Absolute great job. That bass sure looked bigger than 3.5 lbs!
I thought the same thing, but based on when this video was uploaded, I'd guess it was caught very early post spawn, so the bass would be at its lightest yearly weight, pre spawn it could have easily been a 4 1/2 to 5 pounder

I'm not too surprised that you didn't catch anything on the Kool-Aid soaked chicken. Fish can't see red so anything that would bite it would be feeding on scent and my guess is sweet cherry isn't a scent they go for.

I was recently fishing in a low lying flood pond next to a creek and was catching little bullheads, but I hooked into a catfish probably close to the size of that one and it got off. So heartbreaking. Always love watching you reel in a nice size catfish. Definitely my favorite type of fish to catch.

@@gelliohumberto5858 afaik he's said in videos that it's a buddy who lives in that community and that it's a community pond so it'd make sense for him to have access to a nearby house in that situation. I could be wrong and he could just be saying that to hide that it's his parents place for privacy reasons but I have no reason not to take what he said as the truth

Try heading north to Lockport or Selkirk, Manitoba for channel catfish. I think you'd love our average size here!
Use these kinds of smelly baits chicken liver, chicken intestines.. they are very good for catching big catfish.

I heard the Mississippi River has gaint catfish so big twice the size you caught. You should go there. However you would need to use a set up that you would use for catching sharks🦈. This would be a awesome trip and video for you.

If you want to catch big channel cat, come to Ohio and fish the toussaint river, Maumee or Sandusky!!

I know you fish certain areas but you need to travel to my home state of West Virginia and fish Green Bottom for bowfin. There is several species ther but bowfin have been native there for a long time. 😅

if you will carry a can of spray Pam.. with you you will be very surprised at what you can catch you can spray it on anyting lures and live bait
Ive always had good luck catching bass with stinky bait at the bottom. It can be annoying when i go for other species lol
My luck with channel cats is the smaller bait and smaller hook catches me the bigger ones and regular size bait catches averages
