The thing is any type of rules can be applied to a nuzlocke none of which state you can’t reset and since those said rules aren’t official people need to stop complaining about how she failed, these rules are self imposed which not many people understand the concept of. Hey you're the first one I've seen who wasn't on the stream and correctly guessed what the timeline split meant! Seeing no way to win against the rest of the E4 and Cynthia, she put up a poll asking people if she should retry her save or end the video and redo the run later. Since she lost not to human error but to crit city central, 70% of the viewers voted for her to retry. She did say that she didn't consider it a nuzlock win and felt bad about the "hollow victory".
Same, and every time I notice little things I didn't before. Like mid video somewhere in the BG of Jaiden walking through a city/looking around you see the Prof's Assistant(Lucas? whomever he is) arguing with someone(I've already forgotten who).
Flakes' nature ended up being Hasty, which is another factor in Jaiden's outspeeding Cynthia's. She probably could've outsped without it because of EV's, but it's still "fun" to believe that it was a necessary thing for it to outspeed and that if she caught the Gible earlier on, it likely wouldn't have been a speed increasing nature.
You see, she lost her first attempt at the elite four due to crits, and since it wasn't fair, her chat let her continue. That's why the whole Giratina split thing happened
I think she's probably the best challenge of a Champion, not counting Blue in the Gen1 games. ... but I think I had 'more fun' fighting Leon in Shield. And it kinda sucks, because the games really try to hype up getting there but... Okay, Gen 3 we had the remake and Blue wasn't quite as terrible to take on with the evolution of the battle system. We also had either Steven or Wallace, both of which stuck to a type theme and thus wound up being modestly easy to play around. The trouble for me in Emerald (yes, I played that one instead of R/S) was in figuring out how to get through the Elite Four. Gen 4 had Cynthia (but I never did play Platinum, I only had Pearl...) and she had a pretty solid spread for her team with few ways to get around her ace. (I think I had to Max Revive an Empoleon to make it out while a Torterra dropped as much damage as it could.) It also had Lance in the HG/SS games - but I can't take Lance seriously as an opponent. (Love the character, love the design, love he's willing to actually DO STUFF unlike the other Champions... but he loses to ice.) Gen 5 had N and Alder, as well as Ghetsis. N was hard due to automatically having a Legendary on his team, but you get practically given the other flagship Legendary right before him... Ghetsis was worse if only because you rolled right from N into his battle, and his cheating a-- has an underleveled Hydrageon. I can't in good conscience think Alder is worth it, because he got cleaned by N before we fight him. Gen 6 had Diantha, whose design I liked, her battle music is great... but I wasn't too impressed by her team. It's like she was trying to be Cynthia but missed the boat. (I also didn't like how she was barely in the story mode... either don't show up, or be more present.) The AS/OR remakes return to Steven but he winds up being a little tougher due to how things have changed. (Note: I also really prefer Remake!Wally to the original. The final battle theme he has is a certified winner, just wish it'd play on rematches.) Gen 7 didn't necessarily have a Champion since you took the role and then had to weather challengers. I really liked this. Gen 8 has Leon. Who is both an idiot and not a slouch - if you're overleveled, you can clean him out easier and it's easy to overlevel without even trying in Galar. If you're not ready to deal with him, though, you might get screwed over... it's easier if you can one-shot his ace Charizard, which is harder since it G-Maxes on you as soon as he gets it out. I dunno, like I said. I had the most fun fighting Leon (as opposed to curbstomping a Champion like Lance...) but I think Cynthia was just the most challenging. Wish the next games can bring that sort of challenge back.
When she encountered the Gible in Wayward Cave, she actually used dupes clause and previously caught everything that you can encounter there to guarantee a Gible. Plus, she actually didn't intend to throw the pokeball at Oops, she meant to run.
For the Gible encounter, I understand that she actually and intentionally managed to set it up so that she had previously caught every other pokemon that appears in the cave, so by the duplicates clause she was guaranteed it would be her encounter.
