I have just been doing a virtual try on from my local opticians, I chose large metal frames last time, way to heavy so definitely something neater and lighter this time, Love the three photos/styles at the end.
I agree, try a few pairs on and decide - different styles, colours, sizes and prices. Do that rather than being so definite that you have such and such a face or head shape, or skin hair colouring etc. One thing I would warn of though, is that the frames you try on usually have clear or no lenses in them. But e.g. once reading glasses lenses are installed, they can look quite different! e.g. get large lenses in thin metal frames with strong reading magnification to anyone around your eyes will look the size of golf balls! 😂 cheers JB
Hi Robert. LOV E your videos!!!! I was wondering what you feel about antique metal .Gold Filled frames? They usually run on the small side, but they make a very unique statement. Also, concerning smaller frames, what do you feel about bowing out the temples so they don't touch the face? Be well.
I so wish I could travel to you, but I'm in Oregon. Your landscape and weather is similar to my Willamette Valley. I have specific needs / desires for my vision and can't find an optical shop that even uses Zeiss, and nobody has the technology you have showcased. Or can get glass lenses. Or will accept that I don't like variable focus lenses. Your views are so valid and I get the feeling you really care.
Thank you. Well I do really care. We do have many clients in the US. You don't have to travel to us, we can ship out to you. Via video call we can discuss everything and build you a perfect pair of glasses with single focus glass lenses.
Rob love all your videos . In my humble opinion the back ground music is very distracting to concentrate on what you saying. I must say must prefer your other videos where there is NO MUSIC. Thank you
I absolutely love your videos. They are so helpful and informative. However, the earliier ones like this have really annoying back ground music that also makes it difficult to hear what you are saying. Is there any way to edit out the music?😅
I was watching Billy Connolly and he was wearing the smallest round glasses, yet has a big face. So I agree it's definitely personality and not face shape. I love the JFRey round carbon wood and may get a pair one day. But I have the JFRey Kojima to look forward to and so excited about them! Thanks for making us think 'out of the box' Rob!
You're welcome, Robert. I just saw your comment on the other video about the Anglo American, where I suggested Carbon/Wood instead - I promise I didn't see this first! So we are on the same wavelength. And we actually have those same ones that BC wears, it takes a special character to pull them off
Hey Rob ! Good suggestions, well articulated. What about the eyebrows? If eyebrows are too thin they are seen inside the spectacle frames which looks kinda off. Your 2 cents on type of frames to choose for thin eyebrow are very much appreciated !
I do think it depends to an extent on the individual person, but a general rule is that the frames shouldn't come above the eyebrows (covering the brows is usually fine IMO) To help the glasses sit lower, a wider and higher bridge is preferable
Sir i have high cylindrical power but bigger frames suits me. But due to thick lenses I feel I shouldn't take those bigger frames please help i am in huge confusion. I am using rimless rectangular frames currently
Great advice . Particularly regarding there myth of face shape. Question ... what are your thoughts on the dimensions (often found printed on the inside arm of a frame) ... should we be looking at particular bridge widths, lens widths , arm lengths etc ?
It's good as a guide, but only that. I have seen several frames with the same measurements fit and look completely different... So it's best to be guided by an expert.
Yeah sorry, at the time I was still learning quickly and didn't realise how TH-cam compresses the audio so it would be much quieter when I edited it, but the music was far more prominent when uploaded. I like to think we've fixed this with more recent uploads...

Super lightweight and minimalistic
Great advice. Be brave and match your personality. I love it👍(I'm diversifying from my old rectangular shaped frames!)
That's right! I almost never have clients who choose the brave option and regret it. I'll film an updated version of this video at some point.
My next glasses 👓 are definitely a departure from my style thanks to the Spectacle Factory. Saturday can’t come quick enough 😬
Looking forward to it too!
Thank for informacion

Robert, what frame is being shown on 1:30? Looks really good. Thanks :)
Hi they are a JF Rey frame but I'm not too sure on the model sorry. If you're really interested in buying them I could try to find out?
@@thespectaclefactory Oh not for now. I'm just curious about the design of the frame.

So I wonder what my new orange frames say about my personality x
Thanks to Emma for helping me find them and Sarah for fitting them my new glasses are awesome 😎

1) Try different glasses that suit your style/personality, and get inspiration from stylish friends/icons

That's fine - high cyl can work in a big frame as long as you choose a good lens design and material

Liking the background music! Is it one of yours, Robert?
Hi Gill, not my music on this one! I'm going to start adding my own music more often though.

The “background” music is disturbingly in the foreground.

Its very important, something to keep in mind next time
@@thespectaclefactory why dose it matter
the music is too loud. Hard to understand what you're saying

your voice is in the background overpowered by the music. We needed the message not the music.
Hi Rodney. Thanks for the feedback. I like to think we've improved the audio over time since this video
Background music.. please remove it
