I think your last video was so popular because it’s what real people want to see. It doesn’t take an army of brushes or a ridiculous amount of time. Most folks want something quick and easy to be presentable. I LOVE this look. I’ve always been scared of cream shadows but upon your recommendation, I’ll try the shadows you used. Thank You. 😁
Laura Filby, I just purchased these cream shadows because I have very sensitive eyes and have to wear a matte always. I'm also 59 and prefer neutral tones and there are a handful in the shimmer and matte. They go on easily and lovely was happy to see Shelby do a video on them. No creasing, no making my eyes look older and most of all I got a color in the shimmer called sand glow or?? I can't remember and it smooths out very easily and quickly with a brush doesn't irritate, and drys so fast no aging!
I'd say the other eyeshadow video had so many views because that's the kind of video we want to see....someone who keeps it realistic! We feel like we can actually achieve these looks on our own. Again, Thank You Shelbey! Another great video!!
Shelby, I am over 50 and can not tell you how happy I am to have found your channel! You have become my personal guru for creating a less harsh, more flattering, youthful look as I get older. I never left my house wo my black winged eyeliner, but you’ve shown me the error of my ways as I’ve gotten older and that that harsh look is no longer flattering. You have yet to steer me wrong...I’m a professor, widow, and Mom wo a lot of time. (I also have a lot of allergies.). The Ilia and BM foundations, Caviar sticks, and Milk products are fabulous! THANK-YOU!!!
I love the basics! I NEED the basics. Honestly I love cream shadows. It's all I ever use, but I'm not the greatest at makeup and I prefer things subtle or skin like so I'm always on the lookout for more educational/realistic makeup videos like yours. I love that you also mention what brushes to use. Thank you!
Shelbey Wilson can you please cover primers and finishing sprays or powders, please? The basics of how to choose, when to use, and skin types/weather issues with each.
I have saved so many of your eye shadow videos! You give me hope for my 64 yo, very crepey, very hooded, small eyes! I love all the beautiful eyeshadow palettes available today but I know that "less is more" for eyes like mine and you have been such an inspiration to me.
I've somehow amassed a large number of cream eyeshadows of late so this video is really helpful. Thank you! And I'm one of those people who found your other video last week (it was suggested) and subscribed right away. :) You're not annoying like a lot of beauty gurus, hehe. You're not overly chatty, there's no overly fancy editing, and you use none of those silly tropes. And your style is clean and very achievable for a novice like me. I also love that you use Real Techniques brushes because I only have RT brushes, myself. Really happy I found you!
Shelbey Wilson I agree with this comment by viewer 100%! So please just keep these type of videos coming and never, ever change when you get a million subscribers! 😉💖
I’ve only seen 2 videos and you’re my favorite! I wear minimal makeup.. I cannot keep up with beauty gurus and the monstrous amounts of makeup and brushes and MONEY! I love simple, classy makeup and your channel is perfect for that. You wear makeup like a normal person! Most of us have regular jobs and don’t have 45+ min for makeup like the gurus lol
Thank you!, For the simple, not overly complicated eye looks you're doing that don't use too many products & I can actually do (even at 59 I struggle w/the shadow application). Keep up the phenomenal job! Blessings to you!
I can't believe I've finally found someone who's eyes are almost like mine! It's been a struggle watching and trying to mimic other tutorials. Thank you for being here!
I've watched this video probably 20 times over the years and love her tutorials. I have all three of these caviar sticks. They are pricey but great and alot quicker than powder eyeshadow for me.
I'd love to see more of your caviar stick looks...I've started collecting quite a few of them and sometimes am overwhelmed on how to put together a look. Love your videos!
I love cream eyeshadows, they are so easy to use and tend to last longer on me than powders. This video is so helpful for using multiple colors, thanks!😊
You have absolutely made this technique look so incredibly easy. I am an older woman whose eyelids have become difficult to work with due to extra skin and hooded eyelids. I didn’t sign up for this!!! When I experiment with eyeshadow I end up looking like a clown! I have purchased an ENDLESS supply of “stuff”, for lack of another word I’d like to use. I will definitely try this technique since it seems it could work with what I’m dealing with. I just can’t tug on my eyelids too much but have been wanting to try cream eyeshadow in a pencil form. Thank you ever so much Shelby!
