The opening real talk is actually quite refreshing. I know you like to coach young men and I think you both did a great job of having a funny touchy feely talk after an experience like that. Really respect that you slip this stuff into your work, respect to the crew.
Really super cool to hear Scott's experience with ketamine. It speaks a lot to the usefulness of psychedelic experiences,. but also that someone is able to articulate the experience as well as what useful things he got out of it. Thank you for this.
I was once asked if I use drugs. My reply was, "I don't use drugs. I AM drugs." My motto was, "I'll try anything twice". However, as I grow older and longer in the tooth, I realize that things I once enjoyed no longer work on me. I've given up drugs and can now confidently say that I've been straight for, literally, hours.
I find myself eagerly awaiting the Prof G markets pod every Monday, even if I get more of Prof G on Pivot throughout the week. Ed Elson provides a healthy balance with brilliant insights. A lot more appealing than Kara name dropping on pivot.
Bahne Skateboard, Cadillac Wheels, Chicago Trucks. Scott, I lived on mine all summer long in the summer of 75. Tony Hawk's first board and in the Smithsonian. You need to try a One wheel which is my go to now at 61.
Demand is going to AI. Robots will fly under their own power and will not be tourists. Demand for planes will decline. Demographics are very telling. People need a wider competitive market on goods and services. I appreciate your guest's perspective on the long rampup for building planes. Thanks so much, Scott and Ed, for all your podcasts 😊🎉❤
33:15 the answer is no, not until their dividend returns. No mention they cut it in February of 2020. Until then, Boeing had been growing its dividend pay-out consecutively every year until its final payment at that time.
I watch this show and a subject that would be good to look into is how bad services have become in NYC. Both private and public. It is hard to get medical services, government services, even customer service from large companies. It really feels like it is imploding from demand maybe but seems no one in the media doesn’t know this is the case. It will at some point because it is due to unavoidable. Just try out getting certain services and test customer services. The results would make for great shows.
Here following up on the Boeing comment i made a couple of weeks ago where a user said that people should not be afraid cause riding a car is safer and people should not freak out… 30:32 i think if there if a serious manufacturing problem with cars are causing crashes people would stop buying the cars and there would be recalls. Why is this not happening with Boeing?
Supersonic travel isn't needed... the worst and most time consuming part of flying is getting through the airport. Airport security is begging for technological disruption.
55:38 - Fission was discovered in 1938, used in the atomic bombs on Japan, fission reactor in 1942 and commercial fission reactor in 1957. I think you were trying to say "Cold Fusion" and the "name of that number" you were trying to recall is the "Fusion Energy Gain Factor", AKA "Q-Value". And that number goes UP, the more "profitable" the fusion reactor is, not "lower than 1"
Ed, I really enjoy your podcast. I came across a start-up called Quaise Energy that has developed a new inexpensive way to tap into geothermal sources. I was wondering if you or Scott know anything about it.
BOEING is going to have to adopt measures toward quality assurance methods & management which would be in place to evaluate quality control interfaces & procedures for their adequacy for the protection of the health & safety of the general public. This may sound something like 10CFR- 50 for nuclear power plants which have a risk profile similar to the aircraft industry. 10CFR-50 obviates the objectives of cost & schedule over public safety. Boeing holds cost & schedule paramount with a side attribute of public safety arriving out of a profit making process.
I really enjoyed the beginning of this - we don't honestly talk about our experiences on substances and as we move forward sharing those experiences is IMPORTANT! THANK YOU!
I don't get why green energy collapsed the last year, when more energy than ever will be needed for AI. Companies still want the PR of clean energy, not plumes of black smoke coming from their futuristic offices.
