Got my first diagnosis around 2019-20? Treated it for a year, thought it was "cured" and moved on. It's been 4 years and I'm surprised at how much I STILL don't know??!! At 21, after going through a second round of treatment, I'm now starting to try understand my body better and you're being such a good source of enlightening me all about it. So thank you doc :) ❤
Hi Natalie! Do you have any tips for us thin girls with pcos? I wanted to know if exercising is also as good for underweight women. i’ve been doing strength exercises, not much cardio and trying to gain muscle mass for a few months now. A workout does make me feel better, but gaining weight has still been quite hard… Thank you so much for all your help, I’ve learnt more info from you than all my doctors combined!
Hi Natalie, thank you so much for your wonderful videos on PCOS! I was diagnosed last year and your content helped me to understand what was going on with my fertility. I am now 27 weeks pregnant with my first child, thankfully only needed metformin and supplements to successfully ovulate.
If I only ovulate one every 3-6 months, would that effect the egg quality? I can’t imagine an egg that’s been slowly growing on/off for 6 months is of the same quality that grew consistently for 14 days.
Hey thank you so much for this video. I have never been diagnosed but I have facial hair and extremely irregular periods. My endocrinologist is hesitant to diagnose me because my labs are perfectly fine. I was very scared of having PCOS because I thought it meant infertility period. But now I realize it doesnt have to be that way. Thank you 🥺🥺
Can you do a video on the topic of women who have PCOS and Endometriosis? I was recently diagnosed with both conditions and I'm struggling to find information that addresses both conditions together.
Natalie thank you so much for your videos! They are incredibly helpful! What’s another imbalance if you don’t think you have PCOS but weight gain in the tummy. I have regular periods which I know you mentioned that might still mean PCOS. I am currently on berberine and myo-inositol. Are there other things I can do to improve insulin resistance? I also have hypothyroidism and high prolactin.
I'm 21 and just got diagnosed. I'm a science student and have no plans to have kids for likely a decade, but feel a bit plagued by the knowledge it will likely be hard. Do you have any tips on lifestyle things/ or just things in general I can be doing so it doesn't get out of hand?
I'm an endocrinologist myself I have PCOS and recently got married I'm 33 years old and can't wait to get pregnant When do you advise me to start Letrazole? Should I wait for the 6 month period or should I start earlier?
Hi Doctor , My wife(29 yrs) is 10 weeks 4 days pregnant and her TSH is 7.29, T4 : 0.86 ng/dl. Blood Group B-, BP-120/70, B.W - 59 Kg. Hemoglobin : 9.80 gm/dl. ICT - negative. This is our first pregnancy, and we are worried about her elevated TSH levels. She was prescribed Thyroxine 25 mcg/day. Is this the right dosage? (cause we googled 2 mcg/kg/per is avg requirement), As we mentioned it is our first pregnancy we are really worried, So we would be really appreciate more insight on this issue.
I would love a video on hemorrhagic corpus Luteal cysts. What causes them, should I be worried, and does it have any negative impact on a pregnancy/ fetus to have this compared to a normal corpus Luteum?
Thank you Natalie!! what can be done to ease some of the symptoms of PCOS, such as acne? I am on a whole food plant-based diet but I wonder if I should limit my intake of certain foods such s fruits? Or what else do you suggest?
Less carbs, more fats. Carbs = sugar (after digestion) Sugar = elevated blood sugar. Elevated blood sugar = source of all PCOS symptoms. If you eat less than 20g carbs/day, you will reverse PCOS in about a year. Unfortunately, this is almost impossible to accomplish while eating mostly plants because most plants are moderate or high carb, and low fat. And, this isn't a personal judgment or anything. It's just the way human biology works. 😕
Hello from Bulgaria ❤ Thank you for the valuable information you are providing for us! I have PCOS since I was in my teen years. My period was never regular( almost absent) and I have acne. Apart from that I’ve never had other issues with my weight, abnormal hair growth… I was on the pill for almost 10 years with some periods of a break. When I’m on the pill I feel great and I don’t have any skin problems. Currently I’m still breastfeeding my second child ( luckily I had no trouble getting pregnant and carry my both of my children) but I want to know what else can I take or do to suppress those PCOS symptoms and enhance my chances for another baby? Thank you again❤
Been diagnosed with PCOS after being on the depo shot for several years and then the progesterone only pill for about a year and a half . I have since been off hormonal birth control for a little over a year and just now finally got any kind of bleed at all. I would really love to stay off of hormonal birth control if possible since it has seemingly only affected my body negatively, but it seems like thats the most commonly recommended treatment for PCOS. I was wondering what advice you have for women that are trying to manage pcos and hormone levels without using hormonal birth control?
Do you feel the different PCOS types respond differently to IVF? For example, I have PCO and irregular periods but no elevated hormones. You can meet the 2/3 Rotterdam criteria 4 different ways so what difference, if any, do the subtypes make for IVF? Should different protocols be used for different types?
Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS 6 years ago, my OB advised my case was mild… I regularly am on birth control, did not take it last year for 3 months and had some spotting, but no period. Fast forward to now, where I just got married and am almost 30. Is there a good chance of getting pregnant naturally? I’m scheduled to start seeing a new OB in March but I’m trying to understand how severe the diagnosis is. 🧐🧐😆
Genuine question, if you're not pregnant, why wouod you see an OB? Or do you just mean tegular OB Gyne? (I'm in Canada, so we might have different procedures). I just got diagnosed with PCOS, but im not surprised, and we didnt start trying until age 33, not knowing our problems were going to be this bad three years later. A lot of people say to wait a year, then go see a professional. Best of luck :) ❤
@jacqimcgarry4073 in our case, we got the diagnosis from a fertility clinic - we're going along, and we've started the very slow adoption process, because we know, we may never biologically have children, and that's okay (there were definitely some tears though, before we decided to go in for testing). I can only speak to my own experience, but we had a lot going on in life, and then we realized we'd been trying for two years - we said we'd give it one more, and then go in. You can only work with what you have in the moment, do you best, and hope for the best 🩷 we met at 30, started trying at 33, and I'm 36 now, I would say, it never hurts to ask 😊
Thank you so much for what you share. Please could you explain more about spotting before your period. I always spot between 2-6 days before my period. When my period arrives it only lasts 1-2 days and is light and not always a deep red (more pink). I’ve read so many books and approached the NHS with no luck. I’m desperate to fix my cycle, as I’ve been TTC for nearly 5 years 🙏.
I have been diagnosed to have pcos but i have low amh normal follicles on ultrasound and fsh normal. I have regular period every month but i bleed only 1 or 2 days..is it pcos or another problems
Great video! Lately I've been seeing women on instagram raving about taking ozempic and the generic versions to "reverse" their PCOS. Is there any truth in this?
I just got my pcos diagnosis (but i wasn't surprised) ... I highly doubt ozempic would 'tell' your ovaries to get it together, I get suspicious of people pushing anything
I have regular periods (since off birth control for 3 months)but don’t have any of the signs of ovulation (BBT, discharge, LH strips) could I be getting a regular period without ovulating?
I was diagnosed 3 months before. My problem is i can't even stand straight during the period due to pain that too for atleast 4 days. Can you please say about pain and PCOS relation
How to know if my PCOS caused my miscarriage at 9 weeks? Most doctors wait for 3 miscarriages here in the UK before looking into further tests, the idea of going through another miscarriage is horrendous.
Hi! I recently got diagnosed with PCOS and my OB said we’ll deal with it when I’m ready to have kids. I’m 25 and won’t be ready for kids for likely 5 more years, but it’s really unsettling to know and do nothing about it. My mother struggles with hypothyroid among other issues and likely also had PCOS. What types of tests or medications should I talk to my doctor about in order to get control of my body now?
In case you need a response, I’m not a doctor. Just a fellow (31 yo) woman with PCOS. my periods disappeared for a whole year, weight gain, facial hair, oily skin, infertility, the whole 9 yards. I started taking berberine, inositol, and chromium supplements and my fertility improved dramatically. Please do not put off improving your health. It’s crazy to me that a DOCTOR would insist on ignoring the problem until you’re “ready.” It’s only going to get harder to resolve the problem the longer you wait.
I have pcos and I’m currently taking metformin to get a period and regulate my cycle, so that I can ovulate and get pregnant. How soon can I see results?
Hi Dr Thank you so much for your informative videos. I was told when I was PCOS when i was in my 20s. left ovary measures 20ml in volume. right ovary only 4ml. i was ovulating from the left ovary when the US scan was done so im not sure if this contributes to the higher volume size of the left ovary. i have been TTC for 3months but no luck. I am 33yrs old. should I see a specialist or try for a bit longer. also, can you get a positive OPK result but not ovulate? i.e. ovary doesn't release an egg despite LH surge? thanks
Can you have pcos if you have epilepsy and take medication for seizures and were on birth control since 15 cause they were irregular ? I just stop one of the combined pills cause it was making me more sassy and not wanting to talk anybody.
You talked about birth control pills but I had a Mirena or hormonal IUD for several years and had no symptoms of PCOS until about 6 months after it had been removed. My question is, does the IUD also have a delayed effect on PCOS symptoms after cessation (removal)? Thank you
Question! I've always had irregular periods typically between 30-36 days cycle length. But after taking antibiotics 2 months ago, I haven't had a period since. Can antibiotics affect your period? Maybe it's PCOS but I haven't been diagnosed with that, and don't have any other symptoms besides irregular periods. I eat healthy, exercise, etc. so I'm trying to figure out what is causing this.
30-36 is not irregular darling i have 29-48days that’s irregular as long as its not more than 7-9days then its normal normal period is anything between 26-35days
Hi, I've been diagnosed with PCOS since age 17. I was on birth control and metformin but the side effects became very frustrating. 9 years later and I'm no longer taking months to see periods but rather every 2 weeks. Does this mean my period is somewhat normalizing and soon I'll see it monthly?
