    Such an important message at this stage for students who are choosing their branch of study. This is the first stepping stone towards choice of a career. It would be nice if something like this is done for all the branches. Also it would be good if guest lectures (both from academic and professional perspective) for 12th standard students become a norm in all schools, which will help students take an informed decision. I remember when I had to choose an engineering branch, I was having a conversation with my uncle. He asked me just one question, "what kind of job will you like?" and I replied "I want a mix of both desk job and outside work". He suggested I choose civil engineering and conversation went deeper from there. More than 30 years have passed and I haven't regretted the decision.

    Excellent topic Sir, If you don't mind i like to share my own experience I done my btech (hons) in automotive engineering with a gpa of 9.1 from wbut & want to pursue mtech in thermal sciences so i obtained out gate which i cracked but after cracking gate i found many of the iits including iit kpg don't allow automobile graduates to pursue their mtech in thermal sciences & engineering field initially i was shocked but as one of your earlier videos you mentioned that we should explore by ourselves so i started doing that & found there are many interdisciplinary thermal allied branches like Energy Ocean Aerospace where we also can pursue our mtech which majorly work in the field of thermal engineering. So i started applied that & ended up getting selection in mtech sustainable energy engineering in iit Kanpur, iit kgp ocean engineering, iit delhi materials engineering apart from that i got almost thermal engineering/mechanical engineering mtech from all 2nd gen iits including iit Gandhinagar iit Indore & also got direct PhD in mechanical engineering from Iit Kanpur so right now i am planning to join IIT Kanpur mtech sustainable energy since i am interested in thermal management of battery electronics & fuel cells kind of research & then Ph.D. from any top tier institute from Abroad specifically USA/GERMANY.
    During this period i found many star faculty actually from this energy engineering branch like prof Avinash Agarwal from IIT KANPUR top cited prof in the field of IC engines, apart from that prof Praveen from IIT GUWAHATI & Prof. C. Bakli from Iit kgp probably you are familiar with this name since he also done his doctoral studies under Dr. Suman Chakraborty.
    I think our generation is blessed to have a guide like you, i am going to started my journey from next months onwards since i am also interested in academics, your blessings are required.

    Dear prof, i know this isn't relevant to this video but i really wanted to ask this :
    I genuinely want to give jee again next year i gave it for the first time in 2023 qnd could not qualify mains by a really small margin and i regret it so much, but my parents aren't agreeing to it, they say i will waste another year, how do i convince my parents that i know what i have to do to improve and this wouldn't really be a waste of year, its just me trying to improve my chances to get into a better college instead of just settling for a college through kcet in bangalore

    • @prerikap8844
      @prerikap8844 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I read student experiences from these colleges in my head it's a replay of the horrible horrible coaching experience( can you imagine teachers changing every 2-3 months, thanks to TH-cam I could do wel in boards but practice for jee took a hit ) I had in 11 and 12 . When I try to tell them to my dad he says don't read it then, I don't think he understands that when I still have a chance to improve my college I needn't go and regret four years in these colleges and at this point and don't think he can understand me any more., I am really confused sir..

      @prerikap8844 I can understand your situation. Sometimes, parents may not be able to understand their child's confidence and desire despite their own best intentions. I don't know what exactly you can do in thus situation. I had recently tried to send a message to parents of JEE aspirants. Although it is unlikely that they'll change their mind just because of this, you can still try showing them this: th-cam.com/video/Bryu851__T8/w-d-xo.html

    • @Prof_JC

      I am myself a dropper. No one bothered me about it. And, no Professor is even interested in finding out those things. You have to understand that a student has to start performing as soon as he enters the Institute. And it is that performance alone which determines the Professors' perception of the student. No one one cares even about what your rank was in JEE. All that is past history from Day 1.
