As a miniature and scale painter this is the first product they have put out that I'm actually excited about. This has a lot of useful implications, provided it plays nicely with other materials and applies well - how is the consistency of the pigment on this? Is it chalky at all? It looks like it applies pretty smoothly which is not a trait a lot of white paint has. In the mini painting hobby we are very reliant on a handful of brands and those brands still all have big problems, I am always on the lookout for new white paint!
It’ll be great for that use. The only problem would be diluting. When adding water it loses its effect. It’s also very watery which might take a while to build up texture
Under UV light the White2.0 looks uneven and blotchy. Is it possible that your bottle of paint's not fully mixed? Also, could you do a test on a primed surface?
It could be she just applied it unevenly too? I don’t understand why she tried acrylic paint on thin sketchbook and printer paper tbh. I understand that the white printer paper is common but there’s still different whitenesses to printer paper, I have two different kinds here at home. A smooth, primed wooden panel would have been better, it wouldn’t have absorbed the paint or get wrinkly. Who would paint acrylic paint on paper like that in a real life situation anyway
Is it possible she couldn't see what she was doing as she was painting? Blacks tend to be more forgiving but when you're trying to paint over essentially the same color, it can get uneven. I do wish she tested under the conditions all of you mentioned as well as on black paper of some sort. Also, acrylic isn't her strong suit, so maybe she wasn't thinking about complimentary tools since she rarely needs to use them. It kind of feels like she pushed herself to do this video and that can impact the quality. It definitely happens to me.
I know, I was a bit confused about that one. It seemed like the White2.0 was on the left side for the tests, but when Rae was talking about it under the UV light, she was talking about the one on the right. Maybe she got them mixed up?
I’m terribly sorry for this late comment, but I just wanted to make you aware of something super neat. Under the UV, it’s actually White 2.0 on the left! It’s super interesting. The color white is the result of all waves of light being reflected. So, in this instance, White 2.0 is actually reflecting the UV light, causing it to appear darker than it’s dollar store counterpart. The dollar store paint is the one fluorescing because it actually reflects less light than White 2.0. Science is crazy sometimes
I was a beta tester for this release, and I wondered how many people caught the UV reaction. I was working with their glow pigments and had my blacklight out messing around. Of the three testers, only one of them fluoresced which was really interesting. Also good to know that my Black 3.0 was actually ruined in shipping. It's super thick and chunky, and is almost chalky when it dries.
I mean, yeah, it is comparable, but you didn´t really take into account the coverage of the paint - at 5:40 you can clearly see white 2.0 has far less streaks than the other two (probably because of the more watery formula), AND arguably better coverage than the higher end paint on the right (could be the light reflection though). I feel like it would also be really interesting how well the white 2.0 covers on top of something already painted. Getting white highlights on top of dark color is always an issue, and this paint might be the answer.
Merry Christmas! I love the new hair look! Maybe you could do a black light painting with this paint, and other neon colors. I think that would look cool
I'm kinda frustrated how you didn't test it on a black paper, I think that's where white or light paint usually show their brightness and opacity. But great video overall Rae 💙
Having tried some of Culture Hustle’s other products, they are so much more impressive in real life and it’s hard to showcase them to their full potential on camera. But you did an amazing job in doing so! I saw this and thought “how much whiter can it really be?”… and yep, you proved it was MUCH whiter. Anyone watching this needs to go watch your videos on the other Culture Hustle products after this!
Hi Sarah, Just wondering if you ever tried Culture Hustle's Stick? I was thinking about getting it and using it with glitter in my coloring books instead of stickles. It say's Stick is The stickiest powder coating potion! Why they call it powder when it is a liquid, I have no idea, but this stuff looks super duper sticky and would make a great adhesive for glitter, I think.
@@stellajean3020 it’s not powder- it’s for powder coating. So the stick is the base, then you put your powder coating on top. It’s probably over-kill for glitter in a coloring book, since it’s not cheap. But it is extremely sticky and works great for fine powders. I haven’t tried stickles to compare
@@SarahRenaeClark Thanks for the information. Stewart has a video using glitter with it, but maybe it would be over-kill for a coloring book. By the way I have your Color Catalog and Color Companion and I LOVE them. Just wondering if you are planning on doing a color companion with the Holbein Artist Pencils 150 set? I would love to have it!

