Adding a gasket around the door of the wood stove would probably make it more efficient. You can see the flames around the edges of the door, when it is closed.
That stove looks similar to our Vermont Casting Vigilant large parlor stove we have heated our house with for decades. We had two doors on the front that opened to the sides and a large opening on the top that could double as a griddle or cooking surface. I do like the single drop front door though, Very nice.
I think that’s the VT castings Resolute stove- I have the same in in my cabin. You can still get parts for them and rebuild is easy- basically it’s just replace the gaskets and clean out the vents
Hello, my friend. I have a question for you, if you don't mind. I see you are using a space heater I was wondering why you set it up touching the sofa. I was told that there was heat coming out the back. Are you not concerned that the sofa cover could catch fire. Please be careful. Love your videos.
I would remove that heater away from that sofa that seems like a fire hazard to me I'm sure you have somewhere else you can set it and still received the the warming effects!!
Are your walls really not insulated?? My goodness, how can the cabin hold heat in such temperatures and windchill? Its very beautiful there thou. God bless 😊
I resent how Dr. Gundry so frequently hijacks what I’m trying to watch and won’t shut up so I can get back to the video for about half an hour! It sours EVERYTHING we’re trying to keep track of.
Were there any problems with the cooking gas evaporation from the gas bottle due to extreme cold? I have a cooker and a largish grill hooked to one gas regulator ( propane) and sometimes the evaporation is barely enough in winter.
Ok with all the wood stoves that people have made and posted on you tube ……. WHY ARE MOST OF YOU STILL USING THE BASIC WOOD STOVES….. Pipes running through the stove heated up by the fire with a fan blowing out the heated air…. And why the heck don’t you use the wood stoves as boilers… and run pipes under your floors as well… so 3 ways to heat your place with one wood stove…. Heats better and uses less wood …
That's not a small wood burner, that odd to heat a fair area. Cut wood bigger when u go to bed it last longer.I would get a bigger woodvstove if it gets that cold where your at it is a good size area to heat.I have a 8 hour wood burner, it not going to the the heat like a solid cast stove.
Awesome show.
I can usually use my double burner big buddy heater in an outfitter tent when it is 10 degrees. That wood stove would make it even warmer.
Scarcely roughing it but great cabin set up I’m definitely jealous

Good call , I hope he heard you Bro ...
The door is open ! that's why
@bustersmith5569 Ah, not at 4.44.
Awesome stuff. I’ll be heading out to my remote cabin over the holidays as well.
Soup on top of the wood stove, small.heater away from the sofa, unless you want to see your cabin turn into ash.
I had a Canadian made BabyBear cast iron stove in Idaho in my sub basement within an hour the house was like a hotbox. Miss that stove.
When I was very young, my grandmother had a wood stove with a reservoir and heat
Is it just me? Or is that portable heater dangerously close to that sofa!?🔥😳
I thought the same thing.
Properly anxiety inducing
@@gameyone
Yup
The backside of those heater don't get hot, I've used them for years icefishing.
@dsonnek7781 OK??🔥🙄
Lovely scenery ❤
Happy holiday thankssss
My Grandma had a big wood cook stove in the kitchen. It would heat up the whole downstairs.
Invest in some insulation for the cabin, and you wouldn't need the space heater.

I was wondering the same thing
Heat only comes from the glowing screen that you see on the front. Google Mr buddy heater
No heat comes out of the back of those. The back stays cool.personally I always expect the worst to happen, however.
I say that’s living life the way we were intended to live easy and at your pace
Until you need a hospital, education etc
30 bucks for a used Coleman stove, another 30 for a Coleman lamp . No more cooking outside in 30 degrees. Insulation on the walls. Your in like flint.
Covering the windows would help heat from escaping thru the glass. The location of the stove isn't providing for the best flow of heat.
Flynn
In like Flynn
Or could just cook directly on top of stove is what I would do no need for 2 fires
Looks that way!😮
Good video😊
Seems to be some matters of opinion
Knock it off people. The space heater is in the right place,. It is the sofa that needs to move
Ha Ha!!
Soup could've been heated on wood stove
Cold weather makes hot food taste better. Any food will taste better...
This cabin will burn down before too long. I've seen those portable heaters burst into flames when they malfunction.
I wear big gloves when loading. Hate getting burned especially at night.
I would remove that heater away from that sofa that seems like a fire hazard to me I'm sure you have somewhere else you can set it and still received the
the warming effects!!
Buddy heaters don’t get hot on the back
@@boblee1472 Why Take Any Chance?? Nothing is for Certain!!
Why waste wood in an outdoor fire pit? And cooking outdoors when you have a perfectly good woodburner inside? Strange behavior to me.
He's trying to heat the outside air too👍 works great.
Why not place the space heater on the couch ?
Bahahaahaha
I'd like the recipe for the stew you made.
Idyllic. Thanks!
The wonder of The heat from a woodstove
Awesome
Like the whole shooting match, thank you for sharing with us.
There was no gun play in this video !!
@Michael-h8c figure of speech
Why can't he heat up the soup on top of stove?
He could.
Ive NEVER laughed as much at any video as i have on this one !!!!!!😊
WHY??
Oh, the frozen breath added so much! Come on!
Move your heater away from the sofa!!!
Are your walls really not insulated?? My goodness, how can the cabin hold heat in such temperatures and windchill? Its very beautiful there thou. God bless 😊
Thanks. Pray to Jesus for guidance, miracles, PEACE USA Jan. 6 etc WORLD 🌎🌍🌎
May I suggest insulation
Stone stove... Few words just. Dolmens (russian black sea) and literature about.
Wild forest 🌳 - berries 🍒.
Oh my. Did you come up with that name all on your own? Novel
Do you know the whole rhyme Jack of all but Master of none is often better than a Master of one
Just wait , he might 😂

Why on earth is the buddy heater backe up to the sofa😮
Were there any problems with the cooking gas evaporation from the gas bottle due to extreme cold? I have a cooker and a largish grill hooked to one gas regulator ( propane) and sometimes the evaporation is barely enough in winter.
When it's cold you got to shake up the bottle of propane before use.
How do you have that kind windchill in there?
Yummiest
You shouldnot have that heater so close to the couch. That is a fire hazard
Your cook outside so the smell stays outside

And use KAO WOOL … for insulation….
It is
You have not done much of this before have you

What’s next ? Gonna eat some gummies and listen to Pink Floyd ?
Why in the hell list -30 wind-chill when you are not in the weather. Wind chill does not matter when you are not out in it. What matters is air temp.
It makes a difference if your house is not air tight
Uh. Where is any insulation? Insulation isn't THAT expensive.
It's to close to sofa need to be moved some
can we have veggie food please uk granny
I have one of these heaters. all of the heat is emitted from the front. None from the back or sides. The couch will not catch fire.
Finally someone with some common sense!
Well, if it throws no heat from the back, then how is he going to heat the couch?
Did the wife kick him out of the house?
Crappy, inefficient wood burner
All of a sudden these cabin videos are boring
Same old Routine, over and over again!!
Ultimately its his business.
