I don’t care what anyone says, this is the best The Band had ever sounded and Rock of Ages is their live masterpiece. It’s a crime we don’t have more footage of the academy of music shows.
I may be way behind the curve, but tonight was the first time I knew that these sessions, which produced one of the great live performances in the history of rock n' roll, were filmed. I pray in the future Robbie curates these so we can see the complete performances. These charts by Toussaint are one of the rare instances where an original masterpiece can actually be made even more exquisite. Because they were so great, individually and collectively, we should celebrate The Band's unquestioned supremacy in this genre, and mourn, both for them collectively in some instances individually, the demise of the original lineup, and Richard, Rick and Levon. "I don't wanna hang up my rock n' roll shoes." Amen.
As far as I know, the Live At The Academy of Music box set DVD featured videos of King Harvest and W.S. Walcott's Medicine Show. What you see in the video are part of some official videos promoting the box set (that's why Robbie Robertson is heard), if I had had the full video, believe me I would have uploaded it: ')
@@justaaccount8738 I have a feeling it is part of the “anti Robbie” movement led by Levon fans in an attempt to make Robbie look bad. Or is it just my imagination?

How could they not have the camera on Danko for the line, "I'd rather die happy, than not die at all . . "

I uploaded the full version today :D
@@justaaccount8738 you are a legend. Thank you!
You should put this through one of those upscaling AIs
Robbie seems a bit pale, or maybe its makeup
I think they colorized the videos manually
@@justaaccount8738 Why? It looks strange
@@barakpick I guess they were shot in black and white and colored for the A Musical History videos

@@barakpick I don't think, who oversees most of The Band stuff right now is Robbie. I think it's the lighting that makes Robbie look pale
