If you are familiar with Elizabeth and her channel The Charismatic Voice, she has met up with Will on several occasions for interviews. They also did a special interview together and put a scope down his throat to look at his vocal chords while he did all that. It's insane.. HE is insane and insanely good utilizing his voice in that manner

his vocals are actually better imo in this than the studio version, they’re just more crisp

@@sabina1118 I can see why a lot of people think it would mess up your voice, or make you sound different after, but it's all about technique. You just relearn to use your diaphragm again :) You are not actually straining your vocal cords anymore than singing really. You just enhance the sound using all that air coming up.
There is a good Video from Will Ramos and Chris Liepe, it calls 'How to PRACTICE Screams WITHOUT Trashing Your Voice ' where he explain .... how to practice screams without trashing your voice 😅

He has unique skills... and as Operation Throat Camera discovered, a unique throat as well. It actually twists into a corkscrew shape for some sounds.
I'll second the suggestion for Slaughter To Prevail. I got to see them live last month. Alex Terrible doesn't have QUITE as many sounds as Will Ramos, but he certainly has the power! Most people react to 'Demolisher' first, but the live version of 'Bonebreaker' may be a better choice.

Alex doesn't have the same amount of range but he can do highs at pretty good capacity. Kostolom album doesn't have them that much but Misery Sermon showcases a lot more highs from him.

Definitely his one take of the abyss that video you can see more of him twisting his tounge to the side or top of mouth changing his tones. When they scoped him they were even amazed, Will is one of a kind and a very humble young man.
Laughter is the perfect reaction to seeing and hearing Will for the first few times. You said that he seemed laid back and intense at the same time, that is Will. In person, a very chill and likeable guy, with a wonderful intense aura. Their latest album, "Pain Remains", is a masterpiece, and any of the music videos would be great, but eventually you'll need to do the trilogy. Bring tissues.

He is not just a singer, but more an artist to me. He can do with his voice whatever he wants to and it sounds just wow!
I remember the first time i watched the video. I did listen to lorna before, and i knew this was the first video with the new singer, and didnt expected to much. So i put on my good headphones, and gave it a go. I was shocked (in a positive way). Is was used to extreme forms of metal, but this gave me goosebumbs. I was waiting a long time for a song to blew me out the water again, and it was this song which did this for me.
Its nice when people who are not use to metal have this experience.
Metal music is talent. The composing, instruments and vocals is all something you need to be really good for.
And that is a big part of why many love it. Its not just a 5 note popsong. there is so much to it.
But that being said. Its not really that insane.
Yes. Ramos is one of the best metal vocal singers, no doubt. But there are 1000 who can do this. there are 1000 of good metal bands. And if you grow up with metal you practice it, like someone would practice a Disney song or what ever.
These sounds when you learn how to do it, and train it a lot like any thing in metal, its healthy to do. And many can do this thing.
And that is not to say its not special. Ramos is insane. one of the best. Lorna Shore with Ramos have become one of my favorite bands because I love emotional and melodic metal.
Best way to showcase that its more normal than it seem.

Meaning people who are not in big world famous bands are doing this on YT. I will link the first one take cover of this song I heard.
Its insane, and because of how he records it, you really get to see some of the techniques they use to make sounds and such.
Well worth a listen on your own time just for curiosity. Not saying you should react to it or anything. But I think you will find it interesting.

( Not saying its better than Ramos, very few would be better than the actual singer in the first place, and Ramos is one of the best. And this singer is his own. But it still show the same metal sound, and that is the point )

Regarding your question, I knew this was possible and a lot of singers use different techniques Will is using but I can't think of anybody that uses them all and switches between them so fast as he does..... and he made me accept the pigsqueal technique, it's mainly used in the US and I hated it before Will.
He's one of the craziest artists out there right now, the dude sounds EXACTTLY like the recording.. I mean the entire band does.. but his breathing techniques is out of this world lol we have officially turned another one into a metal head boys, congrats.

I've been listening to harsh vocals for 4 decades and am amazed at Will's talent and power.

If you haven’t already, do a search for “Will Ramos funny” and you will see his personality shine. He’s just a doll. Not only that, he’s good to his fans and appreciates them. Skill. You asked how this is possible? It's skill. Will Ramos is a master of his craft and has been honing his vocal abilities for years. When he does the "beyond the veil" part where the word veil sounds like it starts big and "moves" into a lower register, it literally sounds like an effects processer, but it's just Will's ability to control minute aspects of his voice all at once. Now you should react to "The Pain Remains" Trilogy. It's considered a deathcore ballad and is so emotional most people cry when watching it's 3 masterfully produced parts.

