This is a video of the game played between Enfield CC and Clitheroe CC in the JW Lees Lancashire Cricket League, Division 1. The game was played on 20th August, 2023.
Great game and great commentary Keith. Couldnt believe either that 2nd 6, and thought the wicketkeeper had it. Only face shots like that once a season, or as you said, defying the laws of science. Shame Marcus Sharp lost his line, as he had bowled excellently with little success. Great to see his bowling action though, as he brings the ball down from very high and varies his pace constantly. Will be hard to replace him, when he does decide to hang his clogs up. Hopefully not for a few years yet. Just a few games left now, and its been a difficult season. Your coverage though Keith is spot on and just gets better. Thanks
Great upload again. Batters getting themselves in and then getting out without capitalising seems to be the story of the season. Clitheroe also seem a quality bowler or two light. It’s alright having a fast bowler, but they need to have a bit of nous and also make an impact on the game regularly.
I agree even at the highest level of cricket pure pace, although a major major asset, isn't, of itself, enough. The ball has to be put in the right place - the right line, the right length.
I’m curious, we don’t have paid players at my club. If you was to get a pro and after a few games you notice he’s not really up to scratch. Are you contracted to keep him for the year or are you able to change him.
I'm not sure what the precise legal status is with regard to professionals' contracts in the league. I've never heard of a club terminating a contract simply because a given pro was not performing well. I imagine that it's a case of putting up with the situation and trying again with a fresh pro the following year. What is well attested in cricket league circles is a pro who has not been up to scratch and is told he will not be retained and then goes on to notch up big totals or get truckloads of wickets.
Bouncer to helmet is disgusting he absolutely chucked that in slow motion it's so clear
Great game of cricket 🏏

That Sharp guy looks like that Kris Kristofonen actor from the early 70s - bet he's got a nice collection of headbands too
I mentioned this comment to Marcus Sharp on the way to yesterday's game, Nigel. He said he had had a lot worse things said about him over the years.
Left hand opner got sold that was going down leg
