  • Helimax-XP was the only helicoid grease I was able to find on eBay and Amazon. The grease was already dry when I got the 5.8cm lens, and the conversion process to be able to use it on my D750 only made it worse. This is my initial test of the Helimax-XP grease. I will have future updates on how the lens and grease are doing over time.

It's really sad to see an old lens was destroyed by grinding it to fit the meter prong on newer cameras..

I thought the the same thing. It's like getting a vintage Porsche and using a jigsaw to take the roof off because you want to use it as a convertible. I think if I saw lens like this for sale I'd buy it just to restore. I would try to find a donor lens which I could take the the aperture ring.

Thanks for the video. I just wondering is it okay to use any kind of grease lithium? Because in my country I don't have the exact product of yours. For what I've seen, most of them are specifically used for motor parts.

I thought the grease was for the focus helicol.

If you add grease to the aperture blade,it will collect dust and filth and will get blocked in a decade or less