I have watched you create magic with cream shadows for a couple of years After watching you do the foxy eye video, even though you use powdered shadows in this particular tutorial you did a few weeks ago I went ahead and invested in three Laura Mercier caviar sticks. Upon your recommendation I got Cocoa and I also treated myself to Khaki and Tuxedo ! My next splurge will be a lighter one like the eu natural one you used in today’s video! Thank you for always keeping it real, simple and so beautiful and easy!
This look is so pretty and I caved and bought two cavier sticks. I cannot believe how long lasting they are. I have oily, sweaty eyelids and even on an extremely hot day in the sun, the intense amethyst did not crease or melt completely off my eyelids! I did prime with lorac and powder a bit over it...but seriously everything creases on me especially when I get hot. I could tell by the drier feeling on my lids that this was a special product for sure.
Wow...just wow!! So simple yet looks stunning. You absolutely know how to make your eyes pop without a ton of eye goop. As an older (almost 50) woman, I don't watch as many of the young ladies tutorials - one, because of the difference in skin textures, and two, because most of the young women today use a LOT of makeup and I prefer quick and simple....but I absolutely love watching your tutorials, they are quick and simple, yet just beautiful. You are a young woman teaching this older gal some new tricks lol, thank you for sharing! :)
Holy shit... I’m 32 years old... and you just taught me how to use eyeshadow (of any kind! 😱) LOL I’m floored. I think this is one of the best tutorials I’ve ever watched! Even in between actual instructions, you give SOOOO MANY helpful tips!!! I’ve always had a hard time with eyeshadow! No matter how hard I tried to understand what the heck I was doing, it didn’t look right.... at all!!! 🤡 I just bought 4 gorgeous cream eyeshadows, so I need to know how to use them! 😬 It might take some practice, but I’m confident that I understand what to do now! Thanks so much for the 100+ tips, they were all news to me! You are so knowledgeable and assertive. It’s nice to listen to someone who is able to explain WHY certain techniques are necessary. I was definitely skipping important steps!! Thanks, girl! 😉
I just saw this today when googled best way to apply cream eyeshadow and popped up as the first one.Thank you so much! So simple. Great tips. I now see the mistakes I made. You also used the same pallet of colors Close to my preferred! Amethyst, etc. I get it right with powder, but my lashes aren’t as full as they used to be and my eyes get so easily irritated when shadow flakes. Can’t even use mascara without irritation regardless of brand. Am trying castor oil to see if can help lashes bit. Thank you so much for showing an everyday look for everyday women! Beautiful job!
I second what other commenters say: You do a good job of acknowledging and speaking to those of us who don't wear sparkly make-up, or lots of make-up. And, btw, I've been a cream shadow fan for years. MAC's are good but my secret weapon: the cream shadows made by Origins (Bamboost is a favorite color, a lavender taupe - on my third pot now). I've only recently ventured into sticks (have a few Mercier Caviar sticks, also Julep), so this vid was most helpful. Thanks!
I LOVE that you do these videos!!!! I’m with you when it comes to cream shadows. Actually, I’m a huge fan of cream products in general, I think they are so gorgeous and really can deliver that youthful look! I probably won’t wear them as much in the summer because I’m a sweaty, oily Bish, but I’ll get them back out as soon as the humidity is gone. I’m so grateful you take the time to film these kinds of videos! I see all of these “tutorials” around but it’s literally a full face of glam with the majority of it sped up or cut out completely and I can’t actually follow along! They have their place, but I don’t learn a whole lot from them like I do with yours. Plus, you film looks that are wearable and I have recreated so many of them. You’re so gorgeous, I love your style and I hope you continue to get the attention you deserve. 💗💗💗
I’ve long been a fan of cream eyeshadow sticks and I’ve never understood why they don’t get more hype. Give me one of those over a palette any day. Thank you for giving them the love they deserve lol 😘
Nice video. I am very ancient in fact 72 but I still like to wear a bit of makeup. I have never really bought cream eye shadow always powder. However, after watching this and others thought I'd give it a go. What a revelation, having loose skin on my eyelids powder shadow has proved harder and harder to apply and never looks right. I haven't actually bought any yet, so experimented by taking a little vaseline on a brush applying to the back of my hand, then getting a bit of the colour powder I like and mixing the two together. By just sort of stippling it on, it covers really well and smoothly.
