So I look alot like David Tennant. Everyone I know have said and I have cosplayed a cup of times. Went to a con and I was the last photo op with him. He looked at me and said in that beautiful Scottish accent "Look at you". Under breath I said "Thanks dad". I was full on Barney Stinson when he met Bob Barker in How I Met Your Mother. So when I saw this video and saw him being casted I yelled out. "THATS MY DAD". hahahaha. Truly. David Tennant is an amazing guy and beautiful person.

Apparently it was Sam telling the story of how the show went from a stream to a fan funded animated show that won Tennant (and many more folks) over. So many actors resonate with that, and Tennant did let Sam know after how the fanbase has been so welcoming to him.

It doesn't even feel like "excited" is the right word anymore, like dreams and wishes I didn't know I even had came true and more still. D&D and tabletop roleplaying in general is such an incredible and different medium of storytelling, it is a living story given life by multiple imaginations, it can be inspiring, therapeutic, and empowering. I am so glad to see anybody join this collaboration and to see it do good in their life. It also always warms my heart to shed shared tears with kind hearted Critters of all kinds the world over.

It’s essentially what’s happened here, and it worked so well! Can’t wait for more project managers to pick up an RPG rule set and try to get their team to role play some ideas.

This community helped a lot us go through hardships. Yes sometimes, it can get heated between critters, but like all families (with some weird family members that are stubborn as hell), we have up and downs. The thing about it that’s so clear to me is that the passion and vision that Matt, Laura, Travis, Liam, Sam, Ashley, Marisha and Taliesin have has clearly spread to the rest of the cast! You can tell that even though they play NPCs, they know how much these characters mean to the critters, they know this show is unique, its origin is special and completely different from other projects and they can sense how important this show will be.
First time watching one of your reactions, and it was so great, so honest. You had me tearing up by the end as well. I've watched this announcement a couple dozen times now, and it still gets me. I think I'm mainly just so happy that these folks who have given so much, and worked so passionately to create a wonderful thing are finding success and recognition. Bit of friendly advice: make sure you have a lot of facial tissues (or alternatively, just keep a whole pile of towels handy) to help soak up the sheer amount of tears you'll accumulate throughout campaign 1 (both of joy and of sadness). On the topic of the video, though obviously not as mind blowing as David Tennant's presence in the series, I am super excited to find out that they've got Stephen Root. He's easily one of the most underrated actors in LA. He's got an equal capacity for both comedy and dramatic acting. Very excited to see Indira Varma voicing Allura too - I think that's an inspired choice as her voice has a natural quality of decorum to it

I even have some of my npc in game that are from critical role as nice easter eggs for my players to spot in the campaign. I am so excited for this show as well and was also a backer before so to see it get such a great cast is awesome. I also love doctor who so I was so excited for that reveal as well.

I share your feelings, though; D&D and other outlets for imagination have gotten me through some pretty rough storms in my life. It took nothing less than Wraith: The Oblivion (which I'm convinced is *_the_* most hardcore tabletop RPG ever made, and all fanbois who think that Call of Cthulhu holds that title belt can suck it) to get me through the deaths of my father, my Aunt Mary _and_ my best friend from the Air Force - all within three months of each other - about two years ago, but I made it.