Jaiden lost to terrible luck in her first run of the elite four, but the stream chat told her to try again because it was her birthday and they wanted to see her team prevail. Hence the “Even if you think I deserve this timeline, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to accept it.” It’s clear that she appreciates what her fans tried to do, giving her story a happy ending… but was that really how HER story ended?
Hey! Been binging reaction vids to this vid and let me tell you, you have been the most interesting TH-camr to see reacting to it, i love your input and the quality of the commentary and production value, you earned a new sub and I sincerely think you deserve waaay more subs, gonna be watching your vids from now on; Greetings from Ecuador!
0:30 "What is your favorite Gen 4 Pokemon?" ... Giratina. It's adorable. It's altered form looks like a fat squishy huggable floating snek and I love it. Also love the power it has obviously.
For the gible encounter she manipulated it by knowing what other mons spawned there and caught them in other routes to force dupes until she could get the gible
Jaiden was using the dupes clause, in this video she doesn’t specify for brevity’s sake but during the streams she had planned out which Pokemon she would need to have already caught in order to keep searching for gible until it showed up which made it hurt even more that bite crit it. All that planning and careful execution for nothing! As for Oops, if I remember right I believe she would’ve used the species clause, but because of her misclick it was a “you dance with the one that brought you” situation.
I've watched 5-6 of these reactions to this animation now, and I think you're the only guy that got what the giratina thing meant. Good on you for picking up on that! You're also the only one that I noticed that reacted to her slight glitch-out right before Cynthia, too.
Regarding Oops the Wooper: I think Jaiden plays by a variation on the species clause where if you encounter a 'mon from the same line as one you have, you can run away and re-encounter, but if you catch it, then it's your only encounter since it's your fault you caught it.
respect you dude for actually going the extra mile and see what the ending was about to put it in the reaction video, i think you are the 3rd out of 7th reactions i watched so far who did that which i give you mad respect for and appreciate. Keep up the great work and have a wonderful time! :D
And now a word from our sponsor: Scope Lens Are you tired of way too few crits in your game but you don't want to waste a turn on Dire Hit or Energy look no further and buy Scope Lens and if you use the link in the description all opposing mons in the story are modded to carry a scope lens as well
I couldn’t agree more about Volkner. He is my all time favorite gym leader. And his ace Electivire (my all time favorite Pokémon) always has an entrance of blue fire as it comes in. Which I love. Hope they recreate that when the inevitable remakes happen. Electivire is a boss I wish more people tried. Even if it’s in bad need of set up moves and could use some updated coverage and stab. Its stats are still just below a pseudo legendary dammit.
My favorite Pokémon in the Sinnoh region is Gallade. I met a Gallade before I met my old trainer, and he helped me recover after a bad run-in with some Grass-types
Also, I’m pretty sure Shrimp the Scisor could’ve swept the ice gym. Neutral to ground and resists ghost-type moves since this is Gen IV. Failure didn’t have to die.
I remember you saying you like reading about little animations you may of missed during your first watch? I'm not sure if you noticed but at 28:30 during her praying that Milk's "thunder" will hit you can see shes praying too Areceus (like praying too God it would hit) in her little word bubble. I thought that was a nice touch :)
True statement. Bertha’s Rhyperior was a overall brutal maniac. And her magnezone, scizor and turt was burned by a overall weakness that she lost the other 3 too
Yeah the thing with Jaiden's Gible encounter is that she planned for it. She took advantage of the rule that says you can retry your encounters if you already have the Pokemon you meet. So she got every other pokemon in that cave so she could purposefully hunt for Gible without breaking the rules
As for the Scizor in the ice gym. She realized a little bit later that adding steel type meant it wasn't flying type anymore so during the gym she still thought it was weak to ice.
professor Rowan: "Do you have a death wish? Them starly love to go for the eyes and Shinx can shut down organs with its shocks! You need to respect pokemon." Professor Oak: "Happy Birthday! Here's a dragon!"
