You can act as if colorism doesn’t exist in this society, but like Katie said these women remained light through generations of consciously choosing lighter people and hence why Giselle’s dad had such disgusting comment against another dark skinned politician. Comments like those and Karen’s comment show deeply rooted sense of entitlement and I can’t see why else than their hue. Someone that thinks she is better such as Giselle will be bitter when she sees that her features didn’t grant her the life the thinks she deserves while gloriously beautiful educated dark-skinned women like Candiace and Wendy thrive.

Black American women are disproportionately affected by heart disease and if anything, this needs to encourage more women to get to the doctor and make sure all their tests are in order.
As a light skinned black woman I am so disappointed and disgusted by this franchise. I was partially raised by MY late two beautiful dark skinned grandmothers who resilient, cultured, spiritual, loving among so many other things and I LOVED them dearly and to see this mess and these light skinned women attack their sisters just saddens me.
