There's a horse in Merhojed called Schemig (or Šemík in Czech) he's named after an eponymous horse of Horymír from a Czech legend. Horymír was sentenced to death and his last wish was to ride his loyal horse for the last time, but once he mounted the horse, he jumped over the castle walls with him and escaped. That's why the horse seller says they had to raise the fence to keep him in.

I live less than 20km (and a few hundred years) from where the game takes place in real life. Just if you're wondering - Skalitz = Stříbrná Skalice; Samopesh = Samopše; Ledetchko = Ledečko and so on... One of my classmates does actually live in Skalice itself.

quick note: Chollima(천리마) is a Korean modified version of an ancient Chinese legend. The Chinese version of that 千里马 simply means that horses that can run thousands of miles. Differences are that Chollima has identifiable wings and Chinese ones simply runs really, really, really fast.

North of Rattay, in the open field, in a slight impact crater, is a dead woman wearing a witches hat with a broomstick between her legs.
Yep the tree with boots is a reference to czech fairytale. Its about a man and women who would love to have child, but they can't because of some reason (don't remember that, maybe cause they are too old). So the man carves a statue of a boy from a log. The statue miraculously comes to live and it starts eating pretty much everything it can including its "parents". Than it eats more things and people. Story ends when some old hag cuts its belly open and everyone who was eaten jumps out. Lovely story right? :D
Martin Hušek there is a turkish-turkic fairytale that is like that but a bit diffrent.beg and hatun of a nomad tribbe wants a son but they cant... Once they were roaming around a swamp they found an egg.egg brokes and it summons a human like creature with one eye.they treat it as like their son.it keeps growing up and it never stops eating.it becomes a giant and keeps eating peoples sheeps and cows.people get angry at him so eats humans too.it eats all of tribe and tributes others.it tells otger tribes that if they dont give him 100 sheeps a day it will eat them.tribes keep getting poor.after a while a man shows up he fights against giant.stabs it from the eye and kills it... But there is a diffrence between bohemian version... People that are eaten doesnt jump out of belly... Sad :(

where are the holy grail references? Every good rpg in a medieval setting has holy grail references! Warhorse, Make a wayfaring knight that's unbeatable and who say's "'t's but a scratch" when you give criticals, and still taunts you after you kill him, make a white hare that jumps straight at your juggular protecting some abandonned mine with loot in it. Make horse named patsy, who can carry an infinite amount of loot and makes coconut noises when walking, but which isn't any faster than an avergage human being.
Actualy there was a quest where as a knight you are looking for treasure in skalitz and you find goblet. :-)
There are Holy grail references. I think there is even that killer rabbit reference
West of Sasau is a River Crossing. If you cross it southwestward and then head north along the river, you will find a grave. This is the grave of Harry Potter.
My favorite interesting site is a "Dragons Lair" at the top right of the map. Complete with a dead knight, horse and skeletons strewn around it.
The needle can be found in most armories
Shadowmere is a horse found in some stables, Easteregg from elder scrolls V, Its the NightMare you get toward the end of the Dark Brotherhood questline. If you get the stable in Pribyslavitz, Shadowmere will be there.
I think the number of murders labelled as 'accidents' found all over the map may be a reference to hott fuzz

You missed one. There is a horse named Shadowmere. The npc will say that they acquired this horse off of a mysterious man in black.
lol oh, there's this drunk NPC who wanders from Rattay to the Monestary. If you catch him when he goes to a bathhouse, he'll say "Hold the door!" xP Thought that was a pretty cool subtle nod in there. Could be nothing, but he is a fatter looking guy who's pretty tall too so....it's gotta be one right?
Witcher is an alchemy perk, not a potion.
In the forest in the top center of the map I found an "accident" site where there was a large circular and dense patch of fly agaric mushrooms and a small clearing in the center with two dead women in the center laying flat on their backs side by side, holding hands, wearing white dresses and flower crowns, and holding mushrooms in their outer hands

When I found out the two butchers at Pribyslavitz were named kochwurst and brisket I damn need died from laughter.
There is a mysterious man talking about the wild hunt too.
Today I found a reference to the famous Assassin's Creed quote, "Nothing is true everything is permitted". I was doing the monastery quest when I talked to the novice siskin.
You can hear people talking in the taverns about the wild hunt so that's another witches reference the talks about how he witnessed them take out a whole village and saw them riding dead horses and the leader had a skull face he's one of the guys who gives tales you on as a apprentice and has you steal a bunch of stuff
There's also a horse called "Šemík", also from a Czech fairytale.
No one mention ghost at night in the Skalitz forest? Just go there a the middle of the night, I found this when Johanka ask me to find a cave that she saw in her dream. I rides my Pebbles like a maniac and come to this forest. Then I saw a glimps of shadow, I thought it was bandit so I press “2” to get my bow, but usually when we are close enough to them, they will start yelling “who’s there?” but this nothing. So I try to get closer, put back my bow and take my battle axe. As I get closer the glimps get far, so I start to run towards this shadow and it’s gone. Later I still curious and wandering the woods only to find out that it is really a woman ghost with gray robes and creepy face flying above around the trees with no voices. I run like a maniac again with my Pebbles.
Later, I come again to the same location at the day. Because I still have some trauma come there at night and found out that there are a grave nearby, when I dig the grave I find some grochen and a skeleton without head, the skeleton head tho found nearby below the tree with an axe. I don’t know what easter egg it is, maybe some folklore

Near a treasure chest somewhere in woods south east of Rattay is a watchtower and there's a butchered woman in bathtub. You can also get a skillbook called joy of gutting there. Given the massacred body of woman I was glad to leave that place immediately.
I have found Otesánek at the midnight of real local time and half hour after midnight of gaming time. He is not moving, sorry guys :D It was scary that i found it at this time. I did not even know this easter egg is in the game somewhere. But Otesánek died at the end of the fairy tale. You can see the axe in his heart.

If you rock the Nobles Saddle with 4 saddlebags on a tier 4 horse it only takes away -2 speed. I have that Bucelephus horse. He has 66 speed, 420 carry weight and 20 courage.

Funny story: Sleipnir is not only Odin's horse, but also Loki's son. In order to stop a giant stallion from completing it's task on time, Loki turned himself into a mare and... well.... I remind my wife of that fact every time I see her mooning over Tom Hiddleston.

I found tomb near to Sasau with the skeleton of a witch, the skeleton has a red cape and a broom crossed over the chest, the tomb is near to the pass on the river, ar the North of the monastery.
Also there is a horse named Kelpie that was named by the name of Ciri's horse from books

You can buy a horse called Kelpie witch is the fastest horse in kcd. Ciri's horse had this same name in the Witcher books saga.
There is another Witcher 3 Reference at the Tavern of Samopesch, Just Listen to the 3 Guys that who sit there, it's really hilarious

Its actually a reference to a fairytail. The fairytail is called Gingerbread Cottage. Its about a boy and a girl which get lost in the woods after their father leaves them in the forest, because of his wife. The kids find a gingerbread cottage and start eating it. A witch lives in the cottage and wants to eat them.

"WarHorse Jenda" is dog that owned Daniel Vávra (Game Co-Creator) and Jenda died in development of the game. So that's why they put his name into game... Pray for Jenda.

literally EVERY SINGLE horse name is in reference to something (most of them are from myths and folklore, like pegasus, but there's also some from literature, lice rocinante from don Quixote)
It would be cool if the witcher potion would just kill you, since thats what they do to normal humans
