Nice video. I have a similar issue with my 156 2.5 v6. All gears work, but to engage the 6th gear you really have to push the lever to the right hard. Also the first gear sometimes needs a little convincing to go in for the first time when stopping at a light. When you disengage and reengage it goes in smoothly. I'll probably have it serviced and the linkages checked in the spring.
Hello. Thanks for watching. For the 6th gear you have adjustment on the cable. For the first you may have a worn out clutch disc or not the correct clutch set brand. Also a issue on the synchro can be present. And also check out very well if the cylinders are bled properly
Hello Bruno. Thank you for this video. I did similar manipulation about that node, reassemble, clean, lubricate with not oil grease and assembly. By the way I bled my clutch cylinder. After that manipulation I have a very good switch gear speed to speed. I'm owner AR 156 1.9 JTD mjet 16v 2003 2gen.
Thanks for this quick but very very precise video! You're a legend! I've been waiting for this since the clutch video you did last month. I was commenting that I'm going to swap my 5 gear to a 6 gear box on my JTDm 8V soon and you mentioned something about the gear lever or cables also needing to be swapped. is this necessary? As I understand from part numbers, everything is the same except for the gear knob. Thanks in advance! 🙏
Hello. The cables are not the same. The one that I repaired here in this one is not the same on 6 speed ones. On 6 speed it as adjustments. On 5 speeds it does not. Thanks for watching and for the support
important video, thank you (!) ... you made a great video about that clutch spring under the clutch pedal. Do you know why the spring and that peace clamped to the foot floor falls off once and while? All parts like slavecylinder, pedal etc. are brandnew ... its the second time i found the spring on the foot-floor inside my 2L TS 156...
@@alfaromeonoproblem are there different spring assemblies? I bought a used one from a 156 Diesel and use it for my 156 2L TS Gasoline. Nice video, wish all problems were that easy to solve. My 156 V6 auto has a problem, you have to go from park to drive before you can engage reverse, and then after driving a while the geabox fault light comes on and it goes on limp mode, seond and forth gears only. It has been with a local Alfa specialist here in Sydney for 6 months, but he can't figure it out, do you have any ideas? I replaced the geabox, shifter cable and computer before I took it, but nothing makes any difference.
@laurentemelina7924 improbable. Remove the cables, put the gears by hand like it's showing on the video. And with the car in stands check the wheel speed
A bit irrelevant to this matter but related to the gear shifter. Is it possible to align the gear lever inside the car? After a gearbox replacement my neutral sits where my 3rd gear position used to be and I would like to fix the alignment.

Hi Bruno, I am having some trouble with my 2.5 156. When the engine is off, I can put it into all gears and everything feels great. With the engine on it is very difficult to get into 1st gear. And 2nd is also tough. With the clutch down, if I go into 3rd and then 1st it goes in much easier. If I take it out of 1st into neutral and then straight back into 1st it works fine. Do you know what this could be? Its a new clutch and just started doing it after a few hundred miles. Thank you.
Hello. If the clutch is good quality and Valeo only, check out if the master and slave cylinders are not leaking. Try pumping the pedal to see if it's better