As somebody who knows dissociatives and holds them close to my heart, I am profoundly happy that you have now had an experience with one of the most important tools I've been able to experience in my life. It has exceptional capability to heal trauma and disrupt negative behavior patterns. Much like empathy stimulants, Ketamine as a dissociative psychedelic can cut through interpersonal barriers which block our healing process against negative thought loops. Thank you for sharing your story and I wish you continued healing and prosperity.
The electricity demand of BTC ONLY pales in comparison to the demand of the US dollar. When all fiat is considered the demand for BTC is almost nothing. Come on Scott.
The start of this episode was interesting. Psychedelics are best used in a shamanic way, meaning you walk into that experience knowing it’s going to be profound whether you want it to or not. You’ll definitely find yourself in a vulnerable state, so having a guide is helpful. In previous ages, people were usually shielded from experiences like these, as seeing the face of God can be overwhelming if a person isn’t ready for that kind of experience. It can be damaging to your well-being if you’re not ready or willing to face some of your own deficiencies.
I can only offer a personal perspective having done LSD-25, and mushrooms but not Ketamine, X, or DMT. By far The King/Queen of them all is Peyote. For me the others felt like amateur hour. I'm sure that it helped tremendously that I was in the ocean surfing and when it came on the strongest I became acutely aware of each individual drop of salt water trickling down my face and each one spoke giving me powerful feelings of pleasure..
Wow, scott is lucky. When I did iv ket I was paralyzed fully for about 45mins, couldn't even move my thumb enough to decline a call on my phone lol. Jealous I didn't to experience any cool (in a good way) shit
I suspect energy/utilities continue to underperform with increased demand as an opportunity loss due to lack of investment and a broken monopoly culture focused on dividends. Lack of capital investment and increasing losses due to fires/global warming: fires and freezing (e.g. CA and TX recent history). This will continue until/unless nationalized and then due to operational costs and debt v revenues/resistance to increased taxes, it will be privatized. Think Brookfield. AI cannot wait for this and will need its own power at sites.
Scott tipped his hand when he admitted his favorite thing to discuss is HIMSELF. Herein lies the root of his problems. Those who GIVE, not get, are the happiest people.
Here is the solution for the energy-guzzling AI and crypto computers. Move all operations to Iceland and power everything with thermal energy. You also don't have to worry about overheating, just create airflow from the outside, the climate in Iceland is cold year around...
😂 omg I was listening in the shower and Jeeze that bit about Jesus and praying had me laughing so hard I needed shat myself 😂don’t do that again please!
Facts don’t do drugs kids. Absolutely zero people want that feeling of whoops this level of drunk or weed is 25x what I meant and I think I’m going to die.
You guys should really research crypto more and how it actually makes renewals more profitable by using intermittent and stranded . And allows those business models to come to market . It's fascinating and you're just regurgitating the mainstream narrative
Wanting to own a piece of Boeing oughtta be in the DSM5
Airbus has been the superior company for decades now.
question is which piece? I hear there's a lot of them falling out of the sky recently
Underrated comment! 😂
Wasn’t aware that you tune into the show, IShaq!
probably a side effect of Ketamine usage
Scott's right hand was a special and expressive guest in this episode. 😊
It always is, this time not under the table 😂
Anytime I take ketamine or psychedelics, I have a deep non-judgmental awareness that “drinking alcohol is definitely stupid”, yet I’m still a drinker.
😎👍 Massive compliment for sharing that experience! This is (also) why we come here! Meaningful things have substance like this. Thank you, Sir!!
I love the door to deeper meaning being opened, stared at, basked in…and then WHAM… back to business 😂
1 month late to this but this is really a banger comment lmao