I finally spent the money for these eye sticks and I LOVE them and wanted to say thank you! I'm not one to spend a lot on make up, but even at $32 each I will continue to buy these - they go on like butter and the shades are so pretty. I bought the Plum and Intense Amethyst. I won't go back to a cheaper brand to be honest, I've tossed out so many I can't count. If anyone is one the fence, buy at least one. You'll likely love it and buy more shades!
Thank you so much, I've found your videos at the perfect time! I realized within the past several months that I don't like doing eyeshadow. When I need to get ready for work or to go out for the evening, I don't want to dread the process. It's sad to admit there have been instances where I've actually cancelled evening plans and stayed home because just the thought of doing my makeup was overwhelming. Of course it is when the eye makeup alone takes 20 minutes. While I love a full-on eyeshadow look with four different crease colors, perfect gradients, and a lot of impact, it's simply not something I enjoy doing. I've NEVER enjoyed it, but thought that's what you had to do to look beautifully "put together", and I'm pretty decent at blending, so I did it. I was almost allowing my makeup to hold me hostage, which is beyond absurd. The fact that I had purchased all this lovely, expensive eyeshadow and worked for years to develop my makeup skills, made me feel like not using them would be a waste. This is going to sound super dramatic, but I think I wanted to be that person - that glamorous, "flawless", skilled makeup person, like the beauty gurus I admired, who had every brush you could ever want and could whip out any eye look for the right formal event. But I literally never attend formal events, nor have any need to get dressed up or wear glamour makeup. It's a process, but I have to let the idea of her go, because she's simply not me.
I haven't been successful with cream shadows because they always crease and move around on me. I would have to try those sticks! So pretty. I always love your makeup looks the best because they are so natural looking and easy for anyone to achieve. You also don't overuse the products which I appreciate.
As usual, great video! *Can you please do an updated video on great tinted moisturizers/bb/cc products?!* I like to wear bare minimum most days in the summer but want a bit of coverage and spf!
I'm all about the caviar sticks, I'll never get tired of seeing how you use them. I'd also love to see you do some more looks with the Charlotte Tilbury cream pots and shadow sticks!
I love simple videos like this! This is similar to techniques I use most when doing makeup and it's not used much in Western culture like at the beginning of TH-cam. Nowadays, I feel like most popular makeup video creators just do looks that look like they belong in drag races or something. To the point where I prefer the Korean and Japanese makeup techniques due to how natural, glowy and simple they are. You and Emily Noel are breaths of fresh air in the beauty video world 🙃🌸
I am ready to try cream eyeshadow due to age. I feel a whole lot more confident that I will achieve a beautiful look now. You are young but LOVE the straight forward format. I want an easy, quick tutorial and I really do not care if you have a cat or anything else that does not pertain to the video. For that, I subscribed.
You’re right- I think your other video got promoted to newer audiences because it was in my recommended and I finally watched it. Now I’m binging your channel lol. I love effortless but enhancing makeup and so far I really enjoy your unique videos. Hopefully you’ll gain a bunch of subscribers- I am one:)
so glad you did a whole tutorial on cream eyeshadows! I've been wondering how to use them, and if it could possibly be as simple as you made the application of the powder. Thank you, thank you! Would be glad to hear what you think of cream blushes too-- and like others, would love a similar tutorial with some more affordable cream shadows.
I didn't shell out for the Laura Mercier cream shadows (yet), but the Cover Girl ones you suggested in another video work wonderfully! I haven't used anything else since I bought them last weekend :) Thanks for making videos to illustrate things that make sense for real people to use!
Picked up the Laura mercier caviar eyeshadow in cocoa on your recommendation. And OMG the most beautiful soft hazy way to do an eyeliner. New holy grail. Thank you!
I luv your videos! Not only do I luv your natural look, but u provide closeups that so many others do not. BTW..you have the most beautiful eyes and brows!
