      In a previous video I edited my comment and I added some curious stuff. As I said there I work at an online store in EU. I could try to hook you up with some unknown and weird devices.
      I could hook you up if you are interested... Ulefone, Allview... some weird tablets ;)
      AEKU, BLU, Cubot, Energizer, Ekinox, Freeman, FiGi, FENiX®, Evelatus, E-BODA, Doogee, General Mobile, iHunt, Khocell, Leagoo, Lexibook, Mobiola, MyPhone, OUKITEL, RugGear, Prestigio, tiny star, Thl, Tesla, UMIDIGI, Vivax, Vivo, Vonino, Zanco.
      So far these are the weirder ones... Some of them are not touch screens...These are just the phones and I haven't looked at the tablets...hit me up if you need more info.
      Sorry for the copy-paste... Im lazy...

    Doogee lost me as a customer, My kids have had several Dogee models the last one, was the X5. After a firmware update they started to displaying a shitton of ads some of whom where adult orientated.
    I got banned on the Doogee user forum discussing this and how to disable it.
    So me advise is to avoid doogee.

    Buyer beware, Doogee is known for installing adware in their phones! I Had a Doogee X5 that started displaying ads randomly after a firmware update. After their customers realized how to block the ads, they pushed another firmware update that had the same "feature" but this time the ads were buried deep in the system libraries.

    I had a X5 Max back in the days. At first impression it was a nice cheap thing. But after an update it started to freak out. Opening websites, opening apps, lags straight from hell. And its not cool when your phone openes pornsites when you are showing something to your colleges. And the phone cost me 60€ + 8€ postage.
    But its not only doogee. Umi has those issues as well. The main reason why i wouldnt buy those brands ever again.

    Good choice of price range. You can often find good used phones around this price. Compared to the Wish, and Joom 'cheap' phones, there's no question which you should buy. An interesting note is that all the Wish, ect. 'cheap' phones you reviewed only had 3g (no matter how expensive) this has 4g, so it will still be usable in a couple of years.

    • @SMOOREZ
      @SMOOREZ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely. These phones I review will always be better than the Wish stuff. The wish videos are there to warn people not to buy the crap off there. People fall for those phones all the time so if I can save someone some cash by recommending a phone from a reputable company then I am happy.

    It's been almost two years since i bought a Doogee Mix 6\64. Feels good to this day. A good way to speed the phone up is to install a custom lightweight launcher. I ported mine from a Japanese phone and it's quite snappy! It's really cheap now, about 70-100$ new. Maybe you could review it.

  • @BlueEyedVibeChecker
    @BlueEyedVibeChecker 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Dunno if anyone pointed it out, but the shadow and light at the top and bottom ends of the LCD is actually an option to add extra depth to the home screen. (Some launchers allow the option to toggle it on/off, e.g. Nova Launcher, CPL Launcher, etc.)
    Though I currently use a Ulefone Note 8P, I did consider a DOOGEE phone not too long ago, but could never bring myself to buy from a 3rd party site. (Amazon UK was out of stock), hence why I never got one.
    I appreciate channels like yours, since some extra affirmation on the legitamacy and usefulness of a phone really helps in choosing one.

    Why do people moan about micro usb and want usb c. What's the reason. As long as it charges?

    • @abzhuofficial
      @abzhuofficial 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Symmetry - you don't have to worry about trying to fiddle with the orientation of the cable port, especially in low-light conditions. In other words, you can insert a USB-C cable either way with little effort, compared to microUSB. Sure, neither are as good as a barrel/circular jack, but USB-C is better than microUSB.

    This brand makes somewhat legit smartphones, but they are very bad, I had one of the rugged models and I had to install a GSI to solve a problem and it ended up causing other problems that were even worse, at the time, looking on YT I didn't find anything, which makes me the only one who successfully installed Android 10 on a smartphone (from this brand) with a non-open source OS and made a video about it... and during the process I bricked it for 3 days which forced me to look for the stock rom that no longer exists anywhere

    Don't buy doogee or other Chinese phones, I bought Doogee S70 nearly two years ago and at first it was amazing ....but....
    After half a year microphone stopped working(this resolved by itself somehow after 4 months),
    I believed in phone waterproofnes (it sad it could be submerged for 2hours) I just splashed it in a pool for about 15mins, water got under camera and phone wouldn't start( after that I putted it in rice bag, and water was gone).
    Also speaker is screeching in normal or cold temperature, when phone is above 40°C then sound is decent.
    My charging port died as well as charger that got included, repaired my phone got new charger but cable that came with phone melted(also I needed to search sleek usb c cable coz this usb c port is about half a cm deep).
    Also second camera isn't real camera, and camera app is shit as well as their updates on this phone.
    Front camera is noisy even in sunlight (I tested both cameras with 5 different camera apps, my recommendation is open camera and pro cam7/9).
    Once in a week my phone doesn't charge at all for some odd reason.
    And I forgot to mention that phone blocked all incoming calls first several weeks.
    Several days ago speaker didn't at all produce any sound. If you are smart pls don't buy this bullcrap of a phone. If ya have any questions about resolving this issues I would be glad to help.
    And this was supposed to be gaming phone..it ain't... gaming mode is terrible and you can't configure Bluetooth joystick very easily (coz they forgot to put English instructions).

      It's good that you give a warning - but two things...
      1 - expecting any phone to actually be submergible in water for 2 hours isn't smart - even IP68 certified phones still give disclaimers that they might die after a while under water.
      2 - expecting any cheap phone to work well for gaming is... Optimistic. You might get lucky with a good chipset, but usually anything under $200 isn't going to game well.

      @@Mipster_ I agree with you, but Doogee just started and it doesn't have services in many countries so if your phone is damaged you can't use your warranty.
      Also now there is Xiaomi and other trusted brands who make good phones at nearly the same price.
      Also a lot of Chinese phones have good CPUs but very bad and unoptimized software, I would definitely recommend installing new Android and gcam (which I did yesterday and it feels even better than I bought the phone).
      And I ain't the only one having the problem, if you go to Doogee forum you will see a lot of people raging like me.
      And my phone got only one security update one month after it was released, soo for about two years there were no software update or anything.

    Yay I can finish watching the review now
    Edit: I watch the whole review (no skips) and honestly it looks pretty good for a 70 dollar budget phone especially that battery, shame that it's slower than what I would want. Also I can't wait for the teardown

      I forgot that one. Was too excited and disappointed to discover that Intelligent Stick , made by PQI in mid 2000's actually uses Samsung NAND flash memory inside card like case. But , that's the another story for another time. :)

      Also , these "sticks" were quite expensive back then and supported booting off them. They were in 128 , 256 (mine) and 512MB. And were highly prised by the press at the time. And had minimal XP like operating system (secure models) that I managed to track down , as it was from 2004.

      I can. I watch only things online, I don’t play things different than emulated old games and everything that I have is on cloud. I don’t need more than 16gb.
