I think this is a very basic mindset behind dating. For more serious, long term relationships and marriage, of course, it's about compromising and working together on both parts to grow and maintain the relationship. Been in a relationship for 6 years and married for 3. The secret to keeping a man is them wanting to be kept and wanting to be with you. I’ve never had to beg for him to want me, to listen to me, hell to even get a back massage he volunteers because it makes him happy to make me happy and I’m appreciative in return. He also loves that I’m out spoken and I don’t take any shit, doesn’t mean I’m belittling him it means we both share a mutual respect for each other. We are equals, and we find a balance that works for us. Please don’t take dating advice from someone who blankets all black women a certain way then turns around to tell us what we should do.
