    I know this is an old video, but I just rebuilt the Kawasaki FD620D engine in my John Deere 425 mower that I purchased new in 1993. Upon initial crank after the rebuild the engine was hunting and would only run on about 1/2 choke. Someone on Facebook (was facebook even around when this video was originally created?) suggest cleaning the carb. I was scared as I didn't know how simple or complicated it was. Your video really help to dispell my fears and show that I could get in there and clean the ports and make sure that everything looked good. I put it back on and the engine ran just as badly, then I disconnected the venting solenoid that the early carbs on this engine had before the fuel shut off solenoid with the plunger, and it purrs like a kitten. Thanks for this video that saved me time and money in getting my JD 425 back running again.

    I love the 1993 Argo Conquest with plastic tracks and ROPS I just picked up. Runs great but the Kawasaki motor is new to me. Thanks for the video!

    How do. I make sure the fuel & cylanoid hoses are correctly placed

    Nice video thanks. Is there a reason that the fuel shutoff solenoid can't just be deleted and replaced with a threaded plug?

      You can absolutely do that, I’ve seen a few plugged. If done though, you’re fuel can keep leaking out in the event of a rollover.

    Hey RD.
    I pulled my carb off my Argo conquest fd620d cleaned it all up. I need a new float bowl gasket and a carb base gasket. All the kits seem to have a paper gasket and i do believe argo sells a steel one. Is there any difference. I have read paper ones seal better.

      adamlocke85 I don't believe I've tried the metal gasket, but I have made paper ones out of material like cereal boxes. Worked in a pinch.

      Axle Bearings, Chains, Sliders, Oil Levels, Brakes....... Everything you would expect, lol. Also look at the cleanliness of the Tub, that might give you an idea of how the previous owner treated the machine.

    Does the float pin supposed to be a tight fit or loose?

    • @RockDoctor07
      @RockDoctor07  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Loose, when the float bowl is put back on, the pin can’t slide out.

      Not that I've ever seen. It can be done and is a pain in the butt. I will have to try to show that some time. Great question.
