    I would have never guessed my 2003 had 8 plugs. I need to change them very soon, glad I found this video!

    Hello friend ... From Greece Corinth, and me engineer. All right and well, I've been watching you for a long time and I see you love what you do, bravo. The only mistake I make is that you do not use a nut with restraint. Removing the spark plugs and replacing them with the magnet for me spoils the whole picture. This from me, continued so you are very good. Giorgos Korinthos Greece

    you might want to remove all the nuts before you remove the coils to avoid dropping one down the cylinder. Same goes with installing them.

    excellent video. A suggestion: you can use a hose to place the spark plugs

    Thanks my dad just bought one used and couldn't find a video on this car until now. . Next question where is the SRS control unit on this 05 civic hybrid and have you ever replaced one? Thanks great video.

    Thanks for this! I have an '05 Civic Hybrid and I wouldn't have noticed that it has 8 plugs. Heaven knows when/if they were last changed and I've put at least 50K on it since I got it. Starting to rough idle a bit and lose some of its 'giddup'. Figure new plugs can't hurt.
    2 quick questions:
    What does the dielectric grease do for the coil/plug interface?
    Should you do the idle relearn steps after reconnecting the 12V battery?
    Cheers!

      For a more even, clean burn.
      A 1.3L rotary has 4 plugs for 2 rotors for similar reasons, though not efficient

      Same here. I watched videos on honda civic 05 but I noticed the engine bay set up was different until this video. Must be a hybrid thing I assume

    What if you broke the connection when taking off the air intake cover and cracked the hose. Does anyone know where to find a new hose and what is the hose called?

    Is this car in your fleet? How hard is it to do the valve lash adjustment? Other 110k maintenance that goes along with the plug change interval?

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is, for now. That can be pretty time consuming. I would definitely change the CVT fluid and engine coolant if you haven't already. Thanks for watching!

      @@2carpros I thank you for the video, showing the entire process. Before finding it, I read things that said the back ones were hard to get to, as I usually do research before attempting things I haven't done before to reduce chances of breaking things and speed up the process. Your video makes it clear and appear easy and easy to reach and I appreciate it ;)
      The CVT fluid is definitely something I have to tackle very soon, and finding a shop willing to do it or trustworthy to do it is an issue around me. I have a bit of the starter clutch judder. The Honda service manager told me it was a torque converter when I inquired about having all the fluid changed out.
      I've read the process, and I just need the tools to get it done. Drain and replace about 3 qts at a time with driving in between four times, then a burnishing process involving revving with foot on the brake in drive and reverse with cooldown periods in between ... then much more frequent changes thereafter. Only had the car a few months, just crossed 110k and working on getting everything up to speed for my piece of mind.
      Again, thanks for the video :)

    I have a 2003 Civic Hybrid 5spd. 300,000+ miles. The engine quit out of the blue. The shop working on the car says only one cylinder is firing. He is still trying to determine the problem. He doubts all 8 spark plugs (and coils) could fail at once. Maybe an electoral issue or a fuel supply issue. Any ideas?

    How to diagnose misfire after warm up ?

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would plug a scanner in and see if it tells you if one of the cylinders is the couplet. Then I would change the plug and fuel injector to see if that fixes it. Thanks for watching!

      Iridium spark plugs never need replaced at all. Avoid the shop you got a $747 estimate from !

    • @TaylorDennistzdennis
      @TaylorDennistzdennis 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I was quoted $900 by our local Honda Dealer. Bought the parts for less than $100 and replaced myself!

    • @michael47lamb
      @michael47lamb 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TaylorDennistzdennis Like I mentioned above: Iridium plugs never need replaced at all. I own two of these cars and have never needed plugs. My cars are running great the last 200,000 miles on the original plugs. 52 MPG every day. I have no idea why anyone would want to replace the original iridium plugs as they are far superior to anything at a parts store. Platinum plugs are a really sad second place plug. Quick story: when I bought my first HCH I found a receipt in the car for a "tune up" at a local garage. It claimed to have had the plugs replaced, I took out the plugs to have a look and they were ALL original plugs. The guy I bought the car from was ripped off for $150 for plugs that never got replaced. I told him this too.
