New Sway Bar Link from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASSL00405
Sway bar links connect the sway bar (stabilizer bar) to other suspension components. They have a movable joint that can be damaged or wear out over time. When that happens, the joints get loose, and rattle. This video shows you how to install new TRQ sway bar links on your 2002-2009 Dodge Ram 1500.

Torque specs are 20ft lbs for top and 75ft lbs for bottom on a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. Not sure why he torqued the bottom to 20? Just fyi before doing this job, check torque specs on your specific truck

He also torqued the wheel to 130 when they should be 100…

I needed to know how to spread apart the sway bar to get the new link to go in. How would you do that if you don't have a lift and are working with a jack?

On my 03 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT the link goes into the lower control arm, but it's not on the side of the control arm, it's recessed into the control arm, so if you don't have a link that has a fixed nut on the lower end of the link, there is no way to tighten the bottom nut. Found this out the hard way.

I was frustrated as all get out early but if you use vice grips on the top of the control arm and use the 17 or 19 mm on the bottom, its only 70 lbs just want an easy one lol but all in all i was being a impatient and had to figure out how to clamp the ball joint and hole the nut because mines a 05 with no access port and the lower control arm is boxed welded stamped steel.

Working on something old or rusty always wear eye protection you can be tightening or loosening a bolt with an impact under your vehicle dust, metal, rust, goes in your eyes and you have a serious issue because you didn’t wear safety glasses. You can burn, cut, contaminate, dirty, your hands if you don’t wear gloves. Be careful working on a vehicle protect your eyes is a must I always wear eye protection when I need it

Same thing happen with me. It was the lower control arm bushings. Only way to tell is to actually take the control arm itself and see if the metal inside the rubber is loose. You can’t tell with just jacking up the tire or moving the tire on the jack it won’t give. Mine was like that and wouldn’t give or show signs that it was messed up. Once I took it off I saw how jacked up it was. The bushing was shot