Could you talk more about lean PCOS? I feel like there is little to no information about lean PCOS out there. As well as conception and early pregnancy signs with someone with PCOS, and tips to promote implantation and prevent miscarriages during the first few weeks. 😊 Also one last question, can PCOS lead to false positive pregnancy tests? After I got married I got off of birth control and then suddenly found I was having irregular periods, and was diagnosed with PCOS. However, everything I look up states insulin resistance and weight gain are big factors in this, but I’m quite the opposite, it’s actually very hard for me to gain weight. I’m 25, 5’5 and 109 lbs. I currently feel like I may have some early pregnancy symptoms, I don’t know when I ovulated and my last period started 3/9/24, and have taken a few tests now and all of them look like they may have a faint line but can’t tell if it’s an evaporation line or faint positive. I want to do everything I can if it is positive and developing to not lose it. Please help!! 🤍🙏

You should be maximally concerned. You're rapidly approaching the end of your fertility window. Fastest way to reverse PCOS is to keep your blood sugar levels normal and steady. Anything that accomplishes that will treat PCOS. In my opinion, the best way to keep your blood sugar levels normal and healthy in order to reverse PCOS is to limit your carbohydrate intake to less than 20g/day. Doing so basically puts your blood sugar control on autopilot. ✅ *Eat these foods - no limit* ✅ • Meat (unprocessed) 🍖🍗🥩🥓 • Sea food (unprocessed) 🐟🦀🦞🦐 • Eggs 🥚🍳 • Butter/Ghee 🧈 • Salt 🧂 • Water 💧 ⚠️ *Eat only very, very small portions of these foods:* ⚠️ • Dark green vegetables 🥦🥬🥒🧄 • Milk, cream, yogurt 🥛 ❌ *Do not eat these foods:* ❌ • Bread, rice, grains, noodles 🍞🥖🍚🍜 • Candies, sweets, sugary drinks, alcohol 🍭🧃🍺 • Sweet vegetables 🥕🥔🌽🫑 • Fruits, fruit juice, honey 🍇🍌🍓🍯 • Seeds, nuts, beans 🫒🥜 📌 All your PCOS symptoms will be gone in about one year *_if you keep your daily carbs/sugar below 20g._* You will likely be able to become pregnant within three to six months, though. Also, you will lose about 6lbs/month until you reach your genetically determined ideal size. I am happy to explain more, answer questions, address concerns, or help make a custom meal plan. Peace and love. Peace and love.
Hello, I am trying for baby #2 I got off birth control 4 months ago I am using strips to check my ovulation but always seem to be negative, and my periods have been irregular is this common to happen? With my first baby after I got off birth control I got pregnant within 3 months.
I have PCOS. When I was younger I was able to get pregnant. Now that I'm older I can still get pregnant, but I keep having miscarriages. In the last year, I have had two missed miscarriages with babies that had heart beats and a chemical pregnancy. I have been tracking my BBT, and I have noticed in both pregnancies, I started out with great doubling HCG and high progesterone levels. Again, ultrasound is confirming pregnancy with a heartbeat. Shortly after, I noticed my BBT drops by half, and then fetal development stopped. Is this an issue of luteal phase defect? What should I do? I'm heartbroken 💔
Do you have any recent blood work? What were the results from your last: • HbA1c • Fasting insulin • Triglycerides • HDL I'm betting you have high HbA1c, trigs, and fasting insulin, while having low HDL. If that is the case, we can move on to what you can do about it.
@Hertz2laugh it has been years since I have had those labs done. I will get them repeated. What I do know is that I was told 8 yrs ago that I'm insulin resistant. I was also told I had normal bad cholesterol but very high good cholesterol which the Dr was confused by.
No. PCOS sevarity is mostly determined by blood sugar levels. The longer you have high blood sugar levels, the more severe your PCOS will be no matter how old you are. The longer your blood sugar levels remain normal and steady, the more PCOS symptoms will reverse. If you keep your blood sugar levels normal and steady by eating less than 20g carbohydrates/day, all your PCOS symptoms will be gone in about a year. I am happy to explain more, answer questions, address concerns, or help make a custom meal plan. Peace and love. Peace and love.
Hi! I’ve been watching your videos for a while now about pcos, and I have a question not about it but something I find interesting. How could a trans man conceive and bear a child? I think it would be really cool to learn:) also in the instance that he already went through HRT and social/physical transition, and the their partner is not able to conceive and he wants to help or try it out:)

In my opinion, the best way to keep your blood sugar levels normal and healthy in order to reverse PCOS is to limit your carbohydrate intake to less than 20g/day.
Doing so basically puts your blood sugar control on autopilot.

📌 All your PCOS symptoms will be gone in about one year *_if you keep your daily carbs/sugar below 20g._*
You will likely be able to become pregnant within three to six months, though.
Also, you will lose about 6lbs/month until you reach your genetically determined ideal size.

If you taking ovulation induction medication are OPKs accurate?
Yes they are
I have PCOS.
What were the results from your last:
• HbA1c
• Fasting insulin
• Triglycerides
• HDL
I'm betting you have high HbA1c, trigs, and fasting insulin, while having low HDL.
Does pcos effect implantation?
Does PCOS get better with age?
