    Thanks for the shout out, Roger! Great explanation on how to set up that nifty volume remote :)

    I just found your channel today and subbed. I just use headphone amps on a couple of my vintage systems and hook them up just like you did using the tape monitor. In my case they are Sabaj A10h units but any brand with RCA ins/outs and remote volume will work. I also have a heavy duty remote power on/off switch. I don't ever have to get up! LOL

      That's a great idea, and the Sabaj A10h is a very good solution. It seems it's not available anymore though, and the A20h has XLR balanced outputs. Unfortunately most headphone amps do not come with remote controls. There are other options though. They're good topics for a future video.

    Hey, great video! Does the quality of analogue interconnects going in and out of the device affect distortion or sound output quality?

      I did not hear a degradation in quality on my system but if you had a super higly resolving setup you might hear a change. People who have multi thousand dollar systems, with multi hundred dollar cables would never dream of putting a $40 device in the signal path anyway, but for the rest of us it works great.

    Hi. I have a receiver with option to connect two tape decks (a Pioneer SX-780). I currently use the designated Tape 1 play inputs to connect a CD player. (I use the AUX input for a DAC.) can i use the record/play for Tape 2 for this remote volume control? thank you

      Hi Yes it will work. I just tested this scenario on a Pioneer SX550 to make sure it did what I expected it to. With the volume control connected to Tape 2, just leave the Tape Monitor 2 button pushed in, The CD connected to Tape 1 and the DAC on Aux will work exactly as they do today.

    what if you have an EQ how would you connect it?

    • @rogergadgetguy
      @rogergadgetguy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you have an eq in your only tape connections. I would connect the eq output to the Volume control input and have the Volume control output go to the tape In/Play

    Hi there! What if I just want to invest in the remote control for radio and CD but don’t want to buy the other gadget for making the volume on both the same level, is that possible?

    • @rogergadgetguy
      @rogergadgetguy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Nathalia The volume leveller is just a personal preference thing, it is completely optional, and could be added later in any case.
