Hi Tim and fin I’m james from Florida I’m vietnamese and me n my wife goes back to Vietnam every year if u ever thinking of going back to Vietnam for vacation keep In touch maybe we can have a group
Even though I am a Vietnamese, I have never been to the North West of Vietnam. The reason that I watch the video, is to learn English and of course my curiosity. But by watching the scenery, I am shocked because of how beautiful my country is. The landscape is stunning. I love your narrative telling. Thanks. Maybe I should consider a trip to Ha Giang.
Hey you two, I just want to say thank you for your hard work and artistry in documenting the Hai Giang loop. I rode it solo Nov. 19-21st 2019. You captured my experience and I'm so grateful to be able to share it with friends and family through your beautiful video. Good job!
Thats awesome to hear. We put a lot of effort into this video series because we were happy with how the Saigon to Hanoi version turned out. You weren't there much later than us last year! Is it time to go back yet?
@@timandfin Yes! I was scheduled to go in March but missed it (due to the closures and flight cancellations) by only three days. I hope Qatar Airlines comes through with the voucher/refund lol. I was disappointed, but in hindsight it was probably for the best. I will head that way when they reopen. This time, Da Nang, Hai Giang (again, I hope it's warmer ha!), Dien Ben Phu area, and maybe Mekong. I've made 4 trips in the last two years so far. It's a magical place. How about you two? What's next?
Hello Tim & Fin, I love your videos & I love the wonderful dynamic between you two & I love Vietnam for 10 years now. I am not a Subscriber yet (but should be) but I have been an avid follower of your Vietnam videos for 2 years because I shared similar dreams to you in planning cycling tours from south to north in Vietnam. You are young & adventurous while I am much older Aussie going on 72 but also adventurous in a similar inspired, fun loving way. I became widowed last year after my wife lost her 3 year cancer battle, and then my 2020 reunion cycling tour & family tour of Vietnam that was to have been a dream realized had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. Aussie John determinably decided that I would spend 3 months in Vietnam from March to June that became 9 months after I was stranded there with many months in semi lockdown & isolation in Hue City. I am just back home now after quarantining in Canberra & reflecting on my journey & also enjoying yours in Vietnam. MY STORY this year is truly amazing because of my desire to both cycle & motorbike pillion for the first time to places that you have shared the passion to see as young YouTubing adventurers. After I watched your Ha Giang video I felt very moved as I shared your feelings I think & wanted to connect with you to say THANK YOU. My journeys this year started on the Ho Chi Minh Road with Mr EasyRider Da Lat and took me many thousands of kms from south-central highlands to finish in the stunning mountains of Ha Giang Province plus cycling Son La Province before I got a repat flight home. Congratulations on what you have done & put up for viewers. If I could share some of my personal 2020 story with you I would like that, and how it all came about. But my passion to do it was driven by you two!
This vlog was top notch. I saw your first VN vlog from three years ago, and I must say that you both look more relaxed and really enjoying your trip more this time around, esp. Fin looking less uptight than the first trip. I really appreciate the tips on motorbike selections and gear. I'm so impressed that Fin rode a motorbike herself throughout the trip and also navigated through Hanoi traffic like a local. Once COVID-19 is over and international travel is possible again, I will go to VN. I was born in the South but raised in the U.S., a product of the Vietnamese diaspora after the war. You guys have really opened up my eyes to the beauty of the North, which I know nothing about, so I will definitely spend more time there. Those puppies and kids were so cute. Great job!
I cannot begin to imagine the beauty you guys experienced on this trip. Epic. Magical. Magnificent. Breathtaking. I bet none of those words can come remotely close to describing the unique mystical landscapes. I think I would have just felt like a piece of me was at peace with nature while absorbing all that natural beauty and I would just cry. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing journey!
I've never wanted to do a motorbike adventure more than this one! Thank you for opening my eyes and revealing this amazingly scenic route. Maybe someday, if only I can teach the wife how to ride.
me and so many of my Vietnamese friends have always wanted to ride this road in Ha Giang but we are always so caught up with our lives :( so happy and fascinated watching you guys just riding through Vietnam on motorbike. Love from Vietnam
I live in Hanoi and ride a motorbike and I have to say mad props to Fin for her riding skill and courage without a lot of prior experience. Navigating those crazy roads up north and often insane Hanoi traffic (especially those Old Quarter streets) is no joke. So impressed! Watched it all the way through and loved seeing the country I live in through your eyes.
