Resolving the aliasing issue on the engine running PCars would probably require TAA or DLSS2. There's simply a lot of shimmer due to high frequency details and specular properties of the materials. TAA is quite disgustingly blurry however but for users not using NVIDIA would probably be the only fix.
If you have a Nvidia card, disable all AA and post AA in the game, then enable FXAA and MSAA with MFAA in the Nvidia control panel. This both looks better, and is easier on performance (more fps) than using the in-game options.
Look at the console versions.. I’m playing on PS4 Pro, and it’s probably the worst aliasing I have ever seen in a game. Normally I don’t care a whole lot about graphics, but this time, it’s genuinely distracting, and takes away from the experience. Which sucks, because I really do enjoy this game. It’s a nice change of pace
I'm a Project Cars 2 fan, 625 hours played, and I was *SO* buzzing when I found out PC3 would be released for existing consoles. And now I'm disappointed.
Project CARS 2 was a really hard to master sim. Not as good of a sim as iRacing or Assetto Corsa, but its hard handling made it tough to master. Meanwhile, they flipped the book with Project CARS 3. It's no longer a simulator, and is even more of an arcade racer than both Forza series. It's very close to GRID 2019 in terms of how much of an arcade it is.
PC 3 looks over exposed. It makes the background look very cheap and is just more blurry than 1 or 2 at 1080p. I play at 1080p because I like the higher frame rate at that resolution, but in PC 3 it looks like I have it at a lower resolution ( like 720p) and things in the distance are completely out of focus. With the blown out lighting and out of focus distance the pop in really stands out. I hope an update will fix this. Another issue I have with PC 3 in the sound. It is far too low. I have the master volume set to 100 and it isn't anywhere near as loud as PC 2 with the volume set at 45. There are some things I like. For example the echo when you go through tunnels is nice, better than PC 2, but about the same as PC 1. Visually with the way the lighting is in PC 3 you lose a lot of detail in the sky. The soft focus in the distance makes the aliasing look more pronounced. I would like the MSAA option to return because it works great on PC 2. I bought the deluxe edition so I hope that in addition to more content we also get some of the option from PC 2 back in the game. And I now it's a reach, but tire wear and pit stops. One thing I found (and recommend to everyone) is to enable sharpening. PC3 is a lot blurrier that PC2 and it's why a lot of people were complaining about a graphical downgrade. But once you crank up the settings and apply a big sharpening level, the game actually starts to look good. I recommend enabling sharpening in most games, but with this one it's practically mandatory.

I just hope that Project Cars 4 goes back to it's roots being a sim again, rather than arcade. PC1: Sound PC2: Physics PC3: More content
In a nutshell, Project Cars 3 is actually Need For Speed Shift 3 but with the car models, race tracks and graphical design of PC2, which makes sense since they have the same developer. I personally haven't played the first or the second Project Cars titles and I am not really a fan of simulation racers, but I somewhat enjoyed PC3 as a throwback to the NFS Shift subseries.
You forgot to add few things, The damage is only visual it will not affect your performance in PC3, as well as pit stops and many other features removed...
With so many differences between PC2 and PC3 I feel comparing them graphically is like comparing apples and oranges. PC2 is a semi-decent racing sim you'd want to drive with a steering wheel and PC3 is a NFS style arcade that looks like a mobile game and you'd want to play it as such, with a gamepad.
pc3 audio just sounds so muddy to me. it's also probably why I'm getting such a lackluster experience out of my bass shaker. just cannot tune the settings so i feel the rpm ramp-up at all like in AC. it's just a muddy rumble from start to finish with only the gear shift impacts to separate the gear in my butt.
I rather the sounds in PC2. PC3 just sounds very diluted down while PC2 Had more louder meatier sounds and you could actually hear the rain in cockpit view. By the way, I think that it’s a mix of NFS shift and Driveclub with re-used maps and cars from Project cars 2. Also. Here is the thing. It’s a good racing game, but it’s not a project cars game, if that makes sense.
