These videos have been capital G great. Quinn's is obviously a natural at it and if ever SU&SD need more money, I wouldn't be upset if they took some considerable pay for previewing games. If you listen closely, they are also soft reviews too.

Always worthwhile to offer caution. However, within the context of a paid preview, you could sense on the edges (compared with their other paid previews) that he was enjoying this one and talking just a bit more favourably than usual.

Actually the rulebook of the Lost Ruins of Arnak goes out of its way to point out you are NOT killing the monsters but are actually "earning their respect" resulting in them "giving you a boon"....
Because fiction creatures in fantastical board games have feeling too... I hear they’re changing the 40k rules by replacing the ‘to hit’ rule with a ‘to lightly graze without causing too much pain’ roll just in case anyone gets upset about mindlessly killing other races.
Anybody else notice how Quinns forgot which color he was pretending to play for the Red Cathedral demo and built a section claimed for another hypothetical player (yellow instead of "his" green)?
Red Cathedral seems daunting but I watched the BGG: Date Night play and it's actually much simpler than the rules make it seem. I only wished the game looked prettier. I'm very much into the aesthetics and this one is just sooo much sepia.
Very helpful tutorial...thanks a lot! Question on animal placement. Say I get a fox and penguin and place them in empty enclosure A and B, and consequently get 1 more fox and penguin from Barn/house. So now both enclosures have 2 animals each. Now can I move 3 kangaroos from enclosure C which already has 4 kangaroos to another empty enclosure D? So in same turn I moved animals into enclosures A, B and D? :)

Nothing could convince me that trying to read that massive body of text in the Catan expansion to my family and/or friends would be an enjoyable experience for anyone.
Personally I think it'd be great for myself and my SO, but with larger groups it might be a bit long. It could find a lot more milage by being more spread throughout the game using a deck or something of that sort, like other legacy titles do.
Preordered Red Cathedral, looks really interesting, and love the small box. I've been enjoying Concordia lately, but I'd like it even more if it fit anywhere near the rest of my collection
I playtested Arnak during multiple phases of the creation process - it really is great. It is not as heavy as it looks like, if you have played some worker placers and deckbuilders before and there is A LOT of variety in what can you do.
There's one thing i noticed that I didn't see mentioned by anybody in the comments, for those that like learning new words. For new york zoo, you said tetromino. Tetromino are the pieces with 4 squares, this game has many different sizes so it's called polyomino.
CLARIFICATION: In Red Cathedral, you don't get resources on the rondel based on the number ON the dice, you get the resources based on the number OF dice in that section.
If seeing a board game about exploring an island and uncovering an ancient civilization, prompts ones brain to think of "colonialism", I recommend a psychologist. XD
Small clarification, In The Red Cathedral when gaining materials, you don't get 2 bricks per pip on the die you moved. It's actually the number of dice in the space that determines how many you get. So you're correct in the video that you would get 4 bricks, but if the die had shown 3 pips, you wouldn't have gotten 6 bricks, it still would've been 4.
I now understand why you guys didn't review kickstarter games. It really is annoying to watch a review of a great looking game only to find it's completely unavailable except for a copy on ebay for $200
If you're talking transcontinental, might want to double check prices... used and even new copies aren't too much these days. Just got mine at a very reasonable price!
I found this video explains games better than your usual reviews (which are harder to understand from all the analogies and colourful language used in the script. No pun included gets caught up with the same issues)

i am sorry quinns but what makes this game special? this are so many games that you put an action token on a spot or games in which you get tiles, this game looks good, but why should i get it over other similar games ?

I am trying to decide between Lost Ruin of Arnak or Red Cathedral

No mention of the excellent Bonfire, to my (low-key) chagrin.

Catan doesnt really need anything more...just adding too much to a game thats fine and shouldnt be more complex.
