    This realization bring me this overwhelming joy/gratitude. That man was done, the mirror of his life would leave the worst of us to say he definitely deserved eternal damnation. But he was always in God's plan, since before time he was chosen. God always knew he would bring him to Christ. What mercy! What love!

      Yes 🙌 Ephesians 1:4 - He [God] chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him

    Counted as righteous for his faith, and where does faith come from? God himself. This man had no time left to turn his life around and do good works, to show "proof" of the fruits of the spirit to his fellow brothers. Yet he was counted among those included in God's kingdom!
    As a mom of 9, I often feel I'm not doing enough, sharing my faith enough, helping others enough, reading my bible enough.
    This really brings it home. I can never do enough to earn God's grace and love, but I know I already have it because of the incredible faith He has given me freely.
    I subscribed recently, and have really been enjoying your videos. Thank you for sharing these things.

      Bless you!
      I too often find myself trying earnestly for many of the same things, witnessing, helps, good works, selfless giving to others especially those in need, and for what?
      To attone, or to amend for my transgression, to dispose of my life in sin?
      I think not for "It is finished" & "He is risen"
      For it is not the intensity or immensity of our faith that matters, merely the object of our faith! That's what matters!
      I'll never ever make it past the gates of Heaven based off anything I'll ever do, only by what He has done!
      Knowing that it's what He has done for us has changed my whole life!!!
      Only thing I can do here now is to glorify God and be a part of the change I want to see in the world now that my heart has been redeemed by Christ and that right there is truly magnificent!!!!
      Simply because the change I long to see sweeping from shore to shore is Heaven on earth, and that alone has been redefining the true meaning of "love" in all ways!!!

    God bless all of us unworthy sinners who repent and understand why we are saved! We see the first time the “Shepherd” found the first sheep that had gone astray and rejoiced when finding it. We are saved by his grace and our understanding of his sinless sacrifice! We are ALL saved! What a wonderful gift! God bless! GOD IS GOOD!

    The “Thief” never asked for forgiveness, never went to church, never prayed but recognized who Jesus was. Whatever was going on was internal and that was where God works not what we do. So, if a person has a “heart” for God even if they are not Christians is like the Thief who was not a Christian but had a heart for God.

    If God is all knowing, and God knows the end from the beginning, nothing can surprise God. Wrath and anger are human responses to something that catches us by surprise and we don’t know how this situation ends. It’s like watching a movie for the 10th time we know the plot we know how the movie ends, there are no surprises when the bad guy is hiding waiting for us, when we know the plot we are not surprised or heart rate remains steady. God is not surprised so God is not angered and so God’s wrath must mean God is restorative., in my opinion.

    Roman Catholic sainthood is the devilish gatekeeping of something God gives EVERY born-again believer. Everyone who is written in the lamb's book of life is a saint in the eyes of God because of Christ Jesus our Lord and savior.

    This story was delivered in a sermon at my local church that finally brought me to a saving faith in Jesus.
    My pastor explained that we are all those two thieves on the crosses beside Jesus; it just depends which one: the saved or the unsaved. We are all deserving of being condemned in an eternity of the lake of fire for our sins, but Jesus intervened as our Savior in His awesome display of mercy. So that when we get to the pearly gates, and the angels out front state "Hey! You can't come in! I've got a stack THIS THICK on your sins" *Angel motions with their hands. And it's true. The thief on the cross had literally done nothing good his entire life. He never went to church. He never tithed. He never performed animal sacrifices in the temple. We constantly sin. We lie, steal, commit adultery, fornicate, blaspheme, and create idols. An entire life filled with sin. And yet Jesus will say to those angels at the gates, "It's okay. He/She's with me" Despite my wretched self, Jesus still found me from an eternity's past and saught me out to be saved.
    It was such a moving [albeit better explained than what I wrote] sermon that I cried inside, gave up fighting the Holy Spirit, and asked Jesus into my life and put my trust into Him.
    I've been growing ever since in the Word of the Lord. I can't wait to be with Him in paradise like that thief.

    All those who are "in Christ" are chosen from before the beginning of the world. But this does not mean that each individual can only be "in Christ" if they have specifically been chosen by God, and everyone else is without a savior.
    It means that all who would be saved must choose Christ, placing themselves "in him"... Which then makes them a part of the group that God chose before the foundation of the world. (Eph 1:3-14)

    Dismas doesn't appear to be "chosen", since he took it upon himself to ask Jesus to "remember him" when He entered His kingdom

    • @BibleUnbound
      @BibleUnbound  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Election (or chosen-ness) wouldn't imply passivity (i.e: Chosen...to have faith in Jesus and repent, those being gifts from God per Eph. 1:4)

  • @Myjesus-1

    The theif on the cross had faith, he believed, he repented, and he was justified by works when he defended Jesus.
    Scripture tells us so:
    The Book of James ch 2
    "You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without works is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
    In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead."

    The so called Nicodemus gospel called then Dismas and Gestas. The Arabic infancy gospel calls them Titus and Dumaches (Demarcus?). Titus being the good thief who bribed Dumaches to let the holy family be and then baby Jesus told Titus one day they would be crucified and go to paradise.

    Funny.... often those who believe they are chosen chose sin....
    I believe that God does allow us to have the ability to choose to trust Him or not... I don't believe that He chooses to save some while choosing to not save others... I believe that His desire is that none perish and that all would repent.
    That choice isn't hardwired to happen...
    Otherwise.. the fall in the garden was bound to happen as nothing goes outside of the will of God... making God the Sovereign Puppeteer...
    Too many factors that allow for the permissive will of God to also be in His Ways ....

    • @BibleUnbound
      @BibleUnbound  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say 2 things 🥸 1. Every Christian believes nothing is outside of the will of God (read those here www.openbible.info/topics/providence) and 2. To convince me, you’d have to show me where in the Bible you would see that first point that those that are chosen choose sin. Because from Genesis to Revelation I see the exact opposite - those that aren’t chosen choose sin (Cain, pharaoh, Canaan, Babylon, etc)

      Is there any mention of them meeting baby Jesus in the Bible?

    • @winifredthompson465
      @winifredthompson465 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@bryanblackstone7092 There is no mention in the bible of the thief on the cross meeting Jesus. There was huge crowds that followed Jesus, He may have heard him preech, but no mention in any scripture, or ancient prophesy that the thief that was saved by faith in Jesus ever met him. Something here that people miss. The thief that was saved by faith in Jesus was on the right hand side according to scripture, the thief that was lost, was on the left hand side, When Jesus comes again he will separate the sheep from the goats. The Sheep on the right hand side of him, the goats on the left. One night when I was studying the scripture, I noticed this, and I took note of it, I think it is interesting. You never hear ministers or priests, talk and explain this sort of thing. They just tell you to be good, and you will be all right. But that is not the Scripture. God bless you. Winifred.

    You lost me my man. I enjoy the channel and you do an excellent job. However, you start in with God choosing people because of "His great pleasure". So, is it God's great pleasure that others would not be "chosen" and go to hell? He was "chosen" because he repented, while the other thief refused to lose his pride. The unrepentant thief was not looking for a salvation from above but simply wanted Christ to help him escape. The other thief actually repented. He admitted his own guilt/sin, the put his faith in Christ as Lord, and Jesus forgave his sins. It is that simple. "Whosoever" literally means "whoever is willing".