Project cars 2 sounds way better im not buying this game the fact they just changed the whole formula going from sim to arcade its just not right what about all the original backers for this game they were all hardcore sim racers they backed the game because they wanted a good sim title
Ahm no they don't, they've been the most hypocrite possible, search for "Forza responds to my ban" and you'll see how bad the feedback on that game really is
@@Kravicka it's just lame tbh, they just don't have anyone that knows how to code online I'm guessing, I mean, it's not easy but jeez, with the amount of money they have it's not that hard to get someone, same thing goes for need for speed, they haven't had anyone good with online systems for 5 years
So they made this "sequel" more arcade in a way? Why not rebrand it instead? Forza is getting their public with this strategy, I think it's fair for others to follow the same concept. There's not much you can do with this genre,
I have both and I must say I enjoy both differently. I like the realism of PC2 and when I wanna chill and just drive cars on tracks without being to focused I play project cars 3. To PC3 benefit it does have some cars I haven’t seen on other racing games like Proto Z. One thing I must say is I think the transmission noise in PC3 can be a bit much at times
I dumped hundreds of hours into Project Cars 1 and 2. I bought 3 yesterday and got a few hours in today, annnd.... I really liked it. Totally different from the last games, yes, but I enjoy Gran Turismo, Forza, Grid & NFS as well. Guess I'm an outlier but I can see why people don't like the approach of 3.
Myea, but my theory for that piece of garbage being garbage is because that's Bandai Namco obtaining an license and telling one of their development teams to just get it done. And then you get Slightly Mad like "But we really need to do Project Cars 3 well done.", so they halfass it because of the lack of resources and you get a game that looks like a movie license game from 2007 or something. - They did one that's probably worse, which would be some kind of Red Bull Racing kind of game. Another example of a license type product.
@@sunnyliu9820 But I highly doubt it's Slightly Mad Studios going "Oh yea, let's purchase the license for a whole lot of money and make a game right as we're developing Project Cars 3 and make it really poorly and sell it that way.". - It must've been Namco if not Codemasters putting them up with that. - It can't be the developer choosing this, why would they do that to themselves.
They spent it on taking out all the racing sim features and putting in all the arcade racer features. It definitely isn't the same game even if 90% of the content is the same.

I personally haven't played the first or the second Project Cars titles and I am not really a fan of simulation racers, but I somewhat enjoyed PC3 as a throwback to the NFS Shift subseries.
Wait...so there's a downgrade on track numbers? How is that even allowed??????? Jesus Christ
@C Liu Which one ? Can't be Spa - it's in practically every racing game ahah.
@C Liu now colour me surprised. Always thought the Japanese tracks were the most expensive
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. ~ Exodus 20:7 KJV
Seven years after release, I still play PC2. It really is just great.
Now try it in VR. PC3 looks like a mobile phone game compared to PC2. Especially the shadows
You forgot to add few things, The damage is only visual it will not affect your performance in PC3, as well as pit stops and many other features removed...
It was a lazy effort by sms and they added the icing on the cake by lying to a very loyal fan base while trying to make a buck .... what a shame
Now i understand why Slightly Mad Studios had to be sold to Codemasters. However i prefer the Arcade style.
PC2 is awesome: PC3 is an abomination. There's your compassion.
I wanted to get Project cars 3 but I preferred saving for the Gran Turismo 7 in the future...Is this the right choice?
60 quid for less maps same textures and a few ne cars (ik know 22 is decent but compare it to forza games were they add hundreds if cars
1:55, this doesn't look as a higher quality to me, more like they just turned up the saturation or brightness and make the glass in front less opaque.
I think graphically, I'd consider drive club to be the gold standard.... And is it just me or is the sound muddier? Keeping my PC2
Thanks for this, sticking with PC2. You've shown me what a good game I actually have here.
