- Helimax-XP was the only helicoid grease I was able to find on eBay and Amazon. The grease was already dry when I got the 5.8cm lens, and the conversion process to be able to use it on my D750 only made it worse. This is my initial test of the Helimax-XP grease. I will have future updates on how the lens and grease are doing over time.

Exactly what I was looking for thanks!
Thanks for the vireo!
PTFE - it's teflon in simple.
It's really sad to see an old lens was destroyed by grinding it to fit the meter prong on newer cameras..
I thought the the same thing. It's like getting a vintage Porsche and using a jigsaw to take the roof off because you want to use it as a convertible. I think if I saw lens like this for sale I'd buy it just to restore. I would try to find a donor lens which I could take the the aperture ring.
how do I change this lens from pre-Ai to Ai... thanks
Please Can you make a demo. how to disassemble Vivitar 90mm macro lens
Best regards
Thanks for the video. I just wondering is it okay to use any kind of grease lithium? Because in my country I don't have the exact product of yours. For what I've seen, most of them are specifically used for motor parts.
I thought the grease was for the focus helicol.
If you add grease to the aperture blade,it will collect dust and filth and will get blocked in a decade or less
