    HAIR JIG, PREACHER JIG, BUCKTIAL JIG: What do you call it?! Let me know below! 👇

    • @sonnygreen9698
      @sonnygreen9698 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always called it a hair jig just because of the material, I made a couple of bladed hair jigs and man I really like the action a lot more than I do with any trailer that’s out there, so very versatile but then again, at the end of the day it’s still a jig, it’s all about that fall baby !!

      I always called the thick ones buck tail hair jigs.

    Great video as always what would have made it even better is you showing what you were graphing and how they were set up on the structure for you to think they could be caught on a hair jig

      Well some people may know the lake he’s fishing. Grand Lake.
      Looking at the background.
      He don’t want to give away his spots.
      But I know what you are saying.
      I’m sure he’s on some structure or brush or a drop off. Probably a drop off.
      He’s graphed up something
      and you can do the same.
      Jessica come to Texas and I show You what I’m talking about 😉.

    I have tied thousands of bucktails all my life . They are so over looked , and work 365 ! I put a stinger treble on mine in open water . Tie them on with braid , or a snap swivel with a piece of tubing . Thank you E for PREACHING the bucktail !

    Been living bout 45 minutes south of Lake Eufaula in Alabama my whole life (58 yrs) always known them as bucktail or hair jigs. Never heard them called preacher jigs. I have seen a few anglers fish them on their TV shows and you gave at least 1 tip I don't remember ever hearing before. Seems like you're very helpful that way so thanks once again and good luck with the season and your lake. Looking forward to next update on it

    I'm going to have to get some of these. It makes so much sense. Whitetail deer grow hollow fur strands in the winter to aid in body heat retention. Adding that to a jig would change its sink rate compared to a synthetic skirt on a typical football jig. Thanks for the tip!

    Was at Lake Fork last month and did good with a Spro 1/2.oz bucktail jig with a Zoom swimming super fluke jr on the back. Give them something different especially on a highly pressured lake. Funny is my other producing bait was an old Heddon Bayou Boogie.

    Man I love this video. Please make more videos on HOW TO CATCH SUSPENDED SUMMERTIME BASS!!!!!! you know the ones that get out over 80 foot of water, that follow bluebacks around constantly, and there suspended over 80 feet 15 to 40 foot deep????? Those right there just get me all messed up. Yeah I use swimbaits with little success. I've tried a rig in middle of August. Jerk baits. Light weight jigs and Texas rigs that fall slow. Spoons with little success. Crank baits. About the only way I can catch them somewhat consistently is drop shot and that's only somewhat consistent. I've tried the hair jigs. Under spins. Only thing other then drop shot that works decent, is top water and that's only if you see them schooling and busting on top. I surely hope I'm not the only one with that problem. I've researched and researched as much as anybody on the subject and there's just not a lot of info out there on it. I think because its extremely difficult for everyone. But I could be wrong. It could just be the best kept secret in bass fishing. I live on Smith mountain lake and that swimbait deal just don't work for me. I can't be the only one. I'm getting into the spy bait deal. Found out about that last year. That's an extremely painful way to fish. And I haven't had any luck with it yet but i hear it works so i got me a few and some 6 pound fluro and I'll keep trying but man, those fish are brutal to catch.

Could you PLEASE break down the smaller jigs you guys are using for smallmouth in super clear water. i.e. Andy's Custom marabou jig... he's also got bear hair and synthetic. Why black vs. white or vice versa.... cloudy vs. clear days? Adding small chuncks of plastic to add scent/taste, weight, rate of fall? If you have already done this, someone please direct where to find it. Thank you and blessings.