Wanting this for my highlights on portraits. Curious how the super white looks on top of regular white rather than side by side with a gap between them
The white paint is unusual in that higher pigmented paints are usually thicker. However, this white paint, which is extremely matte, is way thin and yet extremely pigmented. Impressive.
I guess in retrospect this result kinda makes sense. The existing white paints we have are already pretty close to the "max" that's achievable for what we're able to produce, and so the quality gap between cheap white paint vs super max bright ultra white paint is smaller than the true darkest darks of black 2.0 vs other existing black paints now. So though it's a bit underwhelming, it makes sense that it's less of a difference I suppose.
Love love LOVE your hair and nails!!! 💅 I think you should of used a sanded smooth primed wooden panel to test the paint on. Idk about anyone else but I would never paint acrylic paint straight on a regular sketchbook or printer paper.. Or primed a panel with the worlds blackest black then paint on top with the whitest white. Even the wooden snow man should of been primed first, any paint will just get soaked into the raw wood
I'd love to see a part 2 if you ever had the time where you test the White 2.0 against black paper, and painted over Black 3.0. How opaque would it be against such a deep paint? Would the highlights just pop or would the cheap-er acrylic come out just fine?
You gave that paint a higher rating then I would have. The cost of that paint paired with the fact that you had to use different lighting to see a significant difference makes this a paint I would not ever buy unless I was doing something that would sit under a black light. Chances of that are very slim. Your hair and nails look great. Have a Merry Christmas!
It's not that the paint sucks, it's just the nature of the color white. It is supposed to reflect all the wavelengths of light, so let's say the cheap white paint reflects 90% red light and only 40% blue light, while white 2.0 reflects 90% of both red light and blue light. If you compare both paints under red light, no difference would show up, because both paints reflect 90% of red light, so we would perceive it as the same color. Now, if you compare both paints under blue light, a huge difference would be visible since cheap white reflects only 40% blue light while white 2.0 reflects 90%, so the latter would appear 50% brighter. What this means is that even the brightest white, even brighter than white 2.0 would be pretty comparable to normal white paints if under the correct lighting. So imo, this white is totally doing what it promises, but sadly, it's not as impressive due to its nature.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate Rae as a person, her content kept me entertained and happy at a low point in my life, she seems like such a genuine person
tbh i feel like white is already a bright colour so weve achieved that a long time ago..making it brighter might not be that much of a diffrence..the black one was hard to achieve thats why it was so cool and shoking when it came out..not suprised the swatch was dissapointing😂
Hey Rae! Quick question: Super color nerd here... im just curious... what was the brightness rating of your "regular printer paper"? Many people don't realize that printer paper comes in many different levels of brightness, where they do actually measure the light wavelengths, so white paper has a brightness rating of generally 90-100, with the higher the number, the more expensive the ream of paper... that's why many times when you go to an office supply store the prices vary so much, like $4 vs $20+ for 1 single pack of paper... so the results of your paper test are more meaningful if I know the paper brightness, the test control number, if you will..... sorry for being such a nerd... I love your tests and I do rely on a lot of your reviews when making my art supply purchases... I hope you have a wonderful holiday! And I'm looking forward to your future videos!! ❤❤❤🎨🖼❤❤❤
I‘m glad I‘m not the only one who thought about that. The store I work at sells different kinds of printer paper and there‘s the brightness level on all of them. The lowest we sell is at about 145 and the highest at 180… that‘s in germany, we might have different numbers but there‘s definitely a HUGE difference between them.

Dropping in kinda late here, but I wanted to mention that if you want to keep your acrylic paints from drying out in the bottle, storing them in a sealed ziplock bag with most of the air removed REALLY helps. Also, cleaning any paint from around the lid or cap so that you can make a tight seal. And, if you go and shake them every couple of months or so, that also really helps Anecdote: I had some Tamiya acrylic paints in a ziplock bag that sat untouched in a drawer that kept for... I think around 10 years? I just needed to stir them well and they were ready to go. Love your videos btw, and hope you're doing better ♥
clearly? it needed multiple tests that ultimately did not prove what it claims, don't you think the paint should show what it's about and not ray manipulating it many a times until a subtle difference is visible
Really interesting and a very honest review. It's really insane how white it looks on white paper and under the black light. I do agree that it varies a lot under different lights. I would really like to know how the white 2.0 looks on top of the black 3.0.
