This is so important. Many drug dealers are poor and don’t have many options. Some have addictions, themselves. My dad ran away at 15, and was labor trafficked by criminals. Often, kids are made to sell drugs, in these situations. When they grow up, they don’t have an education or marketable skills. I don’t get angry with people whose lives I don’t know. I have lost a cousin, friends, an aunt and uncle, and my dad to addiction. I now work with people with addictions.
Wow... This is an extremely powerful and redemptive story. If they are capable of this, imagine what we are all capable of in our own small ways in our day to day lives. I take so much inspiration from radical compassion and courage like this. We have to elevate our shared humanity through these extremely challenging times.
