A Walk That Changed My Life: Chapter 3

Noah was a normal middle-schooler in the state of Lockings until he went on a walk with his mother in sixth grade. Abandoned by his annoyed mother, he is saved from a group of gangsters called "Hoods" in an alley by a high-schooler named Marlin, who took him under his wing to train him how to defend himself. Sparring with him and his little cousin Nathaniel and spending each day with them, Noah becomes best friends with the two, helping them with whatever they needed. But then, a few months later, something happens to Marlin, changing their whole friendship and what Noah identifies him as.
Marlin's book was so annoying; I was originally going to have it stay on the couch the whole time, but gacha didn't allow it, so I let Nathan yeet it to the other room. Thanks, Nathan. I'm also not sure what that white line is in the first few seconds where it transitions, but if you didn't notice it before you read this, don't go looking for it. Also, "learn how to" or "learn to"? Please help...
