Great information, as always, thank you. I haven't got a propagator, but through the autumn piled chicken compost in half the greenhouse, to about 18 inches deep. Raises the temperature, enough to start seeds off in trays laying on top of the compost. Once germinated, ready mulch for the newly planted seedlings. Also, growing marigolds. Once the chicks are big enough to start laying, mix crushed up marigold flowers in their feed, and the yolkes will be bright yellow. Xanthophylls, apparently. Once again, thanks for the information. Do agree with the annual journal. A must. 😊

Just sown some sweet and hot peppers, tomatoes leeks, onions, radish and aubergine though I’m not confident they will be successful even in the greenhouse, it’s in a heated propagated now. But may be ok if we have a hot summer. I’ve got seeds left that I will plant later incase these don’t work.
I’ll be doing parsnips and carrots soon lots of other things too, at least this year my plot is ready last year was mainly tidying it up. Flowers too as companion plants and they will look beautiful. I gave myself 5 years to get my plot the best on the site I’ve got 4 years left and feeling confident. I seem to be there much more than other people. Although it does take me longer due to my MS x

Well done 👍 and I’m sure plenty will flourish / I always have extra seeds for backup and there’s always your local garden 🪴 centre for plants 🌱 already started / I do a bit of both and after I can’t remember how many years I still get the odd crops that never do quite what I hoped but overall I get plenty to eat and that’s what it’s all about and I’m sure the gardening 👩‍🌾 is therapeutic and will help your MS. I feel much better being part of nature both mentally and physically

I grow Cape gooseberries, they grow in my unheated green house during the summer and didn't do much first year, they managed to survive the winter and then the following year they really produced lots of fruits, third winter they didn't survive unfortunately.

I’m really hoping to get them off to an early start but so far only one has germinated although when I looked them up they are a 14 day germination time so hopefully more will pop through soon

I am waiting for my onions to show signs of life, the beetroot and lettuce and perpetual spinach are starting to come through all on my windowsill. Next month will be tomatoes, various flowers and peas inside and carrots and parsnips outside….

Awesome 🤩 I’ve just sourced my onion sets, asparagus crowns and dhalias and intend to plant 🌱 soon / it’s been pretty wet here in Kent but it’s definitely warming up slowly so everything will start to bounce into life soon

My leeks weren’t great last year we had allium leaf miner but this year they were much better / we love leeks and personally I wouldn’t let one bad year put you off if you like them

I have some aubergine seeding at home, when can I pop them in to the green house?

Mine are still indoors until the risk of frost has past as my greenhouse is not heated

@@ThatsWhatWeCallTheGoodLife Thanks for that! I wasn’t sure if it would protect them. I also heard to sow 5 weeks before last frost, do you know if that’s true?