Oh yes i have been waiting for this
0:43 That damn flickering is in everywhere these days 😒
pc3 audio just sounds so muddy to me. it's also probably why I'm getting such a lackluster experience out of my bass shaker. just cannot tune the settings so i feel the rpm ramp-up at all like in AC. it's just a muddy rumble from start to finish with only the gear shift impacts to separate the gear in my butt.
@10:40 The proximity arrows were also in PC2.
Not by default
Project cars 2 sounds way better im not buying this game the fact they just changed the whole formula going from sim to arcade its just not right what about all the original backers for this game they were all hardcore sim racers they backed the game because they wanted a good sim title
this is the exact reason i still bought PC2 while knowing full well that PC3 was already out
How lazy. This is why I love the Forza Horizon games. The developers actually care
Ahm no they don't, they've been the most hypocrite possible, search for "Forza responds to my ban" and you'll see how bad the feedback on that game really is
hahahahahahhaah sure, thats why thousands of ppl cant even LAUNCH the game for like a year.
@@Kravicka it's just lame tbh, they just don't have anyone that knows how to code online I'm guessing, I mean, it's not easy but jeez, with the amount of money they have it's not that hard to get someone, same thing goes for need for speed, they haven't had anyone good with online systems for 5 years
Nah they don't, most of the cars have the same garbage engine sound and Playground doesn't care at all
Nah they don't, most of the cars have the same garbage engine sound and Playground doesn't care at all
2 is a good game, 3 is taking all the good things from 2 and throws them out of a cliff
So they made this "sequel" more arcade in a way? Why not rebrand it instead? Forza is getting their public with this strategy, I think it's fair for others to follow the same concept. There's not much you can do with this genre,
Love your vídeos Bro!!
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
change it to my year.
stop being babies, the game is brand new and it needs time.
@@Project-2004 ah yes paying a unfinished game 👌

@Doodle Noodle I'm 12 and I'm just defending the game.
What is going on BTS at SMS?
F&F: Crossroads and a (maybe) re-skinned PC2?
Codemasters. Simple as that...
Damn this a really expensive dlc
That sound comparison was a hard one, they DEFINITELY sound the same...
Apparently, this is the same studio that made Fast and Furious: Crossroads...
Correct
Myea, but my theory for that piece of garbage being garbage is because that's Bandai Namco obtaining an license and telling one of their development teams to just get it done. And then you get Slightly Mad like "But we really need to do Project Cars 3 well done.", so they halfass it because of the lack of resources and you get a game that looks like a movie license game from 2007 or something. - They did one that's probably worse, which would be some kind of Red Bull Racing kind of game. Another example of a license type product.
@@michaelmonstar4276
SMS was an independent developer until Codemasters bought the studio.
@@michaelmonstar4276 Also, Namco publishes their games, they don't actually have a say in development.
Project cars 2 is better because of the sounds and the tracks, and car grouping but project cars 3 is better at some visuals because it's newer
Should've been delayed until 2021 and only be released on Ps5, Xbox Series X, and PC, forget the Ps4/XOne..
Lol no, not everyone has 500$ to put into a new console but i do agree that it should have been delayed
This is indeed a gamechanger, it changed from realistic graphics to gtav graphics
So they're selling the same game again.
I'm wondering what they did with the budget.
Bought crack of course
@@CalicoOnlyTakesWs money well spend.
They spent it on taking out all the racing sim features and putting in all the arcade racer features. It definitely isn't the same game even if 90% of the content is the same.
Most drivers past puberty tend to feel that bad graphics but great driving experience beats great graphics but bad driving experience... If you think this is the same game, you are judging by the LEAST important category. 🙄
I liked how project cars 2 took some skill to control the cars
Conclusion: project cars 3 is a cash grab and also inferior compared to project cars 2
I'm still playing it
Same game
How are shadows still rough in this day and age?
Pc3 is a better racing game.
I actually think it is awesome
Yes
So it's 2020 and nobody can yet replicate Driveclub's rain effects