Really like these pale lilac’y colours on you 🥰 I actually prefer the natural hair brushes when working with cream shadows, not for packing but for blending. I usually use a very small amount to begin with and this way the brush will not get too “wet” 🥰
Thanks, Diana! I’ve been a fan of your videos for a long time! I get what you’re saying! Occasionally I use my old MAC 217 for Cream Shadows but I guess I was speaking more in terms of being user friendly to someone that is new to cream shadows. I just find the real techniques brushes to be so versatile! 😊😊
I'm so happy that these are brushes that I actually have lol! I love that you take the time to make videos that are more realistic for every day. Thanks Shelbey!
I started to follow your channel only a few days ago but already I watched your all video. Unfortunately in my country (Hungary) we do not have a lot of good quality make up product and if we want some special we must order from abroad. But your videos give me a lot of inspiration for my make up. Thank you! I can not wait a new video.. :) (Sorry for my english..)
So pretty! Kiko are fab shadow sticks. I also love Mally's. For anyone in the UK, GOSH in Superdrug do lovely ones. My favourite is a shimmer one called Silver Rose, but the mattes are great too. They are pretty emolient so I tend to use a primer - apart from Silver Rose which stays put whatever. Emma x
Wow! That is gorgeous! Thank yoi so much this tutorial was extremely helpful. I have Julep and Mally Beauty shadow sticks. Now you make me want to buy Laura Mercer shadow sticks.
I like cream matte eyeshadows the most because they look much more blended in my crease than powders do. You should look into the Ulta Beauty cream eyeshadows. They have them in matte, metallic, and glitter but the mattes are the best and super budge proof. Unrelated but I also noticed there’s a new primer by the Ulta Beauty brand called the “anti-caking” primer specifically made for powder foundation! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
Wow! Another pretty everyday look you make look so effortless. I have mature eyes with some texture and looseness and just discovered cream eyeshadow sticks and pots. I'm loving how they look but I still get a bit nervous when I'm applying. I use the Mally and NYX sticks and ColourPop Gels and they work great for me. I might pick up a few of the LM sticks at the Sephora VIB sale. Thank you Shelbey...so glad I found your channel.
I’m definitely going to have to try this. Whenever I use cream shadows I usually am doing a cut crease or just wearing the one shade by itself. I’ve been using your tip for simple eye looks for hooded eyes and my shadow has been turning out a lot better. Thanks!
Thanks for demonstrating the ever so scary cream eyeshadows! I love that you give more affordable options too. I am all for easy yet pretty so 🙏🏽 thanks!
I have 3 colors of those eyeshadows and I really do like the quality and I have never had an issue. This was a quick great way to get a great eye look. Thanks 🙏🏻
Your videos are convincing me to try more cream shadows that is for sure. Always been a powder shadow girl. But now have been digging in my makeup stash and pulling out the cream ones to give them a try. May have to stop by a Laura mercier counter soon. LOL
I did a really pretty, easy two cream shadow stick look (in the car as a passenger, no less) last weekend. Thanks for giving me the confidence I could pull it off!
So pretty 😍😍 would make a beautiful bridal/bridesmaid look too...so classy! I have also found the ULTA cream matte shadows are great for hooded eyes, no creasing all day! They come in a tube/wand application and they have good neutral colors, great deal when they run their buy 2 get 2 free products! I believe now they have shimmer and glitter formulas as well!
After watching your last video I was so happy to see this one. It is the perfect follow up video. I'm so excited to try this. I think I have all these shades, but I've been too intimidated to try, until now. Thanks again. You are a great teacher.
You do such a fantastic job at teaching techniques. I love cream shadows too. They’re so easy to work with. Mariah Leonard did a video a while back using the MAC Social Climber palette, which is gorgeous. She used Urban Decay’s Ultimate Ozone Stick before going in with the cream shadows. I needed up picking one up and must say it works wonderfully. It’s a really great multi use product. Also, I have some of Kiki’s cream shadows and really like them. Thanks for the video, girlie🍃🌸.
