Guiding Light 9-20-04 Blake & Cassie confront Dinah over Hart's death Part 1

- Cassie, Reva and Blake corner Dinah at the police station and blast her for killing Hart. An emotional Dinah tries to defend herself against Cassie's attacks, which are clearly designed to make her lose her temper and attack Cassie back. After Dinah faints and Ross comes to her rescue, Blake remains convinced that Dinah should stay behind bars but Reva thinks that Dinah seemed sincere and Cassie begins to wonder if putting Dinah on trial will torture her family. Later, Blake and Ross argue over Ross decision to protect and defend Dinah. He accuses her of standing by Roger even though he's done far worse than Dinah. After he leaves, Blake receives a mysterious letter from her father. Back at the police station, Dinah tells Jeffrey that Cassie is engaged. Jeffrey pretends he could care less but he does. Dinah has a flashback to being happy in Europe playing Prince and Princess with Jeffrey but then remembers how he abandoned her one night without warning.
I liked Laura Wright on GL while she was Cassie, but I think I like her even more as Carly on GH! Wow, what a blast from the past to see her here!
Blake and Cassie had their issues and bad deeds in the past, but I don't ever recall them doing as bad as Dinah. Dinah killed Hart, stole $75,000 from the homeless and set out to ruin Blake and Ross's marriage.
poor Ross his daughter killed someone because he was in love with someone else and still defends his daughter .
Guiding Light had the best actors and actresses. Now GL is gone and they are on others soaps. GL should have stayed alive online with better production.
The women calling Dinah a coward for running off after killing hart, I would say the same for the girl who killed my brother while driving drunk. She was a coward for lying to the police about her not remembering when she hit him
I didn't watch GL or Y&R very often but Gina Tognoni is so damned good! She should be back on daytime.
I think that The Bold & the Beautiful should hire her as Sally's mom and put her with Bill.

Whoa! I’m so glad I found this clip! The acting was so good! I felt bad for everyone here; Dina, Cassie, and even Ross. I could see all sides to this; Ross wanted to defend his daughter and hope for the best, Cassie’s anger at the fact that Diana could have gone free for killing heart (I wasn’t watching during this time originally ), but it makes me really sad that this soap got canceled because of low ratings. Gina Todd Nonie really did good with us as well! I even felt bad for her that Cassie, and Blake were trying to make her crack and confess. Great job!
I did watch back then. The forced pairing of Hart and Cassie was one of the worst stories. Dinah and Hart (Wendy Moniz and Frank Grillo...who were actually married) had amazing chemistry. It didn't make any sense when the put Hart with Cassie. Back then good actors were trapped in storylines with the bottom of the barrel writing. Guiding Light was so much better produced and written in the 2000's than it was in the '90's...it's too bad that a lot of the audience that left then never came back. Those of us who did start watching again were in the minority and not enough to lift up the ratings to where they used to be and should have been when the show was cancelled. That's sad because in the last few years it was one of the best written soaps with some of the best actors on TV. That's why so many of us lifetime viewers after all these years still watch the "reruns" on yt.

@@amyhill7222 I didn't know that. Hadn't kept up with their careers since they left the show. Can't recall seeing either on TV or in a movie. Thanks for the update tho! 😏
they've been in movies , tv but nothing I'm really into .I only know about how they married because of soap digest and Google news .
@@cherylarbon4003, my favorite time is in the 90s before Reva came back and Cassie was introduced. I was never a Dinah/Hart fan, but I'll agree that it didn't make sense, for Hart, to move on so fast with Cassie. I was always hoping that they would have put Dinah with Vanessa's doctor. I stopped watching after Annie left. Dinah was my favorite character and I got tired of her being ruined because Paul Rauch wanted everyone to love Cassie and LW. Cassie, IMO, was a character that the writers shoved down peoples throats.
They ruined Dinah for Cassie!!! Smh

@dontreldontrel416 yep! They ruined Dinah's character to make Cassie look good. Plus, the head writer favored LW because they worked on another soap together. I liked LW on Loving, but I didn't like her on GL.

I would say Wendy was the best Dinah. I remember Wendy on tv as a kid in Germany and my mom would watch Guiding Light on AFN (Armed Forces Network). I had a crush on her and I see she is good with kids

Hart was the result of a Love Affair that Blake's Late Father Roger Thorpe had with a Woman named Laura Jessup. They worked for a organization called The Agency. Roger didn't know about Hart's existence until much later on. As for Ross and Vanessa, they did what alot of parents do, they feel that if they give their child another "chance" he/she will change but never do. Dinah keeps going on about how she as abandoned but she's not the only one who found out late in life who their Parent was. Gus Aitoro did. Looking back she and Amanda would have been a sick force especially when Amanda found out that Brandon was her Father not her Grandfather. I sometimes think Brandon raped Jennifer Richards/Jane Marie Stafford.

Blake and Cassie have done far worse, but Blake was willing to admit it. Cassie on the other hand didn't. This was a great scene because it finally gave some closure on the whole Hart thing..
