Hi! Okay so I understand that I should have paused more to not talk over Jaiden! Thank you for the feedback, it really helps! I feel like I did a much better job in my new video though: th-cam.com/video/WZVMkG47vKE/w-d-xo.html Let me know, thank you for watching, and thanks for helping me be better!
Yeah, it's definitely harder to concentrate and understand when two people are talking at once, especially given that both your volume and the video's volume were pretty close together. ^-^;
For the whole sticking with the Pokemon already in your party, I'm pretty sure it's because of attachments and/or loyalty to those Pokemon. I play casually and this is how I do it when playing Pokemon a good majority of the time.
@@invividcolor That was the thing I couldn't get past. I didn't even get to minute six because I couldn't understand what either you nor the original video were saying.

U say u don’t wanna y’all over the video and u talk over the video I get it’s ur reaction but I wanna see u react to the video Just pause more Tell us about ur opinion and unpause Just a suggestion I know I’m no one to say anything
Him at the start if the video: So in the original nuzlocke there was a nuzleaf that died and came back to give wisdom. Me who has already watched the video before: *Interesting, very interesting indeed...*
I enjoyed this reaction but since I see you're open to feedback: 1) it's totally cool if you wat to talk about your own experience/how good a pokemon is/the meta game but your should probably pause the video so you don't miss anything while you do so 2) you don't have to explain things to the viewers (like the history of the Nuzlocke) since we likely already know since we're watching your reaction and are likely familiar with the original video. Other than that you're good, will probably check out more of your vids.
I definitely agree. I think I will do a video on the history of the Nuzlocke because it's interesting, but I didn't need to go as in-depth here as I did.
I actually knew very little of the original comic, so I was pleased to see some example panels and history. But I 1000% agree with the need to pause for commentary. The lack of it made this may least favorite reaction so far...
I feel like Jaiden picked Torchic cause she has a thing for birds. xD Also, nah. Marills give HP EVs, so Jaiden accidentally EV trained Magnemite in HP. That's how it survived.
I picked it simply because I almost always pick the fire starter. They're the coolest IMO, and I've always enjoyed it. Very rarely do I pick others, and it's usually because I think that Gen's fire starter looks dumb either in first or final form... I've been told repeatedly that Charmander is the worst starter in Fire Red, but I've never had any difficulty with it. Never had one disobey commands, usually trained it to the point of nearly soloing the Elite 4, just super fun.
in vivid color honestly in the elite 4 dusclops I’d argue was her most valuable Pokémon. Pressure will force more PP from moves, super tanky, next to nothing after Phoebe could easily kill it, etc. I used one in omega ruby with an eviolite and NOTHING could kill it. It practically solo’d the 2nd half of the elite 4. In nuzlockes a clean switch is nearly impossible most of the time due to unpredictable team comp but dusclops was tanky enough that it could easily survive any single hit.... except the one that killed it.
Jaiden's video is one of the ones that inspired me to do a Nuzlocke of my own when I bought a bunch of GBA Pokemon games to get me through the lockdowns--I did LeafGreen. I did better than I expected! Completed the whole thing with only five casualties and my Starter lived through the whole thing! I named my rival after my best friend and told him about it. Later when I told him later that I completed the Nuzlocke, his response was "How many of your Pokemon did I kill?" (Spoiler alert, he didn't kill any--I lost my Pidgeot to Bruno, but otherwise everyone survived the Champion battle)
Vinalla Nuzlock says nothing about not being able to use trading to evolve them. Vinalla rules is -You nickname pokemon -You catch the frist in in every route you encounter (if they die to bad) -If they faint there dead and you habe to release them or put them in a 'Death' box and never use them again. So getting a trade to evo pokemon isn't the end of the world unless its on an emulator that dost have trade abilities which many do now.
Torchic becomes the first fire/fighting type starter when it evolves into Combuskin and learns double kick, a fighting type move at level 16, the evolved level. Either you didn't you play gen 3, watch the anime, or chose Torchic if you did play it. No offense, if I'm wrong the I'm sorry. Edit:Well there goes "didn't play gen 3" part, or did you forget that. Edit2: Mawile is found in basement 1 as a 10% encounter rate as a Ruby exclusive, or 20% in basement 2 as a Omega Ruby exclusive. Edit3: Yes it's a 100% encounter rate in there, dang when was the last time you played gen 3? Edit4: Nuzleaf is a dual grass/dark type so surviving a x4 Swords dance buffed fury cutter is a miracle Edit5: Also Maril gives HP EV's(yes those exist in gen 3) so those also could've been the cause of ZipZapZop surviving on 2 Hp.