You and Lisa J and Risa Does Makeup are 3 of the BEST teachers 🥰 So glad I found you:) Thank you so much Shelby - am LOVING your channel 💕 Tammy Roy 🇨🇦
Thank you Shelby was SO happy to see you try some colors I've not tried as I'm new to these have: Au Naturale and Sand Glow and love them for my more mature and VERY sensitive eyes. Just got them not long ago and I'm going to get the Sugar Frost and keep my fingers crossed I can make it look not too frosty and also that it won't irritate as the Sand Glow did not! GREAT cream sticks I love em! They do blend down nicely as my Sand Glow did so it was just a hint of shimmer so going to pull the trigger on a few other with shimmer and frost in neutral tones!!
I am new to your channel, found you by luck. I have to say that i am really enjoying you, your style, your tips, your no nonsense approach to make up and the refreshing change you bring to makeup application. Thank you! Keep doing what you do, you are in a class by yourself Shelbey!
Shelbey, you totally need to get shadow sticks 05 and 06 from Kiko Milano, they are soooo good for the price and they do not crease or move or fade! I have been using them for years! You will love them!
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I’ve always been stumped by eyeshadow. I wish TH-cam were around when I was a teenager. Anyways, excited to start using my cream shadow☺️
After watching this video, I went and bought the 3 colors you used. It was so EASY and I used my fingers. I am now in LOVE with these caviar sticks!!! I have just ordered the other colors you put in your list. Could you do more videos with the other colors??? Pretty please!
Thank you for sharing!! Gorgeous look!! I'm going to check out that au naturel color!! I use Julep eyeshadow 101 eye crayons (taupe shimmer is my everyday primary shadow), Mally shadow stick e/s crayons, Juice Beauty cream shadow sticks (these crease so you will have to use a thin buff of powder foundation on your lid first or after covering brow bone only), and I sometimes use light colors of ELF contour sticks or Pixi brow bone highlighter sticks. I have some ULTA highlighter sticks for brow bone also. Usually I just use my Julep Taupe Shimmer over my lid and crease and blend above the crease with my finger pressing along the lower brow bone above the crease starting in the inner corner and go outwards. I then may add more to the outer V or lid as needed, eye liner and I press a thin layer of powder foundation with a baby buki brush over my brow bone, mascara, eye brow pencil and done. I have no smudging or creasing at all.
Thank You. 😁
Laura Filby Yes!!! That’s exactly what I was thinking
You got it on the nail.
Yes!! And finally I can use the shadows I have. 😒👑🙌🏾🔥☺️☺️☺️ ty ty ty

Very much easier than my use. No primer? And suggestions for dark Brown eyes/dark hair? ysl b20 , nars Deauville and mont blanc suit me.
Thank you thank you thank you! As a girl with hooded eyes I appreciate your simple eye looks. You really know how to make eyes pop.
❤️❤️❤️

Just picked up the caviar stick in Cocoa plus a slightly shimmery powder eye shadow. Love how easy it was to do my eyes! Thank you!
I love that your eye makeup is simple but very beautiful for normal every day people. Not this over the top looks that are everywhere

I'd like that with covergirl shadow sticks as well, please🙏
Thank you very much for your beautiful vedio ,,, i am really happy to find your vedio❤😍🌺
Just discovered you... now you are my fav. Im 64 yrs young, I used your fluffy brush technique with my foundation today, perfect!
I can also recommend Kiko Milano cream shadows , as I use them all the time, and for every day looks.

Love this beautiful light Smokey look
As usual, great video!
*Can you please do an updated video on great tinted moisturizers/bb/cc products?!* I like to wear bare minimum most days in the summer but want a bit of coverage and spf!
I would love to see some recommendations too.
have you reviewed beautycounter? They have a tinted moisturizer
Yes please!
Very pretty natural and glamorous eye look. Excellent video! Stay beautiful. Subscribed. 😊
I'm all about the caviar sticks, I'll never get tired of seeing how you use them. I'd also love to see you do some more looks with the Charlotte Tilbury cream pots and shadow sticks!
Mally Shadow Sticks are also a good option, with a good range of colors.
Love your videos!
msshypo totally agree. I recently went to Kohls found out they carry mallys. They are really great quality and have used them non stop
I'm japanese, so I can understand English little.
