Best and most accurate of all the lessons on the internet right down to the voicing of the G6 chord. Listen to Neil Young and you will see that this lesson is spot on. Neil may be playing an Em7 rather than an Em however. Unsure. Very subtle difference.

Thanks for the G6. I struggled with it. He changes the G6 by lifting up the middle finger and barring the E and B strings at the third fret. See at Harvest Moon (Live in Austin) at 4:03. There's a good angle during the harmonica break, up from below so you can actually see his fingers. I think this is a G5. Don't know if he's doing this when he's singing. Can't see. Your treatment of the up/down strokes pattern is the best I've seen.

OOPS,..... pardon me that was the Harvest Moon book ....(in tab).....I think that was my first intro into D-tuning.......Ohhhh I learned alot that year.... However there is an Unplugged book, but the tunes are different
I tried different ones I think you far the bests.used to play and was good wayyyyy back in the day70s now I stuck in this wretched house next three months going give it a go again...love the riff only got 30%use hands just wonder if I can do it bit disheartening if get guitar and impossible

This is a good job, well explained. That riff from 11:58 is bang on with nice twangy bass strings which you can really lean on. I sort of already knew the rest of it. Can anyone confirm if Neil Young actually uses a plectrum for this song? It doesn't sound like it.
I saw him do those harmonics Live he did them on his guitar and just dropped the rhythm part out while doing it. (Are you certain the recorded version is a lap steel? )or you can find Neil do this tune solo on sat night live!he does have a tape playing but he does do the harmonics himself,if I remember correctly.

Sorry I didn’t make that clear Glen. Only the low E string is down tuned, the rest are standard, so: DADGBE = Drop D tuning.