That's literally the truest grey I've ever seen! Reminds me of old black & white films. It would be SO cool if you made like a black & white portrait w/ the white, the black and the grey. I think it would literally look like a black & white photograph
Hi Rae it’s been two years since I found your channel. Although I have zero interest in making my own art, I do appreciate the artwork pieces you produce. And I love how you execute each and every video you make. I appreciate you both as an artist and a content creator. Stay golden! Merry Christmas!
Can I just say that your style is SO SO cool??? The black Santa hat, the hair color, the nails, the bright eyeshadows, I just love it. To that end, I would love to see you do a video on makeup as art
I would use the White2.0 for projects where you want UV reaction without being obvious on a white background. Basically a Blacklight painting or something on an otherwise blank wall.😂
I think it needs to be reflective like white street signs or safety vest 🦺 . I think the matte finish paired with the retro-reflective look would give a brilliant white!
I'd really like to see more videos on techniques, art tricks, and hacks! I found you from your video on how to paint water and would love more stuff like that. Watching you continuously be disappointed by overpriced supplies just hurts my heart a bit.
Love your hair. Also liked the gray that came out when you mixed them. I would love to see the black 2.0 mixed with regular paint. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
It would've been easier to tell the difference in the brightness if you didnt switch the snowmen around. If you label it in one order then keep it in that order if you're not going to continue labeling which is which.
I've been so obsessed with your gorgeous eyeshadows! May I ask what palette it is? These paints always seem so gimmicky to me, I'm sure they are fun to play with though! Love the honest reviews for people that may be on the fence about wanting it. =)
I know there is a white paint that is like the Vantablack of white where it's not just the brightest, but it's intended use is utilitarian. Supposedly if buildings are painted with it, it reflects sunlight and keeps the building cool, and is intended to cut down on AC use.
I mean, yeah, it is comparable, but you didn’t really take into account the coverage of the paint - at 5:40 you can clearly see white 2.0 has far less streaks than the other two (probably because of the more watery formula), AND arguably better coverage than the higher end point on the right (could be the light reflection through). I feel like it would also be really interesting how well the white 2.0 covers on top of something already painted. Getting white highlights on the top of dark color is always an issue, and this paint might be the answer.
Rae is just amazing the first video I guess I saw was uhh idk maybe the wrist watercolour watch and then I saw every video I could and my favourite was when she drew on a big canvas
A couple years ago, there was a Start up company, with a new nano technology paint mixture. And I don’t know how it went for them , or what it was called. But I do know they were scientists that developed this nano paint. Dang! I could have got some tubes but it was expensive.
It's super subtle, but I think the one on the left seems to have a slightly warmer tone, the one on the right slightly cooler and the middle seems more pure with no detectable warm or cool tones.
I absolutely love how matte that grey was!!! As for the white, I can appreciate it but I wouldn’t necessarily buy it. I am fine with using some titanium white from blick or liquitex. However, the world blackest black, I would buy again tbh.
I love you so much and I love how you have grown. UGH it just makes me so happy because even when I didn’t always keep up with ur videos, when I found my way back you were always growing and that’s so special and inspiring to me.
I find putting a finish like Lacquer, Varnish, Etc. Makes paints pop a lot more. I wonder how much the white would pop if it had 100$ clear finish on it?
THANK YOU for mixing them! This is exactly what I have been looking for! And I have to say, the grey is even more amazing than I imagined it would be! I have really got to buy these 2 paints now!
My expectations weren't high going in, white paint is pretty darn white. The current problem with white paint is that it's particle size is pretty big.
Hi Rae! Love your videos a lot! Especially the ones with vintage art supplies and testing weird, one of a kind paints! I like a lot that your reviews are so honest, and for me too, the white 2.0 didn't cut it. The black one was amazing, while this one is just, you know...white. PS: I absolutely love your new hair and it suits your personality too, in my opinion. Wish you the merriest of holidays! Kisses! 🎄😘
My favorite thing about Culture Hustle is that their entire line of _____est _______ paints is all because Anish Kapoor is a turd. I am 100% here for the petty.
I would think the ideal market is someone using dark backgrounds and maybe even dark unconventional materials like velvet. It looks amazing under black light. Would love to see a piece done with black light appropriate paints to see how the white compares to the other vivid/neon colors.

