What people don’t understand is these Asian owned nail salons typically send one or two to school for nail technician and to take the state board exam.They come back and teach others how to do nails. So in one salon there may be one or two licensed technicians out of a total of maybe 10 that work there. That’s why you may I see a couple of licenses hanging on the wall. If you ever walk into a salon and you see more people working there than you see of licenses hanging up then you know everyone’s not licensed.
Yes, but Asians do a much better job than any other race. Having a tech license doesn't mean you're good. I've seen people with a food handler's license put on gloves then wipe the sweat off of their face with the glove on then assemble a hamburger.

I stopped going when a YOUNG girl who spoke no English was using a hand held massager on my calves, and it sucked her hair into the motor. Her hair started to smoke, and I was scared it would fall in foot tank and electrocute us both, so I got up to try and help her, but by then the machine had sucked her hair in up to the roots. NEVER AGAIN. Rocket Fuel at home and a dish bin from the Dollar Store. I’m good. All she said in English was ‘pick a culla lady and you pay NOW!’. Too risky. ☮️💅🏽
Last time I had my nails done, my finger got infected. Technician knicked my skin while drilling down the nail. I had them done for my wedding and a week later, my finger was swollen and couldn't bend. They had to cut it with a scalpel and squeeze out the puss. Along with 10 days of antibiotics.

I stopped going years ago. Several things I noticed. A nail salon poured the acetone I just used, back into the bottle to be reused. Another place had a grandmother"trying" to clip clients toe nails, but her hand was continuously shaking. When I spoke up, she got mad. I noticed a client getting a pedicure, and there was fungus on her feet and nails. The same equipment used was rinsed off, then used on another person. I noticed clients getting waxed, but the worker kept dipping the same spoon in the wax.

Nothing crazy but after a week or so my cuticles for dry and began to peel then my nails started to get ridges and bumps. Ever since that happened I did not get my nails done ever again! My fingernails healed after a few years but that scared me and I was a kid. My mom and aunt just wanted to do something nice for me because I got on the honor roll lol

Look for a reliable nail tech who is licensed, sanitary, takes their time but does a good job and loves what they do.
This happened to me when I went to a foot doctor he had his tech trim the ingrown nail and it got infected to the point I was in the hospital for 3days and almost lost my too

I don't put on nails.. I tried it when I was younger I just think they are not hygienic and when it comes off they rip of my nail bed. Too they even sterilized their instruments in autoclaves. They also thin your nail bed making you more susceptible as a port of entry or a pathogen. Fungus I really would prefer everyone had their own instruments

0:54 is right after she got her nails done with them. As you can see in the video, it's the same set when she goes in to them to remove the nail.

Stop getting your cuticles cut, they protect your nail bed from infections. Just slightly push them back. I do my own manicures/ pedicures.