To get the gibble in a nuzlock you pretty much have to stack your previous catches so that you can ignore the rest of the pokemon in the area through the species clause...or have the luck of a shining, golden god.
Yeah you were right her Quagsire, Garchomp, and Togakiss all got crit back to pack leaving Torterra, Magnazone, and Scizor for the fire Elite 4 member so she admitted defeat
It actually seems as though she caught the wooper by accident instead of running away to find a different encounter. She said she accidentally threw a ball at a wooper meaning that she thought she could reencounter instead of catching the wooper
In the streams, she talks about the fact that she forced dupes clause to get the Gibble. By the time she got to the cave, she caught everything else besides the Gibble, which made it her only possible encounter there.
For ppl who didn't understand the end, Jaiden actually lost at Elite four because: 1) Heracross crit Stone Edge on Togekiss 2) Quagsire and Garchomp died to Rhypherior's Earthquake and Avalanche respectively( Garchomp's Dig didn't kill and Avalanche got him in exchange while Quagsire was crit by Earthquake) 3) Other 3 pokemon would've died against Flint cuz all of them were weak to fire
I did the same thing with a Pokémon gold nuzlocke at one point. I had a solid strategy going into the fight with Clair, but made a critical error which ended in me just missing a one shot ko on her kingdra, and lost 4 Pokémon in the battle. So I reset and tried again, fixing the error, and won with just one, intended, death. But I ended up boxing all the ones that died in the first attempt and tried moving forward from there with only a graveler and typhlosion, and ran into 4 water trainers on my way to victory road. Also, if anyone was interested, my strategy was to use electrode with silk scarf to explode on kingdra, but I forgot to equip the silk scarf and it left her with a sliver of hp.
As I understand it. -Colgate got stone edge crit by heracross - oops got crit by rhyperior - Her Garchomp tried digging rhyperior and it earthquaked She never tried fighting Flint
Okay, so funny thing about the starters in Gen 4, at least to me. My first starter was chimchar, and it was cool for my first time playing a pokemon game, but as I got older, I started to prefer water and grass pokemon, and ever since, turtwig has been my favorite sinnoh starter.
I know this is 6 months old, but my favourite sinnoh pokemon is drapion for the simple fact that it only has one weakness, and unlike other one weaknesses (bug-steel) it's not a quad weakness.
34:24 i use the Scizor set, but on Breloom instead, it's the same concept, but band technician Mach punch, i've made people joke about banning breloom from our local closed tournaments cuz it hits like a truck

(Love the character, love the design, love he's willing to actually DO STUFF unlike the other Champions... but he loses to ice.)
Gen 5 had N and Alder, as well as Ghetsis.
The final battle theme he has is a certified winner, just wish it'd play on rematches.)
Gen 7 didn't necessarily have a Champion since you took the role and then had to weather challengers.
What I love about reactions to this nuzlock is that every time Jaiden says, “Hi,” everyone says hi back! I absolutely love it!
I get more emotionally invested in her nuzlocke animations then I ever have in my own playthroughs.
Jaiden lost to terrible luck in her first run of the elite four, but the stream chat told her to try again because it was her birthday and they wanted to see her team prevail.
Hence the “Even if you think I deserve this timeline, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to accept it.”
It’s clear that she appreciates what her fans tried to do, giving her story a happy ending… but was that really how HER story ended?
you’re the first reactor I’ve seen to guess the secret of the ending
Wow, thank you! Super kind of you!
@@invividcolor Very welcome!, thanks for your answer and the heart thingy
Same for me for all of the above.
Except for the Ecuador part, I suppose. Have an Indonesian greeting instead.
I fully cried at the end Jaidens animation when I first watched it T_T

"What is your favorite Gen 4 Pokemon?"
...