But I could study how to use it only watching.
Thank you so much!
I love your eyeshadow tutorials. Simplify in order to clarify. Keep them coming 👏
Thank you for showing how to use the plurply shades!
Thank you!
Are we twins ! Our love of powder foundations and cream shadows 😍 and our true beige skin tone
U went from sporty to glam in an instant! Awesome girlfriend! Thanx! Creamy eyeshadow sounds wonderful!
Shelbey Wilson oh yes, those brushes from RT truly are versatile! 🧡
So kind -thank you!
I’m a slave to LM Cavier Sticks! I have a really good selection! Thanks for turning me on to them and for this video!!
I loved your power shadow easy eye look & have tried it several times. It is so easy! Love this one too.
Shelbey, this might be the prettiest eye look on TH-cam :)
Your eye without make up looks much much more beautiful!💕
I am living for this three color cream eyeshadow look! More please.
I have 3 colors of those eyeshadows and I really do like the quality and I have never had an issue. This was a quick great way to get a great eye look. Thanks 🙏🏻
Those eyeshadow sticks look so fun to use! I'm about to jump on this cream products train, too! Thanks so much for this video. 👏🏻
Your videos are convincing me to try more cream shadows that is for sure. Always been a powder shadow girl. But now have been digging in my makeup stash and pulling out the cream ones to give them a try. May have to stop by a Laura mercier counter soon. LOL
“Were living our best life here...” too funny! Thanks for an excellent tutorial. I’m so glad I found your channel, thanks for your generosity
Thank you Shelbey, i just learned how to use my cream eyeshadows. They were left unused for so long. You are great and helpfull as always!!! ❤️
I did a really pretty, easy two cream shadow stick look (in the car as a passenger, no less) last weekend. Thanks for giving me the confidence I could pull it off!
Awesome! Love it!
Brilliant hint about using synthetic brushes with cream eyeshadows ☺
After watching your last video I was so happy to see this one. It is the perfect follow up video. I'm so excited to try this. I think I have all these shades, but I've been too intimidated to try, until now. Thanks again. You are a great teacher.
Cream shadows are excellent for the one and done look too!!
You and Lisa J and Risa Does Makeup are 3 of the BEST teachers 🥰 So glad I found you:)
Thank you so much Shelby - am LOVING your channel 💕
Tammy Roy 🇨🇦
I’m a Beauty Pie member, and have almost all their creme shadow sticks. Great formula, great price. Kiko make good ones too.
Love this video ... and love even more that you gave us some color combo ideas in the description box! Thank you!
So easy to put on. I like the scandeleyes shadows I used up my pink and gold one
Thanks! Started using cream shadows too! Your tutorial is very good!! 🙏
So happy to have found you! Fresh face and real people looks! Excited to subscribe!
You are stunning. I have severely hooded eyes and need to try this. I am so hopeful. I purchased some cream shadows recently so we shall see.
Beautiful effect. Love LM caviar sticks especially in Khaki
Such a pretty combo with your green eyes! Thanks for the tips.
I love Caviar sticks! I agree so much easier than powder shadow. Thank you Shelbey!
I loveeeeeeee Laura Mercier caviar cream stick eyeshadows!!! They go on like butter!!!!!! Loveeeee💜❤💜❤💜
This is truly a helpful tutorial. I like the caviar sticks too but always felt like i actually didn't know how to use them. THX
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I’ve always been stumped by eyeshadow. I wish TH-cam were around when I was a teenager. Anyways, excited to start using my cream shadow☺️
Again I just loved this video !!! Thank you . I am dying to try to caviar stick but they are so expensive. I just love this eye look😊😊
Ahhh, another Shelbey basics video I marked as a favorite! I’m all about simple, and you make it look anything but!
Thank you!! Julep cream sticks are really good too! Good color selection too!
After watching this video, I went and bought the 3 colors you used. It was so EASY and I used my fingers. I am now in LOVE with these caviar sticks!!! I have just ordered the other colors you put in your list. Could you do more videos with the other colors??? Pretty please!
I wear Mally shadow sticks and love them. I appreciate this video and all of your tips! You are gorgeous!