Nice way to evade the question Ed
Acting like we didn't notice 😂
Extremely intelligent

Usefulness of drugs 😂😂😂
@@MaxPaint-c8m Lots of drugs are useful. You just gotta use the right one at the right time for the right thing in the right dosage.
Curious to see if Scott becomes more self-aware and has a different take on himself after his first trip.

The aviation dude crushed it
Wish you all would revive the L2 format. That was about as close to perfection for a finance channel I've ever seen.
Bring George back. Great depth with brevity in the industry analysis
Bahne Skateboard, Cadillac Wheels, Chicago Trucks. Scott, I lived on mine all summer long in the summer of 75. Tony Hawk's first board and in the Smithsonian. You need to try a One wheel which is my go to now at 61.
I thought Scott's Ketamine revelation - not childhood or work, but his partner was really sweet. Made me think of my own relationships.
Thanks for the show guys, appreciate the hard work
Mocktail Prof G sounds lit
Thank you for the episode!
The Boeing interview using ATC sound quality was.. a choice
George Ferguson's insight was brilliant for me, especially since I have my eye on BA stock. Thanks.
Thank you #scottgalloway.
2 months ago I bought Vertiv @82.
Today that position is up 25%
I'll take that to the bank anyday.

Maybe a second channel focused on Scott's drug use and Ed's insight on drug use

this is such a great show...
Prof G show team is so good on general and inside stock talk
Jim Cramer good 😂 entertaining but wrong 99% of the time
Great episode! “This too shall pass” has been my motto all year after getting laid off.

10/10 intro & drug trip story 😂😂😂

Nice to hear that Scott (a millionaire) does not pay for Spotify. I feel seen.

Yes...1) intention 2) set and 3) supportive setting. Applied as a therapeutic journey and not recreationally.
People are going WHERE THERE IS NEED combined with LESS ADS!!!! TH-cam has too many ads!!!!!!!!!

Concerning that the Boeing whistleblower specifically told a friend that if he was found dead it wouldn’t be suicide.
Interesting to pair 56:28 Reddit musings with the latest Bubble Trouble podcast (Itunes or web) who take a more bearish take.
Scott still seems high :)
That there ...about your bond with your children ...is why I know that you arw a good dude.
Except he divorced his wife and left he with a child
@@MaxPaint-c8m Ok - but he can still have a strong bond with his child right?
My investment in IA and EV and green transition is energy, coal, uranium and oil. Selling shovels and pick axes to the miners of today.
Scott, do Internal Family Systems IFS therapy
Worst thing about working in data-centers…yes they are frickin’ freezing!

I'm pretty good at drugs, but still, sounds too intense for the current me.
very interesting to hear Scott's ketamine experience and history of drugs!
Jump forward to 13:30 to skip Scott's Ketamine inducted trip of discovery.
Some things are more important than the market 🙏😂
The Jesus Special LOL
TikTok+Apple?
SMCI folks
Oh My…I will be unhappy if the Electric Ketamine Acid test changes the Evil Scott we all know and love .
Rather curious to hear Scott ketamine journey the same day Musk said his ketamine prescription is good for investors 😂
Ed, you'd gain points if you've cut loose and dosed a little - light shrooms, bruh! 🙂
lol, we gotta get Ed to smoke some crack.
Why is Ed on the show? A lover?
Elon could launch an aircraft business... Rockets, Jets... close enough.
prof G I will tell you why BTC is useful.... it's the biggest global unregulated casino. nothing more.
Interesting how ppl love the Ketamine stuff. For me it ranks with hearing peoples dream stories, so so boring.
Scott tipped his hand when he admitted his favorite thing to discuss is HIMSELF. Herein lies the root of his problems. Those who GIVE, not get, are the happiest people.

Sounds like he gives a fair bit away, he no longer draws a salary from NYU for instance.
@@alexwberg he doesn’t need to, because he is rich, that’s all

only the people that didn'd try supersonic want supersonic flight. Supersonic flight are terrible experiences

Scott's drug adventures are funny but cannot compare to my favorite drug fueled midlife crisis by Elon..... Yet
Don't give fuck about drugs
Why are you doing drugs? You need to be sober minded
Doing drugs = having a legitimate medical procedure? Read the studies or better yet try it yourself, you'd be surprised
Because he is an u happy person who’s wrong about most of the things in life. And his values are flawed.
Lol, I had same experience with laughing gas lmao😂, I don’t think I’d like ketamine