Yamper is Circuit because I can't think of anything more creative for an electric type and I'm saving the nickname Livewire for a rotom, cutiefly is gonna be Sugardrop, and galarian zigzagoon is gonna be Roadrage, because zigzagoon and linoon's whole thing is specific running patterns, and the design for the galarian variant is perfect for it.
The og Nuzlocke comic is so of its time its almost hurts reading it now. Like a legit snapshot of that era of the internet. Absolutely worth poking through.
I know this is old by now, but Torchic actually isn't as bad as you think against Roxanne, you just need to spend more time levelling it instead of having something good right away. As soon as it evolves, it gets the Fighting Type, which negates the Fire Type's Rock weakness, not to mention giving it STAB on Fighting moves, which it gets Double Kick either upon evolving or shortly thereafter.
9:35 I always go With Lileep too, it’s my favorite fossil and I can’t wait to get my Shiny Lileep by breeding cause Shiny Cradily in Dream Ball will look so good!
I actually had a single ice move when I went to a fight Winona because I in my Nuzlocke I caught a Magikarp and trained to that bitch up to a Gyarados and by the time I got the Winona's gym I had ice Fang
I’ve never completed a Pokémon game in my life but I desperately want to try a Nuzlocke run at least once. I’ll probably lose but I really want to see what happens.
Reason ZipZapZop lived the earthquake is that Meril is an HP type EV training pokemon and Jaiden killed over 80 with Zip, so they still could of died but because they leveled on meril is the only reason it lived
3:36 - jeezus, you're the 4rd blind reactor I watched that's said that choosing Torchic was a bold choice. But at least you didn't say Mudkip is better, so I'll keep watching your video.
Emerald was my first game and Treeko was my first starter. I was not that familiar with how pokemon worked (power, accuracy, team building, how the typing effected what stat was used, etc.) due to only watching the show. I didn't like how treeko worked when I started and did a fresh save file again and fell hard for Mudkip. I have a greater appreciation for the other Hoenn starters now (especially the hoenn remakes) but I also noticed a trend that I adored tanky Pokémon like Swampert, Emboar, Dusclops, etc. Honestly for a nuzlocke hoenn run I think all 3 starters are solid picks. Treeko is built as a specialized sweeper, torchic is one of few fire type options in hoenn and versitile to be either special or physical, and mudkip becomes a physical tank with enough special defense to survive any special attack thrown its way... so long as it isn't grass.
I loved your vid, specially the part where you trolled us all saying "I'll pause a lot cause I don't wanna talk over the video" And then smoothly proceeded to talk over the whole video... like, how do you even concentrate while hearing your own voice over the narrative of the video? I tried it, and couldn't hear anything you were saying over my own voice. Don't mean to be rude, and certainly reaction videos with your input are appreciated, but I would recommend on either pausing the vid a lot, or letting it run and then give your whole review after.
Okay so i did look it up corn was a dark type when he became nuzleaf so yeah he survived a swords dance boosted, stab, 4 times effective fury cutter by ninjask.
Mawile can be found on every level of the cave in Ruby (dont know about Emerald, and it isn't in Sapphire, instead you get Sableye), its just the rarest find, next to like Aron.
Depending on the Version you can pick up ether Seedot or Lotad before the first gym. Mawile is a version exclusive to Ruby. The Sapphire version exclusive is Sableye.
Something I've noticed is that people from Arizona like me and Jaiden almost always pick torchick. Like, asking most of my friends outside of AZ, they usually pick mudkip while all of my friends here in AZ said they picked torchick for their first run.I think it's something about being born in a state where the capital is literally named after a firebird, we just instinctually go for the firebird starter.
Torchic is actually a pretty good choice. For the first gym you can catch ether a water or grass type on your way there. Or even just evolve your starter to get fighting. Evolving isn’t that hard ether just grind in the forest and destroy all those bug and grass types
I couldn't keep watching because you kept talking during the video. Sorry, but I think you should try pausing a lot more so we can see you reacting more.
I still think the true spirit of a nuzlocke is of course the rules used in this run, but also that you can ONLY change a pokemon out of your party if someone dies, and NO using items in battle...
pokemon red/blue levels: easy level; Bulbasaur (good against brock and misty), normal level; Squirtle (good against brock, normal against misty), hard level, Charmander: basically ineffective against both gym leaders, weak against misty.
If memory serves correct the only other fire types would be numel and slugma (gym 4) and by this point you'll either have a Baziken or it's pre evolved form combusken
In a normal playthrough why dont people raise a sableye that you can get since in granite cave back at dewford, that way when you face norman you are inmune to facade?
SO FAR NOONE HAS POINTED OUT THE FACT THAT CHAD WAS TRYING TO CHEER UP TERIAYKY WHEN ONION DIED IN A RECTION VIDEO AND ALSO NOONE HAS GOTTEN SPRKY'S NAME RIGHT
Jaiden made it look like Groudon was much stronger than he was, so I used my strongest attack... and immediately killed him and lost my chance to get Groudon
important to note: pokemon levels are largely non canon and only matter for gameplay. even small pokemon are many times stronger than even an adult human. birch WAS in danger.