Giratina. It's adorable. It's altered form looks like a fat squishy huggable floating snek and I love it.
Also love the power it has obviously.
My fav is Mismagius, I love Misdreavus and to see my Fav Ghost type from when I was growing up get an evolved form I was so dam happy
Love Misdreavus!!!!
0:26 Glaceon and Leafeon
I mean its my favorite types as eeveelutions so ofc I'm gonna like them-
For the gible encounter she manipulated it by knowing what other mons spawned there and caught them in other routes to force dupes until she could get the gible
That's not really manipulating it, that's just good Nuzlocke preparation to be honest.
Honestly, good on her to re-try the elite 4 even if she lost. She made a really compelling story out of it.
Jaiden probably didn't know that Night Slash has an increased crit chance, which explains the 2 critical hits at 11:08.
Vivid: Barry is one of the annoying rivals
Me: stupid is a annoying rival
Oak: QUIET STUPID YOULL GET ONE NEXT
I've watched 5-6 of these reactions to this animation now, and I think you're the only guy that got what the giratina thing meant. Good on you for picking up on that! You're also the only one that I noticed that reacted to her slight glitch-out right before Cynthia, too.
Haha, just good visual storytelling on Jaiden's end! Thank you though!
Regarding Oops the Wooper: I think Jaiden plays by a variation on the species clause where if you encounter a 'mon from the same line as one you have, you can run away and re-encounter, but if you catch it, then it's your only encounter since it's your fault you caught it.
Here's a question how does the Escape rope get us out of the caves when you can't tie it to a place
respect you dude for actually going the extra mile and see what the ending was about to put it in the reaction video, i think you are the 3rd out of 7th reactions i watched so far who did that which i give you mad respect for and appreciate. Keep up the great work and have a wonderful time! :D
And now a word from our sponsor: Scope Lens
Are you tired of way too few crits in your game
but you don't want to waste a turn on Dire Hit or Energy
look no further and buy Scope Lens
and if you use the link in the description all opposing mons
in the story are modded to carry a scope lens as well
This animation was fun to watch but also sad after knowing what had happened.
4:36 awkward silence
Hahaha, I just noticed this. Missed in editing
4:10
Rowan: I know you'll jump into the tall grass the second my back is turned, and I cannot stop you, so fckn... take these or something
Commenting before watching: Ooh, this was a good one! Looking forward to seeing your reaction. Happy Holidays!
As someone who's doing a Pokémon platinum nuzlocke. These crits are SPOT ON, Gen 4's crit rates are certified insane.
My favorite Pokémon in the Sinnoh region is Gallade. I met a Gallade before I met my old trainer, and he helped me recover after a bad run-in with some Grass-types
I've never managed to finish a nuzlocke because I forget half way through that I'm doing a nuzlocke. Lol 😅
I always name myself Nuzlocke in the game so I never forget.
@@ethnictendo I never thought to do that. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to do that next time.
Also, I’m pretty sure Shrimp the Scisor could’ve swept the ice gym. Neutral to ground and resists ghost-type moves since this is Gen IV. Failure didn’t have to die.
Remember,that’s a frostlass w/hail. That thing does D A M A G E .
@@The_funny_person Blizzard’s damaged isnt boosted by Hail.
@@koolkittykat04 Still,it does pack a punch.
Im also a big fan of Toxicroak too and loved that Marnier had one since she is one of my favorite characters.
As far as I know, this happened when her chat told her they would give her another chance
True statement. Bertha’s Rhyperior was a overall brutal maniac. And her magnezone, scizor and turt was burned by a overall weakness that she lost the other 3 too
She had caught everything from the cave elsewhere using the “doops clause” forcing gible being the only Pokémon left to catch in the cave
Favourite Gen 4 Pokémon is, hands down, Giratina because they're just the Pokémon equivalent of Lucifer.
she actually was playing with dupe clause, which I think is how she got the gibble.
