  • Basic Self Defense Techniques: Escaping Front and Rear Chokes
    - Front Choke: With both of your arms, press down near the elbow of one of your opponent's arms (LI-10) to break the grip temporarily. Front kick him in the shin to make him take a step back and lower his weight. From there drive your fingertips into the center of their neck right above the collarbone. This will cause the opponent to step back and their arms to shoot out looking like a "superman" pose. You can also strike the eyes and slap their head/face as well, then run away.
    - Rear Choke: Turn towards your opponent away from the choke, drop your weight like you are trying to sit on their knee. Start elbowing their midsection and hammer strike their groin if possible. Once they release the choke to defend themselves, slip backwards out of the choke and slap/hammer fist as hard as you can to the back of their neck and drive a knee into their midsection on legs as best you can. Push them away from you and run when you can.