Any Grass or Water types? Not all that many only Seedot, Lotad, Marill and Shroomish as well as possibly learning Absorb on a Beautifly. As for fighting types...it would be a shame if Torchic evolved into a Combusken and got Double Kick...of course if you're insane you could raise a Shroomish into a Breloom in that timeframe too but I would not advise that. Also before people start criticizing the mention of Seedot, here's a reminder for them. You get a Bullet Seed TM before Rustboro so suddenly your argument loses all merit.
I will NEVER do a nuzlock. you could not pay me enough. If I misclick and lose my favorite pokemon, that's the end of my nuzlock and my life. Edit: Sorry...I can't get past you talking over her.
I completed my first ever Nuzlocke yesterday, a Pokemon Ruby Nuzlocke... with two cheats... One was for infinite Rare Candy And the other being infinite cash I had the rare candy cheat, so I don't have to play for two hours grinding exp for my pokemon to get them on par. And the infinite money cheat so I can afford a stack of the really good Pokeballs to prevent running out HOWEVER, I am doing ANOTHER Nuzlocke on Pokemon Fire Red WITHOUT cheats, so I will see how it goes, I currently have a Charmander (Kyle), A Pidgey (Pin), And a Weedle (Bell) 2/3 are level 10

Ooooof. Will do better in future videos. Can you give more specific feedback?
yeah @Morgan Jost is right
@Morgan Jost gotcha!
5:25 Perfectly synced "Zixagoons"
Depending on the Version you can pick up ether Seedot or Lotad before the first gym.
Mawile is a version exclusive to Ruby. The Sapphire version exclusive is Sableye.
I love Sableye
Something I've noticed is that people from Arizona like me and Jaiden almost always pick torchick. Like, asking most of my friends outside of AZ, they usually pick mudkip while all of my friends here in AZ said they picked torchick for their first run.I think it's something about being born in a state where the capital is literally named after a firebird, we just instinctually go for the firebird starter.
I just moved to AZ! How interesting.
Torchic is actually a pretty good choice. For the first gym you can catch ether a water or grass type on your way there. Or even just evolve your starter to get fighting. Evolving isn’t that hard ether just grind in the forest and destroy all those bug and grass types
this is a really good point, tbh
@@invividcolor thank you
I appreciate the title!
haha, I thought it was funny.
Jaiden to To Groudon: Get in the Box
Me to Groudon: Get in the box, Nebby
Thankfully Pelipper learns Protect by level up, so the Slakings were quite ok
In Ruby Mawile is on the base level,
It's more common below I believe,
But it's still available.
good to know!
@@invividcolor if She was playing Sapphire you'd be correct tho.
Master of "Can I beat (game) with only (pokémon)" videos, Mahdrybread! WOOT WHOOT!
Also here is comment for the algorythm.
You do have access to tm13 for ice beam before the 6th gym is in mauville
I like how only the birds survived
Bird Only
Jaiden animations is doing another Nuzlocke right now and she might do a second Nuzlocke video
yesssssss
"poketubers" is so funny sounding i love it 😂
it's a good nickname
I'm gonna pause a lot to not talk over the animation. Proceeds to talk over the whole animation.
I know! Not my best work. See the pinned comment! :)
This is the only time someone noticed that deoxys flying in the background xD
I couldn't keep watching because you kept talking during the video. Sorry, but I think you should try pausing a lot more so we can see you reacting more.
Noted! I will try to be more conscious of this moving forward.
I still think the true spirit of a nuzlocke is of course the rules used in this run, but also that you can ONLY change a pokemon out of your party if someone dies, and NO using items in battle...
that's fair. I've played like that.
pokemon red/blue levels: easy level; Bulbasaur (good against brock and misty), normal level; Squirtle (good against brock, normal against misty), hard level, Charmander: basically ineffective against both gym leaders, weak against misty.
Yeah. I hard agree with this
If memory serves correct the only other fire types would be numel and slugma (gym 4) and by this point you'll either have a Baziken or it's pre evolved form combusken
Sounds about right?
In a normal playthrough why dont people raise a sableye that you can get since in granite cave back at dewford, that way when you face norman you are inmune to facade?
That’s a good question for a normal playthrough. Sableye is one of my favorites so I approve of this message
Holy shit I never made the Lost connection.. my mind is blown right now.