Heard a lot about these places when learning vn history in high school years in the south of vn but could not imagine how pretty they are. Your video actually shows the entire area from top which is just sutunningly beautiful. Thanks for the videos which are so refreshing and educational.
Thanks soooo much for bring us along. I know that there is no way I have the courage to ride like you guys. I am planning to DRIVE on the journey you took. You guys are very blessed to have each other, you are soul mates, love and keep each other safe. Cheers.
Thank you for visiting Vietnam. Very interesting and fun videos. I hope that the experiences of Sapa, Bac Ha, Ha Giang and Cao Bang will be unforgettable memories for you. Vietnam is so beautiful through your lenses. See you in our country.
Just watched the northern Vietnam trip. I was in the south 1970-71. I found this vlog enlightening. I will watch more of your channel. Excellent job❗️The trip through Hanoi was exciting especially with Fin’s stream of consciousness commentary. She must be extremely verbal and speaks as soon as thoughts are generated😍🙈 She did a great job driving and talking.

But the upper half looks amazing hopefully one day my wife and i can do a trip similar to the one you guys did. Thanks great video fin n tim we need more.
When I was in the US Navy ('78-'82) we cruised off the coast of Vietnam in '80 on our way to Bangkok, Thailand and rescued 2 boats of refugees with babies aboard. We had a total of 77 refugees with us when we arrived in Bangkok and the American Red Cross came and picked them up. Both the refugees and us all cried when we had to say good-bye because we had become such good friends. Through our Facebook page one of the babies, now grown, found and remembered us. This was back in 2012 or so and she was studying to be a doctor. She told us that she had been adopted by a couple in California and was living there now. Once again we all cried like little babies hearing that but so happy that we were able to have contact with one of them again!!
Don't worry Vu Le I been riding motorcycle all my life and haved lived in Vietnam for 6 months before riding mopeds all almost everyday in those 6 months.
Miguel Valentin you all what I call a remarkable person . You gave up your period life in order to help others through lifes tragedy. Going through life you see the good in life and the bad. Tim and Finn, thank you so much for this video! I just watched the entire video! I’ve always wanted to tour Vietnam on a motorbike. You guys did a fantastic job documenting your trip! Keep up the great work ! Thank you !!! Le
I don't usually comment but WOW. Possibly the best travel vlog I've seen. Stunning locations, just the right amount of info and relatable down to earth travellers. Inspiring, thanks. Well done.
Always a good insight into the reality of any given destination. You guys are waaaay more entertaining than lonely planet guides. Keep up these awesome videos guys. It's really like being there with you. Truly wish I had been one of those Aussie riders who had caught up with you over there. Meanwhile back in Western Oz, I'll sit in the dry heat of an Australian Summer and watch you guys livin life to the full. AWESOME.
I think the best time to go to ha giang is March. There will be a lot of flowers, especially "hoa gạo". The red color is really outstanding in the whole greenish background.
Finn you are an excellent bike rider, glad you are getting more confident. By the way those are the best looking bike pants I have seen in years. Love riding with you on the bike.
as a vn living in the US and rode this loop and saw two casualties on the road, I really appreciate your safety and prep advice for people who want to do this trip, especially foreigners coming into vn. Be prepared so that you could have a safe time on the road. Getting into accidents are not fun.

I know this was 3 years ago and you guys may not comment on it………. But my wife (whom is Vietnamese herself) and I just want to say how much we enjoyed this video. Like another viewer said; that is Vietnamese, she grew up in Hue and lived in Danang and Hue until she was about 36 and never made it up to the area you guys traveled in this video. You guys have me so excited to go to Vietnam now; my wife enjoys Hawaii, so that is our usual trip destination. Thanks again for doing this video and now we want to watch your other videos. We were surprised once we realized how long we had sat and watched this video, very relatable, honest and real. Keep up your travels. Blessings
Awesome travel video blog. I have always dreamed about going back to my home land and seeing the country. You guys are an adventurous couple. Alison, thanks for toughing it out as I would be a total beginner to motor bikes so seeing your perspective is great. Tim, you have a great spirit and make the trip look so exciting. Hi guys, thanks again! This is incredible! This trip reminded me our trip to Taiwan! That misty weather, wonderful mountains...If you have never been to Taiwan (forgive me if I overlooked your video) highly highly recommend it!! you’re gonna like that place! The best country we’ve ever been so far! The food, the nature, people... everything was amazing there! We’d moved there if not a weird political situation with China...😒
Props to you girl. So brave and skillfully done! I know I couldn’t do this, way past my limits, but you’re inspiring me to push past my own boundaries.