I appreciate you both as an artist and a content creator. Stay golden!
Merry Christmas!
Love it when you come out with a new video. Such a joy to watch. Merry Christmas 🎄!
Rae is an absolute queen, the art is just awesome
obviously
Can I just say that your style is SO SO cool??? The black Santa hat, the hair color, the nails, the bright eyeshadows, I just love it. To that end, I would love to see you do a video on makeup as art
Would’ve loved to see the white paint on black paper!
It makes sense that it “works better” in direct sunlight since that’s when the most light so shines on it and it can reflect that
I literally love your channel its fun and also I learn so much and you such and honest person when it comes to you review as always!
I need to know what eyeshadows you’ve been using??! The colors/pigments of your eyeshadows are stunning, I love it!😍😍
I LOVE when she does that nail tapping thing. Rae please start an ASMR channel for nail tapping 🥺👉👈
Rae just made “the grayest pant in the world”!! That is probably what they are making next.
Rea’s makeup looks NEVER EVER FAIL ME lysm Rea!!! HER HAIR…
AWSOME!!!
Supposedly if buildings are painted with it, it reflects sunlight and keeps the building cool, and is intended to cut down on AC use.
i love how the packaging says “not for bean boy”
The hair is definitely gorgeous. It suits you really well, especially with the dark clothing!
Awesome! I am really digging your production quality, cool music, and your supercute makeup and hair too. 😍 This video was a blast to watch!
yet another great video :) keep it up, and happy christmas!
Your art and your makeup and now your hair always inspires me so much!
It's super subtle, but I think the one on the left seems to have a slightly warmer tone, the one on the right slightly cooler and the middle seems more pure with no detectable warm or cool tones.
Wow! Plz do a painting that combines all of Stuart Semples paint or a painting that uses all of Stuart Semples paint!
"Not for bean boy" the absolute saltiest savage packaging. Love it
Been waiting for a video!! Also the hair looks fantabulous❤❤
I find putting a finish like Lacquer, Varnish, Etc. Makes paints pop a lot more. I wonder how much the white would pop if it had 100$ clear finish on it?
I think that your final rating was fair and honest, considering the rigorous tests you put it through. Thank you so much for sharing.
You should totally make a seperate video on the gray paint! It could be called the "Greyest paint in existence 😂"
Merry christmas rae 🎄
Ya 🤣
THANK YOU for mixing them! This is exactly what I have been looking for! And I have to say, the grey is even more amazing than I imagined it would be! I have really got to buy these 2 paints now!
she looks so good with her new hair

You’re amazing! Thank you for these videos :) they always make me feel better!!
I thought the title said “I tasted the worlds brightest paint” for a second
I know this a video on the paint but your genuine excitement about your long nails haha reminds me of those tapping asmr vids, I love
Hack- Add cornflour to to liquid paint and it gets way more thicker. Thank me later😊
That actually sounds really useful thanks!
She already did
I was gonna suggest this- or baby powder
@@goldiedxst4459 she should have used it for this paint tho
Thank you for the honest review. Your hair looks great BTW.
Kisses! 🎄😘
Stuart Semple is the best marketer in the world, I got my “artistic license” from him and I’m still very proud of it. 😂
Happy holidays Rae! Thank you your videos are always so interesting!

My favorite thing about Culture Hustle is that their entire line of _____est _______ paints is all because Anish Kapoor is a turd. I am 100% here for the petty.
Thank you so much Rae for giving your absolute honest review, I enjoyed that video so much!

Potential Idea: Create a white box/light box (for taking photographs) with the paint and see how good it is ? 👀
You could make a grayscale painting using these paints and then see how it looks under diferent lighting!
I would think the ideal market is someone using dark backgrounds and maybe even dark unconventional materials like velvet. It looks amazing under black light. Would love to see a piece done with black light appropriate paints to see how the white compares to the other vivid/neon colors.
I honestly want to know what eyeshadow you are wearing in this cause your orange eyeshadow is bomb girl.
Yes it looks amazing, I would so want that colour on nails
Love the hair! Hope you're feeling better--take care of yourself ❤❤
cracking up at the "NOT FOR BEAN >:(" packaging. the story behind that is so funny.
LOVE that you use Holo Taco as reference for glossy vs matte