Honestly I like this version more than the edited, one reason is I can understand the words better but that doesn't matter too much. But it just sounds more natural and clearer, and somehow still so close to the edited one. When he got to "Azrial" I thought it would've sounded pretty different to the mv version because of how thick and wide it was but nope that's all him, absolutely insane.

Love that video, I prefer it to the album version for the sole reason that she screams some of the lines near the end that are clean in the album version lol. Courtney is super impressive, can’t say I’ve seen Spiritbox live (yet) but I did see her with IWABO maybe 2013-2014 and she KILLED it. I also saw IWABO with Krysta, both ladies were super good but I always thought Courtney had better cleans

Have you watched his cleans yet??? I just can't handle how good he is. Chokehold and Hypnosis is perfectly swoon-worthy. And then you get dragged into the world of Sleep Token (the original band of those songs) and you might as well buckle up for that ride.

You should check out "Slaughter to Prevail" perform their song "Bonebreaker" live in Moscow. It's a very popular reaction video and also features another insane vocalist demonstrating his godlike skill in a live performance.

As a ex vocalist and avid fan of this band even Pre Will , I can say this young man is one of , if not the most talented vocalists in the scene . Despite and effects on his voice during recording sessions , when you hear him live its still unbelievably accurate to the master recording . Thanks for another great reaction .

As Judah said The Charismatic Voice Studied his Vocal skills a few months ago. And recently or soon doing a part 2 to study Wills Vocal abilities.
The other one takes Hes done like "into the abyss" you get to see more of his mouth, and how his tongue placement and tunneling effects the sound. Pretty awesome. I nvr knew placing your tongue that way made a big difference. Just sitting here in front of the phone practicing you can hear the differences in tongue placement

Working theory: When Mitch Lucker sadly passed away in 2012, his soul spent 3 years trying to find a worthy artist to pass his unmatched talent to, until it found Will Ramos in 2015. And yes, Will is THAT good.

Is really good that you understand that this is amazing. I dont usually listen this genre of metal, but will is a monster, high quality vocals.
I highly recommend the Pain Remains trilogy by Lorna Shore. Wills vocals are amazing and the song(s) is even better. Also, Will has done a few Sleep Token cover songs and they showcase his singing voice and it is amazing. He is a vocal 🦄
As for how he figured out he could make these sounds, he has said in interviews that he started "screaming in the shower" when he was in his early teens. He would listen to an a bunch of different bands like Lamb of God and try to figure out how they were making those sounds and then do them himself. At the end of 2021 he did an interview with Elizabeth on the Charismatic Voice channel and they go into more detail about how he got started.
I saw them live in November 2022 and the live version of To the Hellfire sounded like this one take performance.

I'm actually pretty jealous of everyone that I watch having these moments of wonder when discovering genres like deathcore. I've been listening to music this heavy for so long that nothing really surprises me anymore but I've thankfully never fallen out of love with this type of music because I don't know what I would do without it.

What Lorna Shore are doing is nothing new to me. This guttural vocal style came to life in the middle of the 80s when several metal subgenres started, like Thrash, Death Metal or Black Metal. The first vocalists with guttural vocals were Chuck Schuldiner (Death), Jeff Becerra (Possessed), John Tardy (Obituary) or Quorthon (Bathory). What they were doing was creating a vocal style that matched that extreme music. There are also some female vocalists with guttural vocals like Angela Gossow or Alyssa White-Gluz. More Will Ramos live one-takes please! He has a few more Lorna Shore songs he did, as well as a couple amazing Sleep Token covers (which fyi, he has pretty damn good clean vocals as well in those covers).
he does some clean covers as well, if you're intrested he does a chokehold cover and a hypnosis cover. Both songs are by sleep token but will absolute crushes it.
7:55 same girl, same 😅 and that look at the end kills me every time 🙈. He is absolutely incredible and the way it looks so effortless for him will never fail to amaze me. I highly recommend some of the other vocal playthroughs as well, "And I Return to Nothingness" is one of my favorites, he's also done some clean song covers from Sleep Token and they are amazing I would recommend "Hypnosis "🤌🏻🔥.

I think this version is quite a bit different than the studio version because it doesn't have all the vocal layering. With that said, the fact that he made this version so powerful with just the one vocal layer is amazing.
