As a mom and California credential teacher who has worked with students from TK until 8th grade, this video is absolutely on point. It took me a couple years to master the strategies you discuss, but please know, sir, that the strategies you discuss absolutely work with the vast majority of students

Thank you for your reply. I've shared this video, along with the why is your child not answering you video, with my husband. We have a neurotypical kid, but the knowledge you share is applicable to all. In the future, I think you could make an awesome video explaining how narrating thoughts, thinking out loud, helps children talk and learn. I remember learning in credential school that teachers and parents should provide around 5 comments for every question they ask. I'm just sharing that I think you'd be able to provide a lot of insight into the importance of narrating, commenting when playing with kids.

Me over here realizing I’m doing way too much…
Your story about the firearms instructor’s very specific positive feedback to you as an adult *really* helped me understand why it’s important HOW we compliment. Like, it clicks for me now. I do want my encouragement to be more powerful instead of…sincere but messy.
This was a great video, sending this to my husband, thank you!

Thank you for this video.. i realized alot... That in my goal to make my feel child look normal that i am already sacrificing our good companion time together... His time to develop talking is affected because i want him to study study and study... Thank u sir.

Does it also apply to younger children? I’m talking about autistic 5-6 years old. I was told that I should make everything more dramatic… exaggerate my facial expressions 😂
