Follow up: the "small gear" or roller and pin I referenced in my previous thread appears to be the culprit. I inverted the "roller" with the worn side up (as opposed to down) and the system works now. Guess I need a new roller and pin but they appear to be hard to find.
Nice video. How to join the two white toothwheel together? On the upper wheel there a little plastic part on the backside .I don't know where it should be? It is supposed to be inside the metal clutch?
Hello, my 6000EL was mostly extending and would chatter towards the end; then stop. Took apart and cleaned out and everything seemed to be in order. reinstalled unit and went to feed in mast and nuthin’; no motor sound. Took back apart and confirmed motor works using 12v power source; and confirmed battery voltage at the pin. So, if something happened to the “ECU” is their a tutorial on how to test that component? thanks. Oh, and thanks much for the video breakdown on this particular unit!
@@Benzhunter thanks for the reply. The unit was actually working but the mast eel was not feeding in correctly and i guess I couldn't hear it with the cover on and partially installed in the trunk. Regardless, the issue of the chatter at the end of the run-out continues even with a new mast installed. Moreover, the motor continues to put stress on the system once the mast is all the way in. I ran it up and down a few times and this did not fix the problem. Aside from cleaning and lubricating unit, inspecting both main gears and tension spring (both appear normal), and replacing the mast/reel with a new one, I have no clue to why its doing this. I see I can buy a kit that replaces the belt, cover plate below the 2-piece wheel that also includes the steel pin with a small "gear" on it. In regards to the small gear, the way it was installed the small offset cutout was orientated toward the bottom; is this correct? Thanks for your input.
I dont know if you get notifications for comments in existing threads so I'm reposting my reply here: "thanks for the reply. I'm owning a 1992 w201 equiped with one of this hirshmann antenna. The motor is rotating, the mast is properly going up and down, however, when the mast is at upper position ( power antenna supplied) or at the lower position, motor keeps on rotating... forcing and driving up to 1 amp under 12V... any idea where the problem comes from? What would be the component to replace on the electronic module? Or the stops at upper position or lower position are given somewhere else on the car? I found the problem because the car had battery issues... more than 1 amp was sicked out even when the car was completely switched off
Might you have a metal pin and metal wheel for sell? The one that is in the compartment that is held in my three screws under the wheel you removed under the c clip
HI, My Hirshmann antenna on my 89 560SL goes up but won't go down. Motor works in both directions. Any suggestions on where to look. I assume it is the electronics. Any repair suggestions? TKX
Have you opened up the case? Sounds like the transistor that handles load-detect shutdown, but I’d check the white plastic gear (and metal spring inside) as well as the gears that move the belt. When the antenna mast is free of the gear can you easily raise and lower it manually?
Yes, I've been inside, lubricated the gears and replaced the mast. All the gears move freely and look fine. The antenna retracts if I power the motor manually. Tkx!

Where could I find spare parts for the Auta 6000U, specifically the main gear? thanks!

Very odd it would suddenly stop working after disassembly. Are you sure you connected the ECU wires correctly? Any corrosion on the metal connectors?

Any adenaur rims for sale ?
I have a 1988 420sel, the antenna doesn't work at all no noise or movement.
I’ve got one you can have for free but you have to pickup near Sacramento