Man Jaiden SHOULD re-do the pokemon anime via animated Nuzlockes of every game in order lol.
So another thing about Big Boy’s death: Big Boy was Tail Whipped by the Ponyta before the Flame Wheel. With a crit, there was no way he could live...
"A glass of tea"
My dissapointment is imeasurable......
Wait - you don’t like tea?
@@invividcolor i love tea, its Just that you said "A glass of tea" and not "A cup of tea"
And my day is ruined
@@Oddity2994 was still a good vid that's why i didn't add that XD
4:58 yup. Her Torchic kept killing Zigzagoons til one killed her Nuzleaf.
professor Rowan: "Do you have a death wish? Them starly love to go for the eyes and Shinx can shut down organs with its shocks! You need to respect pokemon."
Professor Oak: "Happy Birthday! Here's a dragon!"
Glad you went back and checked up on what the ending was about. Adds to the reaction. Great video
Thank you so much! I just had to know!
I’m pretty sure all of Pokémon TH-cam has reacted to this video
Yeh, haha, hence the title
To get the gibble in a nuzlock you pretty much have to stack your previous catches so that you can ignore the rest of the pokemon in the area through the species clause...or have the luck of a shining, golden god.
i can't tell you how many times i've watched her platinum nuzlocke video never felt like crying
I love Jaiden’s videos it’s really cool that she lets people react to the video. I love your reactions as always. Very wholesome ❤️
Yeah you were right her Quagsire, Garchomp, and Togakiss all got crit back to pack leaving Torterra, Magnazone, and Scizor for the fire Elite 4 member so she admitted defeat
I'm surprised he didn't question the quagsire getting hurt by thunderbolt
It actually seems as though she caught the wooper by accident instead of running away to find a different encounter. She said she accidentally threw a ball at a wooper meaning that she thought she could reencounter instead of catching the wooper
It's like all the NPC pokemon in Platinum have my Inteleon's crit-based build.
5:09
Vivid: Shinxs intimidate is good
Jaiden: shinx isnt that good this early anyways
Turtwig was my first ever Pokémon in Pokémon brilliant diamond and I have always chose the grass type as my starter ever since
In the streams, she talks about the fact that she forced dupes clause to get the Gibble. By the time she got to the cave, she caught everything else besides the Gibble, which made it her only possible encounter there.
Ohhhhh. That makes it somehow so much worse
@@invividcolor Yeeeeah, she spent a good amount of time looking for it lol.
For ppl who didn't understand the end, Jaiden actually lost at Elite four because:
1) Heracross crit Stone Edge on Togekiss
2) Quagsire and Garchomp died to Rhypherior's Earthquake and Avalanche respectively( Garchomp's Dig didn't kill and Avalanche got him in exchange while Quagsire was crit by Earthquake)
3) Other 3 pokemon would've died against Flint cuz all of them were weak to fire
She was playing with dupes clause and caught all Pokémon which appear in wayward cave beforehand to ensure a 100% encounter with gible.
When u said the ridiculous DONT forget the utterly ridiculous if ur a queen bee fan
21:25
"Nooooooooooo"
Jaiden: "yyyup :)"
-Colgate got stone edge crit by heracross
- oops got crit by rhyperior
- Her Garchomp tried digging rhyperior and it earthquaked
She never tried fighting Flint
15:45 in the stream itself she mentioned dups claus but she quite literally accidently hit the Throw button in the game and caught it 🤣
Okay, so funny thing about the starters in Gen 4, at least to me.
Breloom is STRONG
I knooooooow, it even survived a bullet punch from a sword dance boosted mega scizor bullet punch on one of the rounds, and just pulled off the 1v4
This man is rocking a good mic no backround noices explains alot mostly everything for the new viewers why does he not have over 100k keep the good work up :)
I like how she did the losing to the elite 4 thing
I like how it was handled
In Barry’s Defense he’s a lot more tolerable in the anime
