I think I have to agree with that man! It was next level! Next time I think I’d do bacon bits though just cus those pack better. I wonder how long a sealed pack of curds would last unrefrigerated! Also I need to drop your links in the description! I totally forgot last night at 3am! 😱 I’ll put them in once I’m back from thanksgiving dinner!
The key here is noting exactly how much water you need for each of these bombs. If you have that dialed in, you can rehydrate the veg in the water until it comes to a boil and can be added to the rest of the mixture in the bag.
Add your cheese curds AFTER heating everything. And add some Hickory Sticks for crunch and flavour Or do one with chicken soup added with cheese Combos
You need peppered jerky. Cold soak it for a couple of hours, it will soften. With the dehydrated veggies and mushrooms cold soak for a couple of hours, then cook for about 4-5 minutes.
In the UK we get a spicy sausage called Peparami. It comes foil wrapped, is cooked, and doesn’t need to be refrigerated if sealed. They are about 15 mm in dia and come in several lengths, 150mm and 300mm. They would be ideal. Other cooked sausages, sealed in foil, which don’t need a fridge would also work. These also work with rice to make a pseudo stir fry.
Interesting ideas. Couldn't stop laughing when you got poutine cheese in your beard and didn't notice for a bit. LOL I hope you and no one else camped at the spot for a couple of weeks. It's going to be a bear magnet with all that split food.
Hahaha that cheese just clung on! 😂😅 Also, I know it looks like I spill a lot but I actually only spilt a small bit of food once (and a wee bit of gravy powder)... The rest is just water. I thoroughly removed all food from the area as best as I could. I practice Leave No Trace when I’m out as best as I can! Thanks for commenting though 😁 Which one do you think you’d try?
suggestion redo the sea bomb chowder using diced dehydrated potatoes, and lose the tuna & sardines, instead use a can of clams or smoked clams for a clam chowder bomb.
Thanks for the ideas. I did Spam. Good. Then tried a can of chicken. Also good. I have to maximze meat protein or im hungry later. But veggies sound like a great addition.
Awe thanks man! Next one should be out later this week! I think I’ve found a way to be at least a LITTLE more active on here. We’ll see how things unfold! You know how it is... Keep moving forward! 😆
That was funny, thanks, enjoyed it a lot even though I knew (and tried) already all of them. The seafood bomb tastes imho much (means really much) better if you use tuna/sardines in tomato sauce and add some ketchup to the mix. A bit of Thyme makes it even more perv ect. And instead of jerky, most Europeans would most probably prefer to add any salami, cervelat, or Landjäger.
The way you opened that can of corned beef made me have to pause the video and comprehend what was happening, and then realizing "huh, I suppose most people haven't eaten canned meats before". hahahah
@@BackcountryForward you take the key off, turn it around, and then just turn it. It will open the strip as it winds up around the key! @@m_hibbs oh right! Yeah I knew that! Well, except for the can failing to work. So, this wasn't a jab at your intelligence, I honestly hoped you didn't just pull on the tab away from the can as your first instinct, but the end result was certainly enough to make me laugh
@@m_hibbs haha ... well I WILL admit that in my first ramen bomb video, I had NO idea how to open up the spam can! It took me WAY too long to figure out! (I think I was about to use my knife till I figured it out..... 🤣) I’m basically clueless with canned meats! 😆
I definitely want to try the spicy and the poutine bombs! I like the chicken tortilla Ramen, Potatoes, and Walmart had a single serve pouch fajita chicken. Sometimes iadd cheese if i have it
If I could get single serve pouches of fajitas up here in canada... I'm not sure there would be a need to eat anything else on the trail!!! TAKE ME WITH YOU AMERICA!
Bacon bits come in relatively small packets that don't have to be refrigerated(for salads iirc) I'd try that as your meat option. Also if the jerky is too mild I'd recommend hot and sweet jerky or a korean bbq jerky dunno if it would be any good but maybe. I'm also curious if powdered eggs and powdered butter would end up cooked and re hydrated or just awful if you tried this with them.
I definitely thought of the bacon bits option afterwards. Going forward that’s definitely what I’d do! Oh and good call on powdered eggs! I need to try that! It could be like a ham breakfast bomb! I even have those dehydrated hash browns you can get at Costco! Great ideas! But the real challenge is... can you think of a way to make this a dessert?
@@BackcountryForward Hmmm maybe aim for something along the lines of a rice pudding? 1(pretty Crushed up) pack of ramen (minus the flavor packet), a couple packets of sugar(3-4 I'd guess), 2 packets of jelly the tiny ones they give you in diners, a packet of butter, Cinnamon powder, ground nutmeg, Vanilla, and then some dried fruit I'd go raisins or apples but w/e, And then maybe some almond flour to thicken it up? Technically the ramen noodles should have gluten so it shouldn't be necessary to use the flour between that and all the dehydrated ingredients soaking up liquid but if it ended up water-y this would be pretty nasty so I'd bring along the almond flour or some corn starch just in case. No idea if this would end up tasty or heinous though so you're taking this into your own hands!
@@gnomersy1087 hahaha! This is gold! I appreciate the disclosure/warning 😂 This actually sounds really good! Honestly I might make this but sub the ramen for rice (of course it would no longer be a ramen bomb... but you get the idea). And the almond flour would be really good! Add a bit of a nutty flavor, you know?
@@BackcountryForward I mean with rice it would probably be a pretty decent if boring/basic rice pudding I imagine there are recipes with more to them to go off of. I'm definitely curious if it would work as a ramen bomb but not quite curious enough to try making it at home lol. Without the hiking element I feel like ramen bombs are a bit too much to handle.

Brother the can of corned beef is easy if you use the tool on the bottom to roll the tab all the way around. There’s videos on you tube of how to do it. Gonna cut yourself this way lol
I know, I know. But first some reason it wasn’t working. I’ve opened lots of corned beefs and spams. But if I would have kept winding the tab would have twisted off (think like a pop can tab bending back and forth). Then wouldn’t have gotten anything. So I stopped while I was ahead and just yanked at the think instead. lol. Normally my cans don’t do this, this one was just in a funk I guess. Cheers though! Keep Moving Forward
