can we just appreciate how much effort goes into these videos and how much nick has improved from his early days!!
Here, here!
Positive waves.
Improved? He’s consistently good if not excellent 👌🏻
Is video quality editing is amazing personality is awesome. I don't see why he doesn't have over a million Subs
bro if I put half this effort in editing I would have a successful channel.
@@aljones238 TH-cam isn't friendly 😔
I love ur enthusiasm. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work brotha. Keep it up. Much love to u man.
I caught a 700 pound bass this morning on my light tackle 😊
In the UK a classic bait for carp is dry dog biscuits, we actually go to the extent of using special drill bit tools to hair rig hard baits like boilies but dog biscuit isnt too hard to rig with basic baiting tools. Id be interested to see how different dog foods would work as bait for you.
A semi secret bait for giant pike over here is using frozen rats (commonly sold as snake food) on treble hook rigs, not many people use them but the results from those who do cant ve ignored so itd be another really interesting "exotic" bait for catfish, mice could work too since both mice and rats are natural prey of fish like catfish (as are live pidgeons for giant weld catfish) hope to see more interesting bait experiments in future along with the classics like shrimp
Never thought of using frozen mice! Great idea! Thanks for watching and for the comment
@618fishing
If you haven't already, would you like to show the different hooks and rigs that you use and explain pros and cons with the different setups? I would really love that!
Specially if you have good tips on how to fish with nightcrawlers without getting snagged all the time.
Hope you see this and have a great day!
Best time of the day, a 618 video on a Thursday . . . thanks Nick!
You know it’s a good day when 618 fishing posted
👇
LEETTTSSSSS GOOO! Always happy to see this notification!
My first thought when I saw that hole was, "flathead". I think when the water is up next Summer...that place may deserve another shot. Thanks for the vid, Nick!
This spot floods quite easily in the spring because of the river it feeds into. So there is no telling what could migrate into the spillway. This area is home to quite a few species of fish, which could make for some great content from Nick.
Everything about your videos is spot on. Your editing is spot on and you always give the spot you’re fishing the attention it needs with the camera. Keep up the awesome work.
if you ever find yourself in South Australia id happily take you out for a fish Nick. love your videos mate. keep up the amazing work.
I've fished all three of those spots because they are really close to where I work. The first spillway I have fished the most. Haven't had too much luck, but I have caught a shortnose gar and snagged a line being trailed behind a pretty decent channel cat. The lake that feeds it has a lot of different species. I personally have caught a few smallmouth buffalo in the lake, along with lots of bluegill and longear sunfish, but I know there are largemouth and spotted bass in there along with many other species. It is just hard to fish without a boat because of all the snags along the edge. Hope to see you fish this spot again. I'm always interested to see what is living in my fishing spots that I have yet to catch.
A terrible day of fishin is still a pretty good day ! Nice gar and some sunnies , no skunk ! Good enough ! Some days you wear em out , some days your just killin time . Either way it beats workin 9 to 5 . If it gets too frustrating head for " The Pond " . We know there's big uns in there ! Always enjoy your vids no matter what you catch 😎👍👍
The Pond of Lost Giants! I would love to see another adventure to that pond! Monster fish! ❤️😀
Hey nick I met you near the spillway. Thank you again and the place you went to I fish every week lots of PB’s love your videos
Very nice to meet you! I appreciate you watching!
I love your spillway and creek vids! As an anniversary thing you should go back to the micro fishing ruins and see what's up there from day 1
Waffles? Haven’t seen a bait that interesting since your epic cheeseburger video! Those were great looking spots you were at. Maybe you’ll be able to try it again sometime.
Sorry fishing was slow for fishing but that long nose Gar was a nice catch! Love all you do and work you put into these video and your dedication to fishing and sharing it with us! Have a fun and safe weekend and Happy Halloween! Take care and see you next adventure!
Used to live really close to that spillway. It is home to some huge carp and gar.
Great effort today Nick! And so beautiful Gar, a great beast! 🤩🤩🤩
I like your lectrified bike
A crappy day fishing is better than any day at work. Awesome to see you out there
Even though he didn’t catch anything large, it’s still the thrill of the hunt. Great video as always.
