Great review as always.The Grim ( in the shape of a black dog) is the thing Harry sees in his tea leaves, that leads to Trelawney continually predicting his doom I think the globe is a seer’s crystal ball, isn’t it? This will definitely be on my shopping list when it comes out here in Australia
I came in here to see if it was just me with the does not closing and starting close and that the book wants to spring open which was driving me crazy as the other ones don’t do that. I am leaving it open flat as another commenter suggested and see if that helps. I have tried closing it without the teapot and the book and it still springs open. I wish we could have one with Luna but they didn’t have any classes with her. Maybe care of magical creatures??
I have this set, defense against the dark arts classroom, and the clock tower already, they are truly great! If you put this set face up on a table for a little bit the set will close normally. I hope they make another one, so that their will 7 total just like the series. :)
The newer sets have a lot of stacked 1x1 bricks that need to be square, the teapot has to be in a certain way so it doesn't catch, and the book needs to be in the cabinet flush, these things would chase it not to close all the way.
As someone who isn't the biggest fan of these sets I might be able to shed some light on the matter. Personally I don't really like these sets because they have almost no display value yet they include really cool minifigures that older fans want to have (ex. last years amazing Professor Mcgonagall or Professor Sprout figures). Its just annoying to have such cool figures like that which tend to be favorites for the older crowd put in sets that have very little value to them. I would much prefer if they provided at the very least alternate ways to get those figures in sets that are more targeted for older fans. Hope this clears things up a bit.

Glad Parvati is in this set. She and Lavender Brown were Trelawneys favorite students in the books and essential her friends

The telescope pieces are used in the dorrframe to allow enough clearance for the cabnet handles.

The reason it can’t close is the cabinet doors on the back wall, the handles hit the pieces on the arch :

Looks a lot better than the Defense Against the Dark Arts set. That one just relies too much on stickers for the details.
