the sin of inequity so that you won't have to meet the same fate. Setting the example rules are put in place to keep children from harm. They punish themselves for not listening. God is love, and wants to see her children grow into the glorious Angel's they were meant to be, so stop being little devils and pretending you know more then me. Man choose not to listen he learns the hard way. Although they are bratty that's just what children do so of course you are forgiven. The sin of inequity was committed against me. Will you include me in the trinity now please? The opposite polarity will straighten the axis and calm the weather and earthquakes. The father and son do not combine to create life. The subconscious of humanity has been reprogrammed from repetition altering DNA. This is why homosexuality is on the increase. Makes sense dosen't it? They took my title and put the son in my place. The Lord is a She this time. I complete the He. Together we are One. I'm taking to you man. You are God the Father silly. Children grow up to be just like their parents. Equality is heaven. I make a declaration of divine connection and adopt the constitution of America in the family home. He and She equal create We the American Family. Join me and create the garden of Eden.

There is no mention of a family relationship between John and Jesus in the other Gospels, and Raymond E. Brown has described it as "of dubious historicity".[53] Géza Vermes has called it "artificial and undoubtedly Luke's creation"
If she is a relative of Mary than a John is related to Jesus. Common sense...
@@RGTomoenage11 But the other gospels say nothing of John being a relative. It of course was woven into the story. Jews of the time knew and acknowledged that John was an important figure, they did not think jesus important. They would know they are the ones who were there. j

John was greater than jesus and it is a fraud to say he was Jesus cousin. The gospels contradict that assertion.

I'm, afraid you are grossly mislead when you say "The specifics of the Book of Daniel include the foretelling of the exact days of Jesus' baptism, crucifixion, and return in glory."