SO FAR NOONE HAS POINTED OUT THE FACT THAT CHAD WAS TRYING TO CHEER UP TERIAYKY WHEN ONION DIED IN A RECTION VIDEO AND ALSO NOONE HAS GOTTEN SPRKY'S NAME RIGHT
My guess to why ZipZapZop survived the earthquake? Marilks give a lot of HP Evs
YES! I didn't not think of that while recording.
Jaiden made it look like Groudon was much stronger than he was, so I used my strongest attack... and immediately killed him and lost my chance to get Groudon
RIP. Sorry, bud. Always save before legendary Pokemon!
Oddly, I actually liked this style of video. But I was able to keep up decently as someone who overall talks fast/can follow a tangent easily. owo;
hahaha, ty. I tangent a lot. Idk if it is a good thing or my downfall.
@@invividcolor I guess it depends on the person/viewer. Oh well, either way I had fun.
important to note: pokemon levels are largely non canon and only matter for gameplay. even small pokemon are many times stronger than even an adult human. birch WAS in danger.
Jaiden: uploads
Poketube: 👀
We gatta
Any Grass or Water types? Not all that many only Seedot, Lotad, Marill and Shroomish as well as possibly learning Absorb on a Beautifly. As for fighting types...it would be a shame if Torchic evolved into a Combusken and got Double Kick...of course if you're insane you could raise a Shroomish into a Breloom in that timeframe too but I would not advise that. Also before people start criticizing the mention of Seedot, here's a reminder for them. You get a Bullet Seed TM before Rustboro so suddenly your argument loses all merit.
Jaiden's Best Pokemon Game You Never Played and Alpharad's Only Mudkip run were both fun and you might enjoy!
I will put these in the queue!
*Everyone and there mum is watching Jadens Nuzlocke video*
So zipzapzop had 180 hp evs beacus if merills give 2 hp evs it would be 90×2=180 180 hp evs
How don't you know nuzleaf's typing? It's dark grass
I will NEVER do a nuzlock. you could not pay me enough. If I misclick and lose my favorite pokemon, that's the end of my nuzlock and my life.
Edit: Sorry...I can't get past you talking over her.
I will pause more in future reactions, but I do agree! Losing a favorite Pokemon is tough.
wow thought you just talked a bit over the video but yea you didnt shut up. btw watched the second video before this one.
Anyone else just completely ignoring him and just re-watching Jaiden ? lol
Me, tbh
How can you click on this video see this great hair, and then not subscribe.
Haha, my hair?!
I’m glad you think Mawile is a cool Pokémon. I’m sad she didn’t think it was good
:(
I completed my first ever Nuzlocke yesterday, a Pokemon Ruby Nuzlocke... with two cheats...
One was for infinite Rare Candy
And the other being infinite cash
I had the rare candy cheat, so I don't have to play for two hours grinding exp for my pokemon to get them on par.
And the infinite money cheat so I can afford a stack of the really good Pokeballs to prevent running out
HOWEVER, I am doing ANOTHER Nuzlocke on Pokemon Fire Red WITHOUT cheats, so I will see how it goes, I currently have a Charmander (Kyle), A Pidgey (Pin), And a Weedle (Bell) 2/3 are level 10
Good luck!
@@invividcolor Thanks, Man!
Here’s a little pointer: Don’t talk over the entire video.
Not to sound rude but mawile can be found on the base level but it's just a rare encounter
Ohhh! Okay, I guess I spaced on that!
*Found your channel from this video your content looks amazing i gota sub*
Ayyyyye! Thank you so much. Glad to have you :)
Look he said he’ll talk a lot but he talked so much that we couldn’t even hear the vid
The tailow was based off her actual bird
Well that's adorable!
Jeez, I know he mentioned this in his comment but he just doesn't, stop, talking. Like dude, this is a reaction video, not a "let me talk over %98 of the video missing almost everything". I love watching reaction channels but I swear more than half aren't self aware, either they somehow miss the most obvious of things or do the same mistake be did in this video and just talk over the whole thing. There's a pause button, if you are gonna talk for over 10 seconds, pause it, please.
Haha, I feel like I learned a lot about reacting to content since this first video for what it’s worth. Sorry, I know it must be pretty frustrating to try and listen to two things at once
@@invividcolor nah, overreacted there but you fine. Just a lot of reaction TH-camrs do it to the point you just explode
do you take constructive criticism?
I think you really need to pause more often
it has nothing to do really with us not hearing the video
but more about it not really being a reaction video like this. At times it feels more like "video of guy going of on tangents while Jaiden plays in the background"
around 15:45 is the worst offender I think
where you pause, then unpause and starts talking
I for sure take constructive criticism. I will 100% pause more to react moving forward. Thank you for the input! I hadn't done a reaction to anything in a while, so I definitely have some kinks to work out.
This may be late, but still an amazing video
thank you so much!
How do u have them wall lights?
Now you gotta do it a nuzlocke you know that right
