  • Ever wondered how to catch fish flipping? Here are some of my favorite pitching techniques, things that i've learn over the past 20 years. I hope this can help you learn better bass fishing tips, let me know what you think in the comments!
Here are the topics that I talked about in this video:
    2:07
REEL: Johnny Morris Platinum 8:3:1 reel
    LINE: Fluorocarbon 25lb test
    ROD: 7:6 heavy action rod
    3:06
Have the proper amount of line out
    [The distance of your rod]
    3:55
During the spawn: pitch past the target
    The rest of the time:
Pitch as close to it as possible
    [Shady side, current side]
    4:50
    Watch your line:
[It will give you a lot of bites you might not feel]
    5:38
I USE BRAID: only in grass
FLUOROCARBON: for everything else [20-25lb test]
    7:55
Always make an extra cast to “LEANERS”
[cover that makes a 45 degree angle]
    9:09
    HESITATE:
Count to five before you move your bait
Hop it twice before you pull it out
    9:51
    ROD POSITION:
Work your rod from 9:00, 10:00, to 10:30
    10:53
    QUIET ENTRY MATTERS IN:
    dead calm, clean water
    12:08
    WHEN FLIPPING SHALLOW COVER:
    I don’t want a big bulky bait
    SMALLER BAITS:
The General // The Critter Hawg // The Power Hawg
    12:50
Let it fall on slack line
    13:54
    ACCURACY
    Practice in your yard
It’s such a big deal to be accurate when you’re flipping
    14:37
    MY MISTAKES:
Out of position on a hook set
    Threw slack to a fish
    Going too quick
    15:04
BAITS I USED IN THIS VIDEO:
The General - Green pumpkin blue flash
The General - Green pumpkin candy
    Critter Hawg - watermelon red
    Power Hawg - California

Shade side or current side, leaners for shade, down sizing baits. All the little things that a big difference. You have more little tips, what you're thinking, etc than most other video's. I'm liking it. 👍

So good to get to know these pros better, during tournaments (work) they are so focused sometimes they seem harsh. To see a pro have as much fun as I do makes me smile. Great tips all of them, do be ready because that next flip might be the one, keep that rod in position.

You are so fun to watch when you're fishing because you get all excited even though you catch a ton of biguns.. I really appreciate your teaching & coaching instead of just catching fish. I'm sure everyone is learning at ton from your videos. You break the details down & talk about things we might miss. You're a blessing!

I'm really glad that you started this channel. The quality of the production, combined with the tips and information from one of the best tournament anglers to ever hit the water, is what has been lacking in the "everyone with a Go Pro and a fishin rod is now a pro" TH-cam fishing video world. People need to take note.....This is how you do it. Great job buddy.

Great vid. For me the only thing missing was a couple of minutes on how you selected your areas to flip. All the water looked the same so i was curious about the lake bottom features that made a difference to you. Also, I really like the talking points in text and it goes to how people learn. Some people do fine learning aurally (by hearing). My attention drifts so aurally is not my strongest learning method so visual representation (text talking points) really help me retain the info. The importance of accuracy, quietness (different weather conditions) and bait profile most helpful. Even more helpful would be area selection to fish - gotta be on em to catch em. You're as good a guy as they come Edwin. Thanks for sharing all you know. I really enjoy your channels.

All great tips but accuracy is tops. Really just started flipping late last season. I fish a lot of floating docks and would only flip the outsides and empty covered slips not very accurate with practice, still don’t get the same distance you do but getting pretty dang close to putting it where I want. Heck couple weeks ago I even flipped a dock with a boat in it and never touched the boat or dock. Still have not caught one flipping but it is coming. Thanks for all the great videos

The most I get out of your advice is the attention to detail. Paying more attention to what I'm doing on the water can possibly put more fish in the boat. But here is a question for you, the days where you're plans aren't going well, how do YOU stay focused on a frustrating day? Maybe something to add to another video down the line. Thanks for commentary and your enthusiasm on the water. God bless.

  • @corykent7
    @corykent7 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey, I have a question for you. I like to flip a pretty sizable tube now and then, and other times I like a Berkley Pit Boss. These are both THICK plastic baits, so I tend to use a Gamakatsu, 4/0, G-Lock. It's an extra wide gapped hook, and I've noticed I almost NEVER miss the fish when I'm flippin anymore.
Ypu say you never use anything but a straight shank hook. Why is that?

Absolutely love this video Double E! I’ve went out and practice everything you said, and even set down to review my mistakes, and now, I can honestly say I have improved my flipping game 💯 %. Thanks for the awesome content as always, I’ll be uploading my video using these tactics from you soon. 👊🏾👊🏾

I use 80 pound line. I don't wanna be that guy who hooks a 26 pound bass with 25 pound line and it snaps the line and swims away.