Put it all into one 10 hour video and i would still watch it.. more than once! I have been to Vietnam more than i can count and there are still so many areas i have yet to visit!
Hi guys I loved that! Watched it from start to finish. Everything about it I loved! Well done to you both. It could be a dvd easily. My trip is planned to Veitnam travelling from Saigon to Hanoi as soon as boarders open without restrictions. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your trip, it was awesome! Thank you for sharing! Kind regards
Hi, Great Vid. I lived in VN for two years and Sapa was like wonderland! Yes it was raining! Yes it was cold! (November- I came to see the snow) Yes the fog obscured the highest mountain in Vietnam but the hot wine with cinnamon, the pumpkin soup and the wood burning fireplaces in the restaurants negated all that! And, yes, every other shop was selling NorthFace Knockoffs for extreme prices! A word about IDP. International Driving Permits. The MOST Important thing of travelling with and IDP in any foreign country is YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE. If you are driving anything, have an accident that requires medical aid, your insurance company will want (a) a police report of the incident and they will look on that report for info on whether or not you possessed (b) your IDP. If you do not have then you are considered driving illegally regardless of you home drivers license and they will NOT pay out on your medical charges. So, if you do have accident, a you do have your IDP, make sure the police report lists your IDP data; better yet a copy. Whether or not you will get fined in any country because you don't have an IDP is irrelevant compared to not being covered by any insurance when your bean kisses the pavement! And Yes you are required to have IDP in Vietnam if you are driving anything. I have seen so many "Dah Factor Videos" about the guys zooming in to Saigon, buying the the crappy Russian and Chinese rust buckets and telling everyone you don't need licenses. These people give Travelers a bad rap. So maybe you could work that into one of your videos for a FYI. Getting stopped in VN,(even if you are not speeding of you did nothing wrong) they want money, usual in 2016/17 was 100k ($4.32+-). (keep a 100k note in your pocket so you dont show your wallet) They were never interested in whether or not you have any permits or licenses. If they get hold of your passport or your motorbike keys the price increases. I carried a plasticized copy of my passport and and two spare key sets. I never once was stopped in Saigon, Hoi An or Hanoi, only the roads between. I have lived in Thailand, Chiang Mai last 6 years and YES, they stop everyone one, in and out of the city( road blocks) especially the tourists and absolutely require the IDP and helmets. No the rental company for the motorbike will not ask you to see your IDP. If they rented only to tourists with IDP they would go broke. It is not their job and no they will not tell you about the road blocks, bad for business! Take care, have more fun, keep the videos comin.....
As a Vietnamese, I have to admire your motorbike riding skill. Riding through extremely dangerous roads in Ha Giang and chaotic traffic in Hanoi requires both skill and courage.
Just wow, what a stunning video ! I'm myself a Vietnamese but I have never been to Ha Giang before, tks for showing those beautiful landscapes, food and people there
I just found you two a couple days ago. I love you guy's attitudes, characters and everything about you. Your vids are great. Can't say enough possitive about you. I love your love for one another. Enjoy your adventures.
So, i was a little sceptical about a two hour episode but i was glued to the show and found myself not wanting it to end. Amazing job from both of you. Great team work. The trip was spectacular. I loved every minuet. The drive with Fin through Hanoi traffic had me on the edge of my seat. I am an experienced and gutsy rider and i would have probably crashed several times. I am now a big fan and subscriber. Thanks for an amazing 2 hour episode.
That last part was so funny! I watched a lot of videos of foreigners riding bike in the city before but yours was hilarious. Made me laugh out loud. Especially it ended with the lady burning fake money too. I just lost it lmao
Vietnam is truly a friendly and safe country. You are free to go everywhere without facing extremist Islam groups, kidnapping, shootings .. locals are always friendly with smiles. Do not forget to say "Xin Chao" (hello) and you will be welcomed and well-received by the local people.
@@lucylindsey2317 I wondered why the unlucky Vietnamese people could only do business starting from zero after the end of the US embargo in 1995. China, France, Japan, the United States and the Mongolian Empire unjustly invaded the beautiful country for years.