I love it when i get on youtube and see that there is a new fishing video
Thanks Nick that was a really good video. How big do u think that gar was, how much did it weigh? 🎣🐟
My guess is about 4-5lbs. It was a nice and healthy looking fish!! See ya later buddy! 👍👍❤️🤟
Always a good day when Nick posts 😊
Looked like a pumpkin seed sunfish
Amazing
I’ve caught some good bass out of that spillway!!
Go downstream to the Meramec, some good fish that way too
Awesome video man keep up the the good work. I’m out hunting during winter but gotta get back out and try fishing during winter and fall again.
Awesome fish as always! I like seeing what kind of funky baits you come up with each vid.
Let's go nick 💪 love tour channel bro. Keep grinding these videos out
Also that spot on the river is not good, you need to go way further downstream where the creek dumps into the river. Monster gar man
That last spot really isn't that great. I've caught a couple of Asian carp and a bass or two there.
I was literally just fishing at that spot the other day!! There’s some big gar down there
A crappy day fishing is better than any day at work. Awesome to see you out there
My most amazing catches were on nightcrawlers.!! Secondly on cut bait...
Hopefully, spring comes. I'll find smaller sun fish to use. Bought smaller hooks. I'll use pieces of nightcrawlers. If I can't find descent nightcrawlers, I'll use white soft plastic grub worms. I'm sure I'll make out ok. I won't break up too many big nightcrawlers. I'll use a bunch of big nightcrawlers for big fish for whatever bites. Also, I'll use a 1/8 oz or a smaller 1/16 oz white crappie jig with white grub worms. Caught nice smallies on 1/8 oz white crappie jigs with white grubs. Put trophy bass on it'll represent a small baitfish because the grub has a ribbon tail. 😊
A bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work.
Those sunfish look like pumpkinseeds to me. Cool video as usual
I'm pretty sure they are hybrid bluegill (green sunfish/bluegill). I have caught several at this spot and they look just like the hybrid bluegill we stocked in our lake. Not sure if pumpkinseed live in this lake or not, but I'd love to catch one sometime. Lots of longear though.
@@adamloehr8407 that’s why I didn’t say that’s what they were. I don’t know what is out there. But in my area if I caught one of those it would be a seed
Someday, we need a catch clean and cook.
I'm assuming you could do that, considering you choose to chop up various "bait species".
What do you eat of what you catch! ???
You could make it an "extra" and tuck it in the description under a video, but, Dude... You always leave us so hungry!
Fry us some fry? Er, food?
Well, it Surely.
Wasn't wasn't for lack of trying. Good luck Next time
That time lapse... And seeing you hardly being on your phone while waiting and just appreciating your surroundings and waiting for a bite. I don't know why, but just made me smile. Good shit as always!
Thanks Nick. Great content. Best regards from Lanark, Illinois
YOU ARE the "King of the Spillway" big Nick!
Nick God bless you in whatever you do. Your a great fisherman and I look forward to every episode. Jai Bradshaw Narangdamagh nikamar Arangdamagh
Hit that spillway when the river's high. There's very big fish that move back there.
Your videos keep me on the the lookout for spill ways!
you always give your spots more time than I do - I'm not saying you're right and I'm wrong, but, I'm not driving as far as you do - you're more tenacious than I am! Lol!
It is fantastic to see you fishing 👌hello from Sweden 👋
So great to see Nick at a local spillway of mines. Would’ve been great to see him
I didn't see this when it dropped. Thank you Nick from Ohio. Your videos make my day better.
Im from the uk and followed nick for years. I follow a lot of uk fishermen to but theyball become arrogrant and flash once they get good following, one i liked has become really flash but not nick he is still the same person as always and its great .
Cheers nick 👍👍👍
That mean mouth looked crazy! Good video man!
i dont mind you kill somme fish for bait😉, but I would mind if you kill a common carp 😡 ! Happy fishingdays
Why don't fish with lures..That spot would of been perfect.💯
Hey Nick How are you doing? Is all about? Enjoy yourself Have a good day. It stays safe.❤❤❤❤
I admire your effort and dedication . That said im beginning to distance from your videos .
