      Thank You for saying so...I think it came out a little short of what I wanted, but it's a lot better than paying Ford $80,000.00 for aa loaded Bronco so I can explore the exact same trails I do for $800.00 Thank you for your comment, I always appreciate them.

    Watching this video makes me wanna paint mines. I got a 97 sidekick 1.8 currently rebuilding the engine.

      I have 6 of these, but I never did score a Sport with the 1.8 liter engine. The paint was actually Rattle-can spray paint using high temp engine paint with a clear coat. Just starting to paint the current build, a 92 2dr. th-cam.com/video/AkbgGgDw_wc/w-d-xo.html

    Love the color. I miss the crazy coolers cars had in the 80s and 90s. Only Dodge has has coolers like these in modern times. I love Emblems! so much so I was willing to pay $50 for a new Geo Emblem up front. Great choice in rim too. I eventually want to get that style for my van.
    Even if I can afford a Bronco or Gladiator I'm still rolling in a Geo Tracker. Great analogy on is it really 100 times better.

    Nice car ! One advice if you weld both sides of the front and rear bumper and line it inside so it doesn't rust you could use it as a water tank and if you put quick connect valve for compresor or tire valve you could pressurize it and use it for shower and it would be a weight for better grip

    I really like that bumper! Im gna try to go with something like that! Did u take the main bunper off and push that pipe bumper up to were the old one was and weld it to the brackets or make ur own ? Cool setup !!

    • @tufftrails
      @tufftrails  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, Took some 5/16" plate, notched it out to fit the diameter of the 4.5" pipe, positioned the bumper where I wanted, marked the plate where the original bumper mounts to,... drilled and used the same mounting bolts and holes as original, ...welded the plate (both sides to the pipe...and your're done Now it is just bolted in place and can be removed easily.

      Nice! I think pipe bumpers look btr than any other bumper in my opinion!... thanks!

    Where did you get those round window switch panels, I have been racking my brain to come up with a good way to mount mine.

    • @tufftrails
      @tufftrails  ปีที่แล้ว

      If we are referencing the same thing, the round switch panels came from the original door panels, I just removed them and re-used them over the panels that I made. Channels' email is wizard2wizards@gmail.com if you want to exchange more ideas...

    Did u do a video on them struts ?

    • @tufftrails
      @tufftrails  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I did not, ...sorry, But maybe we should...

  • @Dust1220
    @Dust1220 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How did u drill the holes in the right spot on the ears of the struts to get the right camber ? I got the 94 buick regal struts and got the measurements online and took them to the machine shop and went and got them when they was finished and it was wrong and I slotted them out and still don't work. I kinda slotted them out way to much lol and it would look good but when I drove it both tires kicked out on top so idk I might start over with a new pair or find the right camber and weld the thick washers to the ears. How did u do it lol ?

    • @tufftrails
      @tufftrails  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry you’re having some trouble. I did mine about 6 years ago and I actually forgot what I had to do. I don’t think that I ever got them dialed in perfectly and still have some “toe-in”.
      Let me take a look tomorrow and I will let you know. I don’t have a video on this subject and I can’t remember who taught me how to do it but let me do some digging and I will follow up with you to see if we can get your issue resolved
      If you need to correspond more or send pictures or stuff here is an email address Cal@tuff-trails.com you can use when you need to. Catch you tomorrow Dustie

      Did u use the regular tracker struts ear to find the right bolt pattern on the bigger struts? I been at this for a week but I'm a paraplegic so it takes me longer

    • @tufftrails
      @tufftrails  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I believe I found how to do it online or someone gave me instructions and it had the correct measurements

      Thank you so much!

    • @tufftrails
      @tufftrails  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OK Mr. Vaughn, This is what I got. I think that I used the instructions from Zuki Off-Road www.zukioffroad.com/tech/longer-struts-for-your-geo-tracker-suzuki-sidekick/
      I had just installed them and while testing them out I attempted a hill climb that I should not have attempted by myself, and damaged my Tracker. Lost all brakes, busted a front axel and my Lincoln locker in the rear. And on the way out I also busted a front left strut mount and my wheel and tire simply laid over on it's side. I used my belt to get the strut back in place and limped it home where is sat for more than 6 years until we just did an Upgrade and modifications to it here on the channel.
      So I do not have much info for you as I never had the chance to see how they did before I broke down. Now the Tracker still sits at my house with still more issues before I can take it on a run to check things out again.
      So looking at what I did, I did wobble out the top holes on each side...following the instructions from Zuki off-road.
      I only used washers on the bottom holes and did not weld them, because I wanted to drive it a little to let it settle and see what adjustments I needed to do before I made them permanent.
      I still have some toe-in, and it needs to be addressed. However with that said, I only use my Trackers and Sidekicks in exclusively off road conditions, so toe-in, camber and alignment issues are not as critical to me because I am always in the dirt and sand.
      I did a lot of research and asked some folks with Trackers, but I was unable to get any good advise or directions to share with you. The Zuki Off-road site looks like it is having some issues, but the instructions are there. Cutting the ears from the stock struts to use as a template may be the way to go, though I wonder how it would effect the camber as the new struts and lift alter the dynamics of the suspension, all which have effects on the camber and alignment.
      Because I can't find a single video on this, I may make one t fill the need in the near future.
      It may be a good idea to use stock struts with the 2" puck and camber bolts until we figure out the issues to make the enhanced system function better.