@@sangto6974 You told foreign people that Vietnamese government was bad. Are you sure ? Don't worry Vu Le I been riding motorcycle all my life and haved lived in Vietnam for 6 months before riding mopeds all almost everyday in those 6 months.
Miguel Valentin you all what I call a remarkable person . You gave up your period life in order to help others through lifes tragedy. Going through life you see the good in life and the bad. What you did for those people is more than you can imagine and I'm hopefully sure they are greatly thankful for what you have done. The world need more people like you. May your life be blessed forever more.
This is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful trip. Watching this feels like being there with you all the way. Please keep up!
Fin is so brave. Learning to ride in all those different road conditions. Prop to her :)
I miss my country very much. Thank you for coming to Việt Nam, and we love your videos.
You two adventurers are my absolute favorite. Your footage is stunning and your delivery is REAL. Thank you for sharing your most incredible journeys. Safe travels to you both ♥️
Tim and Finn, thank you so much for this video! I just watched the entire video! I’ve always wanted to tour Vietnam on a motorbike. You guys did a fantastic job documenting your trip! Keep up the great work ! Thank you !!! Le
Beautiful! These two are funny, I smile, keeping watching them, all the time. Happy, happy for them
I don't usually comment but WOW.
AWESOME.
Love you guys. Thank you for sharing our beautiful country to the world.
Great videos guys. Really appreciate the tours through your experience. This is certainly on my to do list!
I can't believe it, I am living in Vietnam for 19 years but I am so afraid to travel like you guys, man love both of you ❤ ♥ 💙
Thank you so much! You guys make my country more beautiful 🙏!
So nice, thank you!
How beautifull. Love the many different views that really shows the beautiful landscape of the country.
You are great at photography, awesome with a drone and just an excellent editor! Great video!
Very very beautiful Vietnam love it so much, it was so damn amazing❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ From🇵🇭.
Holy Smoke, been a YT addict for years with way too many subs.....
Then only tonight I find you guys and your amazing balance, energy, cinematography music, editing, flow, and dam awesome content.....
Just had 4 of the best hours of my life watching 2 of your travel videos...
Made my night.
Thank You
Great video guys! Definitly a good insight for us on our next years travel excursion. Thanks!
Blessings
Thanks for the nice comment ❤️❤️🇻🇳🇻🇳
Awesome travel video blog. I have always dreamed about going back to my home land and seeing the country. You guys are an adventurous couple. Alison, thanks for toughing it out as I would be a total beginner to motor bikes so seeing your perspective is great. Tim, you have a great spirit and make the trip look so exciting. The areas you traveled to were so epic and beautiful. Thanks for videoing your trip for others to experience and see.
1:53:00 - in the off chance you see this, Fin, and I know it’s been a year since, and I haven’t seen any more of your content yet, but really appreciate Your honesty of the experience, how YOU felt, and how most of us might feel. Really appreciated hearing the stress of your thoughts on the last leg, thanks for sharing!
Wonderful edit, looking forward to checking out more content. Inspired and looking forward to my world-traveling adventure in the next few years ☺️🙌
Thanks James, I love that scene too! 🥰
Its a great travel documentary. Happy to watch it. Lovely tour. All the best for Tim and Fin
I know I couldn’t do this, way past my limits, but you’re inspiring me to push past my own boundaries.
beautiful country i love vadnam 💕 lots of love from Nepal ❤️
You guys are amazing. The sceneries are crazy gorgeous.
Very informative, great gears, routes and the beautiful videos of north Vietnam !!!!! Loved the all black gears Finny !!!!!
Best series yet! The cinematography is wonderful!
So stoked you enjoyed the series Autumn, thanks for all the nice comments we really appreciate it ☺️
wow - what a wonderfully filmed and edited video. Bravo, guys!! :)
Put it all into one 10 hour video and i would still watch it.. more than once!
I have been to Vietnam more than i can count and there are still so many areas i have yet to visit!
Hi guys
I loved that!
Welcome back ! Great trip, great vlog. You were lucky enough to make it before the virus crisis hit us!
You have such a wonderful journey. This is the second video that I have seen from you two. Great job.
Great production, nice scenery and helpful information. That traffic can sure get hairy, stay safe!
After so many years, rewatching many of your video still bring joys and fun. Thank you.
Wow, thank you!
The drive around Hanoi reminded me of bumper cars on two wheels. Great narrative Fin.
