    I am so grateful for your feedback. Thank you very much! I am d language trainer myself and decided to teach myself, French, highly motivated and hooked on Damon's videos as well, so purchased his Beginner - Intermediate course. The first impression, i was extremely fired up coz I really felt that it's all "insider's information" coming from Damon that no book will ever teach you. 2nd stage - disappointment. I was really disappointed coz Damon gives more of "tips" on how to sound more French. I was literally shocked by his phrase" Why would I give you content to study - you just find words you like to use a lot in your target language (French). I was like :"whaaattt")) No speaking practice and practice of Listening coming from Spotify, listening to french playlist) He explains grammar well tho, conjugations of everything and I'm just 20% through the course, so might edit my comment after finishing it but so far my honest review is :
    1. It would and it kinda should work as a great compliment to books or other resources you use to study French.
    2. His course is great for "Intermediate-Advanced" learners - coz all you want to do at this point is to make your language sound more "nativelike", right.
    3. Don't regret I spent money on it coz it's freaking Damon and he does give a great cultural insight into language studies.

      Thank you so much for this honest comment! I agree that you really have to decide what your priorities are when it comes to purchasing this (or any) course. It's awesome that there are so many different options out there for us to try--some are definitely going to be better for the novelty factor, while others are going to be better for the content. In any case, I'm glad you don't regret purchasing the course and I hope you continue enjoying your journey with French!

      Oh I’m so glad it helped! For what it’s worth, I was at around a B1 level when I started with the intermediate. Thanks for stopping by and good luck with your French!

    I subscribe to Damon's channel and am enrolled in Babbel's french course. I remember Damon talking about his course and do plan to buy it soon. Your review helped me a lot.

    I'm on the intermediate course but I'd really recommend combining that with something else, like reading books or doing lingvist/babbel/duolingo or something like that. French youtube is also great.

    I studied French for a while then stopped but I'm very interested in taking the course once but cant decide if I want to put focus on independently studying grammar again then start it. Although, the less 'textbook' structure of the course could help with retaining grammar knowledge better.

    • @LaurnieWilson
      @LaurnieWilson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah! I'm not sure how you learn best, but I know for me that it's always helpful when someone is explaining a grammar concept to me, instead of me just reading it on my own. (And even then, I'll be like...let me listen to that again haha) That said, you can definitely learn a lot from studying independently, so bon courage!!! Feel free to let me know how it goes for you!!

    How does this course compare to Lingoda's French (Super) Sprint? Which did you find more beneficial?

    • @LaurnieWilson
      @LaurnieWilson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great question! I think they both help in different ways. The Lingoda experience is really great if you want to get more comfortable speaking with people, listening to other French speakers/learners and getting tons of vocab. Since there isn't a speaking component in Damon's course, I actually think the two could work well together. BUT, I think that having Damon's course is good if you enjoy working on your own and want to take things at a more relaxed pace. Let me know if that helps!

    Hey, how do you make the video description looks so neat?

    • @LaurnieWilson
      @LaurnieWilson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I think it might be that I use an emoji at the start of each section? That seems to visually break things up for me, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean! Let me know if I can explain better!

    I'm currently A2 level on french which level should I be taking up ?

    • @LaurnieWilson
      @LaurnieWilson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! I was right around A2/B1 when I started with the intermediate level. So if you think you're up for a little challenge, I might start there? Then again, I know it's a super personal choice (and A2 really is such a cusp to be on), so I definitely recommend reading his description of each course to see if one or the other feels more relevant to you. Feel free to let me know how it goes!
