      I have contacted my Texas AG Ken Paxton. Dealing with this horrible company in Texas right now. They contacted and coerced my elderly father last year. Now he has passed away. What an absolute nightmare.

      @@devilmonkey idk man when I was at the dealership signing documents for a new vehicle I read every page of that 12 page document and probably caused me to ask about 4 or 5 clarifying questions during the process. You sign a legal contract you better read it. Now website ToS are different cause those are typically just to use a service and are legally non-binding

He just passed away and now we as his children have to deal with this absolute nightmare of a company. He was duped.

    As a realtor, I can say, most clients have no idea what they're signing and it's sad. We should have stronger requirements to be a realtor. Most buyers and sellers have been screwed over in the last two years. ESPECIALLY the buyers who paid over asking/appraisal price that are now underwater for the next 5-10 years.
    You shouldn't be able to advise anyone on a purchase or sale for hundreds of thousands with just a 75 hour course lol.
    But hey... Make sure you go vote 😂 I'm sure that'll help

      I was actually lucky as a stupid 22yr old buying our first home here in texas. The realtor and closing company were excellent at going over every page and making sure we understood what we were doing and what kind of commitment we were getting into.

      @@officialmarcjenkins well thank God its paid off now. They even showed us how to double up on payments to where it didn't kill us. handled that mortgage loan by the time I hit 35. I just thank God I had decent people selling me this house.

I’m aware older people need to use one to read(my grandparents had to before they passed) but there’s a problem when you make the print so small no one can read it and then you target the elderly. That alone should let you know what these people did was criminal. I hope they are sued and punished to the fullest extent of the law. Did you even watch this video ?

And talk about fine print, look at products in the stores. Always read the fine print. They do make stronger magnifying glasses.

    I am forever gobsmacked at how many people sign contracts without reading or understanding them. NEVER sign anything to do with your home or anything big without hiring a LAWYER! When we were building our house, while walking the property, the contractor tried to get us to sign a BLANK "Commitment to Proceed" form! I told him to please fill it out and send it to us, then we'll have our attorney look it over. You could see his panic. He kept saying " It's a standard form". I said "I'm sure it is, but I'm sure you can understand that this is the largest purchase we'll ever make so it would be foolish not to have our attorney go over everything." I never saw that form ever again!

    "...and I just kept signing"... People have to learn how to start reading these contracts, or in this lady case, having someone else read over it for them, preferably a lawyer. Even if you have to tell the company to let you have a couple days to read over everything then get back to them, it's worth the time because anytime they're rushing you sign should be a red flag🚩🚨🚩.

    They sure know who to target, the elderly (over 50) and in certain areas where there’s little push back legally. A company that buys potential ‘leads’ from other companies that have placed ads online. Be careful when filling out anything online because there’s companies watching. Lurking in the shadows. Whenever you click ‘allow cookies’ on any website it’s permission for them to track you as you navigate on their site and sometimes other related websites. Incase you’re wondering how Amazon, eBay and others send you suggested items that you might have looked at in the past.

Blaming your foolish decision to sign a contract when you know you can't read is ridiculous. Sorry, but thats life. Nobody forced her to sign this. I don't think it's predatory. They are just counting on people being uneducated and foolish enough to sign a document without reading it or understanding it at all. Frankly, I think they are teaching a lot of people a lesson. I can see if they were being deceptive but they weren't even being deceptive. All the terms were right there in the contract all she had to do was read or get someone else to read it for her. She is just someone who blindly signs things without thinking twice about it. I don't know who's worse in this case the marine or the old lady. At least he fully knows how to read, but that means he just did not give care about the contract and signed it. Both of them are tripping. All it took was for the news to read like one sentence from the contract for you to know that is not a contract in your favor. This is what a lack of Education gets you. The lack of a basic K through 12 education is here as a great example of why you should at least finish your basic schooling.

    You need to have a lawyer present in your home to see what those papers are it is mostly important because if you're signing something you don't understand you might as well mess up so it's important to have a lawyer in place to see the paperwork before signing it or otherwise someone is violating your rights or your violating yourself not knowing what you're getting into they need to investigate this person so that you know what they're up to this is no good when people do things that are out of control you're up there and age you don't need people taking advantage of it or taking it for a granted a lawyer needs three look at the paperwork that you had to sign did they give you copies you must always get copies from anything you have signed but I would always have a lawyer in place when I'm signing these papers if I don't understand

    She allegedly can’t read because she left school in the 6th grade???( At 75 her 6th grade education is probably equivalent to a High school education today.) However, she had enough sense to go get a lawyer…🤔 I wonder if she even knows what is in her current mortgage contract??? Well at least she got the lien on her house cancelled. God truly looks out for babies and fools.

    If someone calls you out of the blue, you need to read EVERYTHING before signing anything. Listing agreements are typically for a year.

    I'm not denigrating anyone or being disrespectful and my heart goes out to these people, but one thing I've learned in my business dealings is read read read and if someone tells you well this is what it says but that's not what it means then tell them no or cross it out and initial it and have them initial the change in the contract. And if a person is elderly, your parents or grandparents please help them because we have very bad people out here.

    I will make it easy for everyone. Dont sign ANY contract without reading it. If you dont understand the contract either get a lawyer, or dont sign at all. If you cant read, then you should NEVER sign a contract.

    People get an attorney to read over any contract agreement before signing. Doesn't cost much, and it's cheaper in the long run. Even when buying cars.

    if you can barely read, you probably shouldn't be signing any papers by yourself. this is common sense. i love the attorney who basically called her clients dumb, this is one of those cases where predatory companies do search for idiots who will sign papers for money. i also love how the one guy oversprayed all his windows instead of masking and taping them.

    Never ever go through a private company promising federal grants, instead if you need help contact your state's department of agriculture. That is the bureau that handles federal home improvement loans/grants and will put you in touch with an agent from the department that will help you apply for and find any available resources. Private companies like this are solely interested in profiting off of your desperate situation.