Little bitty , or trash fish can only hold attention so long . I notice you never keep or eat fish in your videos .
Sorry nick , but ima h
Fyi idk why i stopped getting notifications for your channel. This was a go to once a week to relax and go to bed to. But for some reason i dont see your videos at all unless i look up about once a month to catch up.
Nice, thank you for the content you bring to us all. Much love.
Hey Nick, Thanks for another great video. I'd like to see your process of picking out a spillway on Google maps.. but none of your secret spots of course..
Google earth’s feature where you can look at past images is huge! It’ll give you a good idea if a spot holds water throughout the year and if it does then there’s a good chance you’ll find fish!
I gotta say Nick you really need a helmet for driving the bike , that speed could hurt you pretty bad if you chrash 😬 but as always a cool video 👌
Great filming nick , always interesting, if not lots of fish that's fishing for you , thanks for sharing !
Try ownr cutting point hooks because they really work great for me in this area as well as eagleclaw trokar hooks.
If you can time it right when the main river is up, and there is a solid flow from the lake, you can get into whites and hybrids there!
Fish on 👍👍
FYI the big gar live right under that waterfall.
So what was the king of the spillway, because i didn't see anything that qualifies as that.
Best show on any platform.
Great job nick
#618Fishing
That spot gets a ton of fishing pressure. Once the river comes back up enough it should be better fishing.
Nick put the entire blue gill on. We are chasing them 100lb flatheads
Does anyone know what those hybrid sunfish are called or what species? I have those near my area too.
Pls use a hotdogs I catch big catfish on them just bring plain hotdogs nothing on them
Here in the UK we use floating bait like bread or dog biscuits for big carp in the summer
Wish you would catch decent fish more often like catfish or big bass.
If you wanna be catching those big catfish and stuff like that you should be using the live bait instead of turning them into cut bait
We just caught a monster… decent.. okay… average gar…
It’s a Readear sunfish.
They get bigger then Crappie.
Gotta go where bubba can't walk to easily to catch fish like you usually do
This place looks very familiar, is this Simpson park in Missouri?
Pretty sure that first sunfish ya caught was a baby warmouth, not a hybrid. Used to cat h em alot as a kid, but these days they seem to be a little on the rare side.
Not another video of king of the spill way. Or pb or monster or giant come on now nick
Nick IS the definition of awesome!!
I swear you fished the same spots I fish on the weekends and the one weekend I’m out of town for a wedding your there
Haven't watched the video but the title makes me think he catches a big turtle lol
I think we all know who the king of the spillway is, and it aint a fish 😅 love the videos man
You find some great fishing spots Nick. If it were a little warmer out I think that would be a fantastic place.
Bring thermometer to test water fish behavior or best times for feeding.
That Gar made the trip worth it. Your editing is fantastic
Enjoyed the content Nick 😁👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
You the best dude . No lies or gigs about your videos . Fish on
hat my fishing spot there flathead gars big bass and moe
I don't know if I ever saw you take a gar off the hook. How careful do you have to be, and can they bite you if you're not? How much of a bite force do they have in the first place? Do you know? To tell you the truth, I would have probably just cut the line or use the very long pliers if I them with me. The only thing freshwater that ever bit me as far as a fish is concerned was like a 30-in bullhead that I caught several years ago. Wasn't aware that they would bite, they didn't have sharp teeth but very coarse sandpaper like and ripped up my thumb and hand around there when I tried to unhook it. It wasn't horrible, just a big scraping!
I cut a piece of dowel rod to keep in my bag to stick in the mouth of a gar if I ever need to unhook one. A lot of times they just fall off the hook, but sometimes you need something to keep their mouth open. Definitely wouldn't want to get bit by one.
15 inch channel 2 small sheephead and a 23 inch common
“See you later buddy.”🎣
Put it on a shirt
Very sad video you shouldn’t have posted jt
great entertainment nick thanks for enthusiasm
Nice gar and an A for effort. Good day in my book.
That's a great spot when the main river is up.
👍🏻
Great video Nick! Did you get married?? Congrats if you did man. 🎉
I did! Thank you!
