DR Congo culturally has always been east Afrikan, the music, dance, Kiswahili language, and even business wise. It's the best move that DRC has ever done. It will also open up central Afrika for major business transactions. I miss Franco music though my favorite musician is TShala Mwana and Bilia Bel. "Karibu wakongomani katika jumuiya ya Afrika mashariki. Hapa ndipo nyumbani kwetu sisi wote."
That was a nice move by DRC joining EAC, Making this block a very effective block and we are looking forward for full DRC admission. Movement of goods and people with easy and intergrating our M-Pesa technology into DRC should be first step, in banking our DRC brethrens.
Yes that's the goal and aspiration. But EAC decided to work on a confederacy first, then federation. Which makes more sense as they have grown member States outside of the founding states which already had a more intertwined ties financially, culturally and linguistically.
The territories north and east of the Congo River will certainly integrate into the EAC very well, and in doing so they will drift ever further from Kinsasha's control. "Congo" was never a real country, only a colonial fabrication that Mobutu preserved at the West's behest. That fabrication needs split up so the regions can better integrate with their real neighbors. Expect to see Ugandan colonies on the eastern banks of the Congo in years to come.

They do have a common language; Swahili spoken by more than 70% of the EAC members

Gotta be renamed "Central African Federation" or CAF
I can't tell if this is the joke or not, but there's a country on the northern border of the DRC called the Central African Republic
Federal Region of East and Central Africa (FRECA)
@@nibbletrinnal2289 I said Federal and not Republic , so we'll have CAR and CAF(central African Federation)
