Joseph Payne Brennan's description of the amorphous monster is chilling to say the least. I also appreciated JPB's characterizations of the protagonists. I lived in a small town in Ohio. The townspeople reminded me of the people of Clinton Center. Thank you, Joseph Payne Brennan and Edward E. French.

As someone who grew up in similar circumstances when I first read the story, I can agree with you about the authenticity it gave the story.

Thanks. Expert narration. I could have that story continue for many hours.

Nice rendition. Your voice has a Vincent Price quality. Tasteful use of music and sound effects. The moments of terror in the story rang true, and who would've ever thought one could get into the psychology of a blob!

That's an excellent point, Alex. The Blob's psychology makes the whole story compelling and oddly timeless! E.E.F.

Just the way you say "slime" sends chills up my spine. It conjures up imagery of haunted swamps best left unexplored, of the deep, endless black and cold nights in which the horror thrives, waiting to strike without warning and smother its victims into nonexistence in a single, crushing, oozing sssqueeze...

Glad you enjoyed S L I M E! You might also enjoy the other Joseph Payne Brennan stores here on the Fiction Fantastique Channel ; "Diary of a Werewolf" and "The Corpse of Charlie Rull." Cheers. E.E.F.

@@FrenchEdward06 Oh, yes, indeed! Corpse of Charlie Rull is definitely one I've been itching to give a listen to. The premise sounds very EC Comics-ish. I'm also glad you've got The Thought Monster (not a Brennan story, but whatever), the inspiration for one of my all-time favorite horror movies, Fiend Without a Face, and I can't wait to hear you lend your awesome voice to Who Goes There?, we well. :)

@@FrenchEdward06 I loooooooved Charlie Rull! Have you given any thought to doing The Clone by Theodore L. Thomas and Kate Wilhelm? I think that could really benefit from your lovely voice, good sir.

Thanks William.... I'll check out The Clone...a good story by an author whose work I haven't previously posted here is a prime candidate for an audio book here. E.E.F.

Who Goes There is a popular audio on the channel. I'm surprised by that. Perhaps because it was and still is the most difficult to narrate. The writing doesn't exactly dance trippingly off the tongue....E.E.F.

Poor slime. It didn't come ashore voluntarily. Bummed out.

It was a unique species, a creature almost as old as the seas themselves! Now it's gone forever, exterminated, lost! What more, it was burned alive in a most horrendous and barbaric way! Only because it had devoured a drunkard and a few equally useless specimens of Southern WT! No horror story will ever match the horrors of human cruelty against other living things, that's for sure! Boo-hooo!!

Arch Oboler's "Lights Out" featured an episode about an amorphous creature that consumed living creatures. I believe that episode was entitled, "The Chicken Heart."

*Thoomthoom!* "He's in your home state..." *Thoomthoom!* "He's outside your door..." 🤔 Or is it Bill Cosby's version I'm thinking of? 😆

@@BennyLlama39 -- You're thinking of Bill Cosby's take on that classic episode. Ha! I think that comedic take on "The Chicken Heart" was from Cosby's "Wonderfulness" comedy LP. Bill Cosby also mentioned other movie monsters (The Wolfman, etc.) on that record.

Now that was really scary - maybe because i saw The Blob when it came out and/or cause jelly fish are blobby. i don't know - but i was really sorta 'uh oh' - don't go near a swamp - ok, i won't . it's all your fault, too! i mean you made it scary - i loved it! thanks. . .

This reminds me of the blob creature from the creep show that consumed everything that came to the lake where it was, but in this story it could go on land.

You have a fantastic voice.. very akin to Orson Welles or an old time radio program. I've been skimming through your video list... I can understand releasing "chapters" (to fit the radio vibe), but it would be nice that, once you completed a book or story that you would release a complete version (don't know if youtube charges you more for that).
Regardless, thanks for the great readings! Here is hoping for some more, and here are a few suggestions I would LOVE to hear:
    DISCORD IN SCARLET:
    www.prosperosisle.org/spip.php?article325
THE THINGS (perspective of "The Thing" [1982]):
    clarkesworldmagazine.com/watts_01_10/
(they have an audio version, but the lady doing the reading just doesn't have the voice to carry it. Too often, a lot of those who create audio novels do not put any effort into the _acting_ or emotion of the words or roles).

Thanks, Monroville…..I'll have to look up Bachman and your suggestions. I try to record works that aren't copyrighted.....some of the audios featured on the channel may have a copyright. I'm more attracted to vintage "works" anyway. The long novels were recorded one week at a time and posted weekly. Perhaps eventually I will condense them to one long playing book. You Tube does not charge me and my only profit is the satisfaction I receive from the creativity this medium affords me. Thanks for listening. E.E.F.

@@FrenchEdward06 Even as I typed in Bachman (King), I thought about the issue of *copyright* issues (don't want to spend a lot of time creating something just to get it pulled, though Shawn Woods simply gets around YT by posting vimeo links to stuff YT takes down).
With that said (about all the chapters linked together), it would be nice to have an entire "book".. but at the same time, it is nice having separate chapters, since it is like listening to the radio and having to wait a week for the next part.
You should consider opening a Patreon account, so if people want to voluntarily contribute, they can. You should check out *The Horror Show* (he might go by *Horror Show Mickey* now), as he has some very nice narrated Junji Ito stories (like HELLSTAR REMINA and the UZUMAKI series). He also has a few TALES FROM THE CRYPT, CREEPY and EERIE stories as well.
      th-cam.com/video/GONgAh9il7s/w-d-xo.html
Mickey (the channel creator) also has some very nice narrated DC stories (particularly BATMAN stories) in his previous incarnation as CHANNEL BAD GUY (if you search his "videos" on his home channel, they are farther down in his early days).