As a Vietnamese, I have to admire your motorbike riding skill. Riding through extremely dangerous roads in Ha Giang and chaotic traffic in Hanoi requires both skill and courage.
What a fantastic videos. You've done a great job. Thax!!!
This is the most beautiful and inspiring video I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing.
Love the music you guys are using👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
We like to watch you travel and you are one of the best channels! !Thank You!!!!!!!
Vietnam is stunning from top to bottom..
What an awesome movie. You guys are so talented.
Wow Beautiful Vietnam! Loved the music .
Just wow, what a stunning video ! I'm myself a Vietnamese but I have never been to Ha Giang before, tks for showing those beautiful landscapes, food and people there
Driving in Vietnam is like playing a video game. Fin did an amazing job, an average female cannot endure this kind of trip!!!! You should be proud.
😄😄😄
This is amazing! you guys killed it!
It's so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your bike trip!
I just found you two a couple days ago. I love you guy's attitudes, characters and everything about you. Your vids are great. Can't say enough possitive about you. I love your love for one another. Enjoy your adventures.
What a nice comment! Thanks so much Terry, and glad you’re here ☺️☺️
My country is more beautiful through your clips. Thank you!
"And that's pretty". Smart man. What incredible country. SO beautiful. Awesome drone video, Tim. "Hauntingly beautiful"? "Mystically beautiful"? Allison is all that.
Such an epic adventure. Absolutely love Ha Giang!
It's a wonderful view I've never seen. It's okay to travel freely in Vietnam✨
This is the dream journey. Nice video.
Awesome to see you've gone back for another loop. Nicer bikes this go around, too.
great video. Vietnam is one of the most beautiful countries to ride a motorcycle. Welcome to Vietnam
Hope you stay safe in this time.
I’m 1m 20s into this video and it’s already “sold” me on doing the loop. Amazing. Thank you!
3 weeks and I am on the plane.
still there? i cancelled mine cause of covid :(
@@lucylindsey2317 I was planning to fly out from YYZ January 2021..... not sure how thats looking
@@Arrowhex u probably be fine until then
Welcome to Vietnam 🇻🇳
covid would like to talk to you
man, you guys are incredible. I left VN 40 yrs ago. I would not dare to bike there if I ever came back to visit. I learnt a lots from you two, thanks.
Very appreciated; we were there 2 months ago.
Tim is a badass driver, how could you filming while driving.
Fin could drive a bike easily like a local girl.
You 2 are incredible !
Vietnam is truly a friendly and safe country. You are free to go everywhere without facing extremist Islam groups, kidnapping, shootings .. locals are always friendly with smiles. Do not forget to say "Xin Chao" (hello) and you will be welcomed and well-received by the local people.
looks like u didnt see any of the bad side yet....
@@lucylindsey2317 I wondered why the unlucky Vietnamese people could only do business starting from zero after the end of the US embargo in 1995. China, France, Japan, the United States and the Mongolian Empire unjustly invaded the beautiful country for years.
Vietnamese culture and people are very good, but the government is very bad.
@@sangto6974 You told foreign people that Vietnamese government was bad. Are you sure ? I'm just a local resident, I also come from the Northern, I'm poor but I always satisfy about everything in my country. No guns,no wars, peace and happy. Have you ever looked at the good sides from authorities ? Don't be ashamed of yourself.
@@bestbet9651, Government is a bunch of Bac Ky and corrupt politicians .
Thumbs up and Subscribed....
I'm going to Vietnam for the entire month of April and planning to do the loop.
From the route to the beauty to the motorbike specs....
Thank you so much for the incredible details!!
great ride guys! i was inspired to travel to vietnam and do the same. thanks for the adventure views! you guys take care!
Great stuff guys!!, had me grinning the whole time.....Fin, I watched you become one with your bike... conquering the technical patches and the 20 wheel trucks with confidence...the only time I puckered was your weaving narrative through the synchronized chaos of Hanoi. You Rock!
Tim, I feel you brother... Your comment about grinning during the wet ride to the waterfall rings home with me..I love 'it' as well! At age 71 I'm plotting my 3rd trip back into mountains of northern Vietnam......Bravo you two..all the best!
Still one of the best skills I’ve ever learned!!
Thank you for choosing VietNam to travel
Loved this, awesome job on making and editing this video! Want to go, and somehow do a fraction of this. You guys rock!
