Great adv vid boys; I used it to see how the KTM 1090r looked off-road; BEAST! I was always a Honda dude and am looking at the AT. I know they R great too. But IMO, looks like the KTM comes ready to go from the factory and also has a better suspension for off-roading.... def at the top of my list now.
The suspension isn't even in the same galaxy. I'm fortunate enough to have a place that rents ADVs about an hour away. It's expensive, but I'm glad I rode the AT for a day before thinking twice on one.
Oli, you and your crew are “Too Tough” ! After looking at countless KTM videos listening to guys blab on about nothing useful and wave their hands in the air off the bars I stumble on to your excellent video! This is what I want to see; the 1090 in action! Keep it up and report on how the bike holds up as yours isa proper test like most guys would use it for. We ain’t going to Starbucks for coffee and conversation! Thanks...keep them coming. Use the KTM name in your title along with thrashing test or something to pull in more subscribers... love it
Thank you for the kind words but watch my latest video. I sold the 1090. Its a good bike but when doing proper off road with it it becomes too costly. I am riding now a 450 and OMG! Exactly what i was looking for. I surely miss the 1090 but could not afford both.
Thanks a lot. I have a Garmin Montana and it is good for road and probably the best for off road. As you can see in the video i experienced some heavy rains and the Montana is totally water proof. I made a mistake buying the Zumo first. I then returned it to get a Montana. Never looked back. I got a Garmin Montana cradle along with SW Motech quick release mount. Almost no vibration!
Hello and thank you for this video. After trying the 690 (I guess it was a 690) what did you think of the 1090 in rough conditions? Hill climbs and so on... is the 1090 a heavy cow compared to the 690? Cheers.
it is a great bike off-road but 690 is probably better however for me the 1090R has a better capabilities on road than the 690. The 1090R is a true and the only one right now being as good on the road as it is off-road. Amazing bike!
sevensixtwo nato yes more videos of non-pro riders to show the reality of adventure bikes instead of ex racers and pro riders whipping these bikes off jumps! Lol. More vids like this.

Of course i did it with my 1090 i was the first one on that hill (when the camera zooms in). Believe me that bike can do much more than what you capable to. Watch what Chris Birch is doing with it!
Sounds awesome... now I'm wondering how the AT would perform in such environment, seems like all the video of the Honda we see is only light trails... I presently ride a DR650 and would regret to get rid of it if I wouldn't be able to ride hard anymore but on the other hand touring is such a pain on the pig!

just try one and see for your self. But frankly dr650 vs 1090R...you are in for a surprise!
