Thanks for the video. Now I have a better understanding of FFP and SFP and what they mean beyond the acronyms. For me, primarily being a varmint hunter it would seem that the SFP is most suitable. The good news is, this saves me about 15% in cost.

None of the several FFP/SFP videos I have viewed address the issue of reticle visibility at various magnifications. With a FFP reticle, does the reticle need to be some kind of "big" design, so that it can be seen at lowest magnification? Then when one increases magnification, the mil/MOA lines start to appear?
These are cool videos but if you really want some good info, attend Gunsite in AZ when Tim is there... He is a super cool guy and gives tons of info!!!! Oh, he is a damn good shot also!!!!
Oi do I hate my first focal plane scopes. On low power for fast shots, the reticle disappears. I don't have Leupold FFP, just the USO and IOR. All my Leupold scopes are SFP, and I like those.
People saying that front focal rate reticles become too thick as you increase in magnification and it’s hard to to shoot small things that’s totally incorrect nowadays. I have two Lupold scope’s both of them have the TMR reticle. One is a Old School Leupold mark 4 The other is one of the new LRP’s at the highest magnification both reticle are the same exact size and a person would not be able to tell the difference between either or. So the myth that the first focal plane radical is too thick is nonsense if you’re buying a scope for long range shooting it must be in the first focal plane in my opinion there there is not any other choice. On the highest magnification it is often not the most desirable for every shooting environment there are times when light becomes low or the mirage is too hi, it’s critical that you decrease your magnification to let more light into the scope so you can see better or to help see through the mirage more clearly.
I would like a Mk4 MR/T 2.5-8 and 1.5-5 in FFP, but my understanding is that the only Mk4 MR/T FFP they offer is the 1.5-5 Blackout. It that actually so? Can I get my selections in FFP?

You blatantly skip over how to range find with front focal.....! Can someone explain exactly HOW you would estimate range; it is no good just stating that a 10" target would fit a mil dot etc.....this does not explain how to do it.
